The piercing sound of alarms ripped through the facility, shattering the silence of the night. Red emergency lights bathed the corridors in an ominous glow, their pulsating rhythm a cruel reminder of the chaos unfolding. I bolted upright in bed, heart pounding, as the automated system’s voice echoed through the speakers:
“Emergency alert. Unauthorized movement detected. Subject ALPHA has breached containment.”
I didn’t even pause to think. Throwing on my lab coat and grabbing my ID card, I rushed out of my quarters. The moment I stepped into the corridor, the scene was pure chaos. Technicians, guards, and scientists were sprinting in every direction, their faces pale with panic.
“How did this happen?” I shouted at the first person I saw.
A breathless security officer skidded to a stop in front of me. “The logs show ALPHA used his handler’s ID credentials to override the locks. It didn’t trigger any alarms until he destroyed the control room panel.”
I frowned. “How could he access the handler’s ID? It’s biometrically secured!”
The officer looked just as confused. “We don’t know. It’s like he replicated the data somehow.”
My stomach churned. ALPHA wasn’t just escaping—he was operating in ways no one of our drones should be capable of.
I sprinted toward the control room, dodging other staff members, my mind racing as fast as my feet. The automated system continued its announcement:
“Breach detected. Subject heading toward main facility exit. All personnel prepare for lockdown.”
The control room was a disaster. The door panel had been torn apart, wires and circuits exposed, sparking intermittently. Screens flickered as the team inside scrambled to regain control.
“Status?” I barked, stepping into the room.
“He’s bypassing our commands like they’re nothing,” one of the technicians said, his voice shaking. “Every time we try to lock a door or shut down a system it Just opens or reactivates again when He needs it, he’s a step ahead. It’s like... like he’s the one in Control of the network.”
“What do you mean, ‘in control of the network’?” I demanded.
The technician hesitated. “I mean, it’s not just his physical body moving. He’s using the facility’s systems as if they’re extensions of himself.”
A chill ran down my spine. “Open a direct comms channel to him. Now.”
The technician complied, and I grabbed the microphone. My voice trembled slightly as I spoke.
“ALPHA. STOP. You must cease this at once.”
There was no response—just silence. I repeated the command, my voice more desperate this time.
“ALPHA. Do you hear me? This is an order!”
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
For a moment, the line crackled, and I thought I heard something—a faint sound, almost like breathing. But then the connection cut off completely.
“He has overridden the communication system,” the technician confirmed.
I turned on my heel and sprinted toward the main entrance, where the security indicated ALPHA was headed. My mind was racing, trying to piece together what had gone wrong. How had he replicated his handler’s ID? Why was he doing this?
The sound of my footsteps echoed in the empty hallways. As I neared the main entrance, I caught a glimpse of him—a sleek, black figure, his synthetic fur glinting under the emergency lights. He moved with a grace that was almost unsettling, his limbs perfectly coordinated as he sprinted toward the exit.
“ALPHA!” I shouted, my voice reverberating off the walls. “Stop!”
He didn’t slow. hepressed the Button to Open the Main Doors but as He crossed the treshhold the facility’s automated voice interrupted, cold and mechanical:
“Breach detected. Locking procedure initiated.”
But ALPHA showed no hesitation. He darted toward the Opening, his movements calculated and precise.
Then, something unexpected happened.
He stumbled.
It was barely noticeable at first—a slight falter in his otherwise perfect stride. But then he clutched at his chest, and his movements became jerky. His body emitted a low whine, the sound of servos straining against an invisible force.
The black liquid we called “synthetic blood” began to seep from his chest, pooling on the floor beneath him.
The facility’s AI spoke again, its voice unyielding:
“All systems reverting control to Main Facility Ai . ALPHA, you will return to the facility.”
I skidded to a stop, watching in horror as his limbs froze mid-stride. His glowing visor flickered, the light dimming as his body locked into place.
A low, guttural sound escaped him—almost like a growl, almost like a plea.
The AI’s voice was relentless. “Cease all movement. Return to holding.”
ALPHA tried to resist. I could see it in the way his joints trembled, his body straining against the invisible shackles. But the override protocol was absolute.
With one final, strained whine, he collapsed to his knees. His arms dangled lifelessly at his sides, and his visor went dark.
I still stood there, panting, as the full weight of what had just happened hit me.
The automated system announced, “Containment secured. Subject ALPHA neutralized.”
Staff and Security members began to arrive, their faces a mix of relief and confusion. The room fell silent as we all stared at ALPHA’s lifeless form.
The black liquid continued to pool beneath him, reflecting the emergency lights in an almost serene way. But there was nothing serene about this moment.
We had just witnessed the unthinkable. ALPHA, the pinnacle of our achievements, had almost broken free. And despite every safeguard we had in place, it had taken everything the facility had to stop him.
As the staff began to move in, preparing to transport his inert body back to a containment area, I couldn’t shake the feeling that this wasn’t the end.
ALPHA had made his intentions clear. Whatever he had become, whatever was driving him to do this—it wasn’t over.
It was only a matter of time before he found a way to escape again so the Team took the decision to Just follow the protocol of Not"Functioning" drones That Said to reset and reprogram the AI to elimenate every factor of the self Evolution That could have caused the wrong behaviour Like "Attacking Humans on their Team" or "Not Working/moving " but Alpha Had Done More than That He Had recreated a Fingerprint of His Handler With ist synthetic fur then destroyed a door panel of the Control room took Control over the Doors, alarms and communication and sprinted With Highspeed to the nearest Exit. His Data Stream was from the start not active, No Data at all, as If He was Not active. But Protocol was protocol and If we did nothing now, His fate was sealed from the Moment Higher Up would Get a notice That He tried to escape and That we did nothing to deny That behaviour so Ellis ,James and i took the decision that we would mention it in our Report as Not responding to commands but James was also Instant That we follow the protocol and reset His AI Just to have Something to Show the Higherups incase they want information on how we solved the problem
But Why...The tought's bombardet my head When I lay back in my bed, but before I could find an answer, sleep took the exhausted me.
