The siren of the patrol car stuttered in and out of existence as the crushing force of the rubble on top of it continued to pile on and drag the car down further. As if stuck in quick sand the vehicle slowly sank down the hole away from view. The lanshi hissed at the car observing it with nothing but ire through the gaps of it's webbed fingers with it's one remaining eye. The lanshi hated the sight of that patrol car and it hated the people inside it even more. It wanted nothing more than to rip and tare those that did this to it apart but It was in to much pain to purse them further at the moment.
Many of the iron bullets that the Pugs shot it with were still lodged deep inside its body. Most of them were in its skull and they burnt inside it with the intensity of red hot coal. The lanshi howled as its brain was roasted from the inside smoke escaped from the bullet holes in its face. The fumes gathered together above its head as if to symbolize its anger as its body was cooked from the inside.
Now normally a lanshi that receives such wounds would be dead because almost none of them can survive without a functional brain. But not all lanshi are the same they come in all colors, shapes, and sizes. Many of them share similarities but finding an exactly identical lanshi is harder then finding a needle in a hay stack. The loss of a brain isn't that important because like an octopus this particular lanshi has 8 more just like it.
As the lanshi groaned in pain so to were its groans met with another man's. The crushing weight of the car as it fell through the floor launched the desperate struggle for survival that Gage Garboza didn't back down from because he didn't really have much of a choice to begin with.
The shock of what was happening was completely overwhelmed by Gage's displeasure by being woken up by sudden death. He kept the large vehicle propped up with nothing but his own strength as he quickly attempted to piece together what was happening. Through the windshield of the car Gage identified two pugs inside one was unconscious while the other was still holding on. He also heard a distinctly loud wailing that everyone in the world was familiar with.
"That can't be a lanshi outside my apartment can it?". Before he overwhelmed himself with questions or doubt Gage threw all that nonsense to the side and shouted to the pugs still in the car.
"Hay, get out of the car right now your fat ass are making this thing heavy!".
Jones who was still conscious heard Gage's plea and followed it. Staying inside the patrol car would do no good and above that he could see Gage struggling to hold the car up. Unnecessary waiting would only put more pressure on Gage so Jones grabbed his partner by the collar and quickly dragged him out of the car and set him onto the floor.
When the two pugs finally slipped out of the car Gage strained his muscles and ejected the car from the building with one big push. The car popped out with a loud bang enlarging the whole it came through as it arced in the air. The car alarm only died out when it nearly crashed on top of the lanshi that narrowly avoided being flattened. The lanshi witnessing its hatted foe back to fight again clawed into the side of the car prying it open with its sharp claws like a can opener.

Back inside the building Gage was avoiding fallen debris while making his way towards the two pugs. Gage took a knee next to the unconscious Murphy who was being checked on by Jones and asked him a few questions in a clearly disgruntled tone.
"Hay, old man what the hell's going on here!? You came crashing through my ceiling so it better be good".
Gage wasn't in the mood to be nice even if the person was an officer of the law it made no difference to him. Jones didn't care about Gage's tone he was to tense to care anyway about small stuff like that either so he spoke plain and quickly.
"It's lanshi's an unknown number of them are in town reeking havoc. We're currently in the center of this whole mess but don't worry we've already issued a code black alert. An assault team is being organized to push them back. Where also fairly close to a navy base so the should respond to this situation soon".
Gage was stunned by Jones words then with a serge of emotion Gage grabbed hold of Jones's collar and said in an angry tone, "don't worry, I wouldn't have to worry if you lazy dogs did your jobs. Hell I would still have a home to sleep in. This part of the city isn't even next to the ocean so how do you fuck up so bad that those damn fish are swarming the streets".
"Get off of me" Jones shouted as he forced Gage off of himself. "This isn't our fault and it especially isn't mine. Throwing blame randomly isn't going to change the fact that one of them is right outside. So, calm damn and help me or stay back and shut up".
Gage's ear twitch and his mood perked up when he heard Jones response. "wait your telling me that there's just one of those things out there".
"Ya". Jones confirmed.
Learning that the threat wasn't what he though it was Gage couldn't help but laugh it off decreasing the tension.
"Oh, man when you mentioned code black I thought my place was surrounded on all sides by dozen's of lanshi. You should have told me from the start it was just one I can handle that by myself easy".
No longer worried about the immediate threat Gage sauntered over to a corner of the room and begun digging something out of a pile of rubble.
"There they are".
From the rubble Gage pulled out two black metal tonfas with a slightly wide pole on both weapons for better blocking capability.
Jones observed the carefree Gage who was clearly preparing himself for a fight and asked, "are you really going to go out there to fight it with just those".
Gage replied, "no, I'm also going to be taking that gun you got there to use".
Jones eyes widen at this statement as he distanced himself from Gage.
"I am not going to just hand over my gun to a civ-".
As Jones was talking Gage rushed over towards him and clocked him on the chin with a strong left hook. Jones's brain rattled in his skull as the light in his eyes faded to black. With two unconscious pugs in his room Gage searched them both for anything useful. Between the both of them he found 23 skrill which was a decent some of cash, one pistol, and a decent amount of ammo to down a few lanshi if he comes across any.
Geared up Gage climbed out from the hole the car came through and spotted the lanshi tearing away at the broken remains of the patrol car that resembled more of a crushed can then anything else.
The lanshi snapped Its head towards Gage the moment he popped out of the hole. Seeing new prey it stopped destroying the car and crept towards Gage.
"Well I'll be damn those two did a real number on you. Now that it's my turn lets see what I can do".
