44] - [Predictable]

Already an ominous bad day right over her head, Sun Xieren sprung ahead with a right claw. The stone Wu Tian was caught easily, a giant difference in raw ability. Her smirk and crazed eyes flared up while a left punch filled with purple and icy Qi closed in. A moment before impact, her smirk vanished, droplets of blood running down her fingers. She had been stopped by a dagger clad in pink Qi.

The Qi on the dagger kept changing, from pink to purple, purple to blue, and so on. Guizou was leisurely having fun with a rainbow dagger demanding truly astounding control levels. She understood this perfectly, paling at the sight. She still struggled with icy and fiery colored Qi, while her longtime enemy Luzhen Jie was even worse off, only knowing pale red.

She clenched her right claw, trying to break Wu Tian with her advantageous points. But a rigid obstacle stopped her from doing so. No matter how much she clenched, her fingers would be unable to get past a certain point. She then saw the stone cracking, another layer of translucent grey wore like clothing underneath. Her surprise did not help her react to the dagger, gracefully coveting her extended right elbow less than a meter away.

Even her elevated cultivation base would not give her enough time to extirpate the arm away in time without messing up.

The rainbow coating of Qi was much more brutal than it let to believe. A simple graze was enough to slice her skin open like paper. "What is this?!" Screeching at the sudden surge of fear, she yanked it back, but only aggravated it further when Guizou smiled behind the mask. Before she could force her way of the situation, he gently stabbed the dagger from above into the pit of her bloodied elbow.

As she pulled back, he only maintained a grip on the dagger, evidently to his current predicament, letting her slice her entire right arm by herself.

His rough voice poked at her desperate struggle. "Expected a bit more." He knew the difference to mainly be from his current soul state, not Wu Tian's body. He was doing nearly everything by himself at that point.

"Is that all you have to offer? Disappointing." In truth, Guizou was still going rough on her. Wu Tian's body, his current anchor point, was much weaker than required to fight properly. The strain put on him was devastating.

His façade intimidated them for even a monkey to notice. "Sect mistress! His voice, his Qi mastery... he's not a Warrior! This man has to have been possessed by a ghost!" The Grand Elder could observe everything from a safe distance, hesitating on interfering.

Sun Xieren did not press his assistance, retreating with a large jump backward.

She landed near Tian Yawen, clenching her teeth in frustration. "Who are you?! Answer me!"

Guizou remained silent, spinning the dagger casually. He had to maintain a front. Tian Yawen however pointed at him. "Sect mistress, he has to have been possessed by an evil ghost! No Warrior should be able to exert so much strength!" Sun Xieren nodded at his words, her eyes turning colder. "Ghost, don't think that you can beat me with just this!"

Guizou agreed, but remained silent, carefully hiding a steady stream of Qi from behind. Seconds passed while the real Wu Tian heard his master. "Prepare yourself, this one will hurt." What? Not again!

Sun Xieren kept pushing for answers, while Guizou finished his preparations. "...ct is a hegemon of this region! We have many ways to torture a ghost like yo-" Interrupted, she was frozen in place. Tian Yawen was perplexed at the sight, feeling a chill run down his spine.

Sun Xieren could still see, but not move. She saw Wu Tian's armored body glow for a moment before the space around him darkened with deep blue. A starry sky shimmered all around him, overthrowing her mind. Before long, the colors began to fade everywhere, including hers. Only Wu Tian remained the same.

A glint flashed from his hidden eyes, his body vanishing out of nowhere.

Failing to widen her eyes, a coldness crept up her right shoulder. Tian Yawen to her right moved his eyes as best he could, paling in terror.

Wu Tian had appeared to her right, in between the duo, walking away as his legs nearly snapped in countless pieces. Blood seeped through the skin into the armor, but they could not see it.

The colors then shifted back, granting vitality to the grey world. Sun Xieren could move, a geyser of crimson emerging from her right shoulder. Turning her head, her right arm was missing.

Colors were drained again, but only where her skin resided. She wanted to scream, but there was no point, holding it in. A duel of bluffs. She chuckled audibly. "Hehe... do you think... I care about this? It's just an arm, don't get cocky evil ghost." Guizou applauded her spirit, having used the third and last part of the [World Viewing Steps], the [Dimensional Step]. One needed to at least be a Monarch, but he had to make due. The damage was massive, but not as much as a Nine Skies level method.

Sun Xieren was still in shock on the other hand, never expecting such a method to exist, and not understanding why the ghost targeted her right arm. Would her mighty left one not be more useful to disable?

She was thankful to it, until Guizou's voice resonated again. "Two Stars... an expert. But can a little expert like you survive such blood loss? And if so, for how long?"

She wanted to keep her head high, but soon collapsed with confusion written all over her face. "The answer is not very long. I should be asking instead, how many seconds can you live without your right arm?" Wu Tian's body suddenly turned around, aiming the dagger at the back of her skull. Tian Yawen widened his eyes as he jumped forward, in attempts at stopping the blade. But Wu Tian's body then blurred, a crack spreading from where his feet previously stood.

A shadow was casted over the Grand Elder's face while a dagger plunged into his heart. "As for you, just like her every move, you are also too predictable."

A large red Qi blade pierced right through his front and back, traumatizing his body the same as his leader. Both could only survive for mere seconds before fainting. Blood loss truly was a danger to the Mortal Land's ignorant residents.

Wu Tian was given back the control, immediately slumping, falling to his knees in pain. "My... legs!!!" He coughed, realizing his legs to perhaps be the least of his problems.

"What did you expect kiddo? Two Stars and a Great Warrior, not the easiest with your level. Be glad I still held back and used a lot of spiritual energy instead of breaking your bones."

"Well, you still have broken bones, but not that many."

I can't feel my feet!

"Master, I can't move my legs!" Guizou just spared him a side glance. "Then be better!" Before returning to the pendant. Wu Tian now had to deal with the aftermath. The clouds were peaceful, and so was the blue sky. Crimson pools grew around. "Did they have decent stuff at least?" Sniffing at the future days and weeks of pain, he grumbled while looting the corpses.

Hours later, he was seated inside the pillar, orange facing him. The loot had not lived up to his expectations.

"Stupid robes, a pill that smells rotten and a broken sword... was this not a sect?" He then recalled the treasury. Maybe his standards were too high. A treasury worth so much would not be equaled by one or two high ranking people. Without space rings, they could not carry shelves of items on their person.

Shrugging after a while, he descended the mountain, and met with a group of frightened disciples. "Who are you? You're not a disciple of the sect!" A couple slaps later, he resumed his walk down the spiraling wide stairs.

The haul was still juicy in the end. The space ring alone was worth every broken bone and severed tendon. One might even throw away their very dear life to get one for future generations.

The hype had lived up to its name thankfully. Though he could not use it properly as of yet. And with the Life Prolonging Pills helping him so greatly, he had more chances to break through the Divine Realm barrier.

As for the two sects, he purely had no idea. One had lost a sect mistress, Grand Elder and other elders, while another fled like rats before the cat. Their prestige had been hit, but only if made public. The Sky Sovereign Sect's majestic mountain being damaged to much doomed their foundation. A lost mountain peak, one of their pride, was not the worst. It was mostly empty in the first place. On the other hand, the damage it caused left Wu Tian astounded. The moment he reached the bottom, he was met with a wall.

He could not leave!

"What?" Guizou emerged from the pendant with a heavy frown. "This is problematic. You choose young man. Will you dig or jump?" Wu Tian panicked. Picking one's poison was never fun.

"Is there one better than the other..?" Guizou gave him an exaggerated shrug along a teasing face. "Who knows, how about your figure this out yourself?"

He meekly nodded, getting back to the top after an hour of painful walking. He began to resent the stairs at this point.

"Healing would be the first step. I think."
