24] - [Fragmented Principles]

Cross-legged on the cold floor, Wu Tian was recuperating. Qi was drawn to his figure, absorbed by his flesh. His injuries healed and his mind stabilized.

If only. Since the beginning, Wu Tian was sweating profusely. Each speck of Qi he greedily devoured was also laced with deadly energies. He was unsure about their origin. But he could most definitely feel the harsh cold and nauseating dark miasma seeping into him. It had only been a few hours, yet his skin was already freezing.

His teeth clattering away, he had no choice. "M-M-Master!!" Fuck! I'm going to die at this rate!

Guizou's purple soul forming before his eyes, his lips parted with a visible frown. "What's wrong? You can't handle the atmosphere?" Wu Tian shook his head as best he could. His entire body was trembling incessantly.

Noticing a few strands of darkness to be infiltrating Wu Tian's body, some visible on his skin, Guizou sighed. "My fault. I should've known. Just focus on your recovery, I'll deal with the rest." Sitting cross-legged as well, Guizou's figure floated just above Wu Tian's. His burly physique shook, a powerful presence spreading out. A mighty shockwave exploded from his core, pushing away the surrounding Principles. The more it pushed, the clearer one could see.

The veil of darkness began to fade around them, a layer of mist soon dispersed as well. A dome of peace was soon put into existence.

Urgently devouring the nearby Qi, Wu Tian's body finally won over the fragmented Principles within him. It took three hours to do so. It was terrifying. A simple exposure was so deadly. "Master, what are those things? I can't even see them..." Guizou, his eyes closed, answered from above. "Those are fragmented Principles, also called Daos. They are formed when one's level is high enough to comprehend and master them. This is for the Heaven Grade level of power. Don't mind it for now."

Silently accepting the lack of information, Wu Tian breathed steadily. In the meantime, Guizou was a bit annoyed. Can we go further? I might have to use a few percent more just for him to recover for another possession! Their adventure in this place was reduced to Guizou carrying Wu Tian on his spiritual shoulders the whole time.

Because of the fragmented Daos, Wu Tian on his own had absolutely no chance of survival. Only by using his residual aura, presence and Principles could Guizou offset the danger.

The issue still ended up being himself. His spiritual energy reserves were not infinite. Thankful to the Heart Soul, he could save more while using even more power. It was a massive advantage compared to before. But he still was with a Warrior, not even halfway through the Great Warrior level. And the place here was a good three major realms beyond.

This is really problematic. But the gains would outweigh the losses. Unless he could really not go on anymore, Guizou would keep pushing. This place was a treasure trove he would not let go. And if he truly needed to go back, he would slaughter anyone close to it himself.

A full day gone by, Wu Tian was finally done. He was brand new.

Guizou on the other hand...

"Are you finally done?! I'm about to exhaust a good eight percent more by now! We have no time to lose!" About to infiltrate Wu Tian's vessel, a few voices rang out. "He's here!" Their heads snapping toward the right, a group of four illuminated by a golden bell and golden dome was sprinting toward them.

Guizou immediately spat on the ground. "Bunch of clowns! How did they make it here? I don't even want to think about how many resources they wasted to illuminate the way there."

Wu Tian narrowed his eyes instead. Aren't they pushing their luck? Just as his thought ended, he saw them suddenly pale and sit cross-legged. They were only eighty or so meters away. The bell was hung, shielding them from the strange Principles around. But Guizou was not blind. "They messed up." Curious, Wu Tian focused on the group, soon noticing a crack on the dome. "No wonder..."

His old master only nodded with a heavy sigh. Using a Warrior artifact where even an Earth grade one might crumble, it was a good way to doom oneself. He was certain of their awareness. They had to know about it. "They really are pushing their luck. Instead of backing down safely, they keep going. I really don't know how they made it this far in life..."

A couple hours later, Wu Tian was conditioning himself, wanting to see what would happen. If they were lucky, these people would trigger the defenses ahead. Guizou was not too fond of the idea at first, but the moment he remembered the arrows from earlier, he agreed on the spot. He did not want the situation form prior to happen again.

Seeing them get up, Wu Tian still waited patiently. Their dome was filled with cracks, on the verge of breaking apart. The moment it did, he could already tell what would most likely happen.

However, the eighty meters separating them began to fade. Eighty became seventy, and seventy soon turned into forty. Forty only took a few minutes to become twenty.

Now close to one another to the point of clearly seeing each other amidst the dim lighting, Wu Tian's veins slowly erupted. They woul-

Before he even obtained the opportunity to finish his simple thought, the group of four actually stepped into the domain Guizou made. Feeling refreshed from the lack of atmospheric aggression, the group relaxed before the dark robed man grudgingly spoke. "What are you doing?! You dare?!!" His powerful voice almost blew them apart. However, it only was a fearsome illusion from such a difference of cultivation.

Nearly frozen from terror, they now understood how dangerous this man truly was. Their earnest feelings at the beginning were clearly correct. This hooded man was not simple.

Meeting with his nearly bloodshot eyes, they almost took a step back, only gaining courage from a much more terrifying fear awaiting behind. Either they retreated now and perished, or tried to fight and possibly gained a safe zone.

Being the leader, the young lady hesitantly took a couple steps forward, cupping her fists. "Senior, please allow us to rest here! We... we can't go on anymore!"

Raising a brow, Wu Tian almost chuckled. "You guys look so down. Previously, you threatened me? Also, did you know that I almost got myself killed because of your measly group activating all those damn traps!?" Standing up, Wu Tian glared at them. "So piss off!"

Stepping forward, Wu Tian could not believe these shameless cultivators. This made him fear this place even more. Just a residual aura of these so called Principles caused these arrogant youngsters to piss themselves and even reconsider their very own pride. Truly marvelous yet absolutely horrifying!

"Master, they can't even walk anymore. Let's just go..." About to run, the six of them felt a powerful earthquake. The entire structure, vaster than some underground sects, was visibly shaking.

Feeling dread, Wu Tian took a step back, a humongous shadow creeping from behind the pillars hundreds of meters ahead. Raising his gaze, he could make out a strange figure. Guizou on the other hand, could see what it was from one glance. "Kiddo! Prepare yourself!" Rushing into his mind, the master took control.

The group of four puzzled, they also looked into the general direction the shadow came from. Before long, they saw a humanoid figure seventy meters tall tower over them. It was made up of stone bricks and tiles, long arms and legs, a thin torso and a thick alien head. It was a golem!

"Brat, you better not blame me for this!" Wu Tian's body glowing green, Guizou directly prepared himself to burn up to fifty percent of his reserves!

The golem was unsteady, hugging the closest pillar with its left arm. Its entire being was as badly made as the pillars themselves. The stone bricks and slabs were not aligned properly, forming weaknesses everywhere.

"This golem is old and on the verge of collapsing, so don't worry too much." Trying to reassure Wu Tian, Guizou was not feeling so confident inside. The golem may have been deteriorating over who knew how many centuries or maybe millennia, but this golem was still a being created by a Monarch!

A green energy coating Wu Tian in his entirety, an ethereal light coated his beard and hair. Scars of all kinds glowing across his body. His white eyes of a pink shade crystalized into emeralds on the spot.

Kicking the ground, a powerful vortex absorbed the Qi from across the entire hall! The amount gathered was extremely high, wielded under Guizou's boundless expertise.

"That's the problem with your cultivation kid! I can't actually use it inside, I have to control it from afar!" A powerful presence increasing the gravity, the group of four was shaking like leaves during winter. An oppressive vortex condensed inside Wu Tian's right palm. His figure blurred, his legs almost snapping in half. "[World Crossing Step]!" Nearly teleporting from the sheer speed, Wu Tian was now dozens of meters into the air, steadily closing in on the giant of stone.

Qi overflowing from Wu Tian's right arm, it soon turned a gorgeous green shade. Pushing his right hand forward, the hand almost blew apart from the pressure, blood spraying behind them. Wu Tian saw and felt his right hand take a huge strain, his five fingers snapping backward on the spot. His palm cracked, his wrist twisting unnaturally.

Guizou on the other hand did not mind. The haggard right arm fully extended, a truly massive amount of Qi turned a vibrant green.

A giant palm thirty meters across appeared out of nowhere, its beauty inconceivable. It was made up of ethereal yet clearly tangible emeralds condensed into one another. An uneven gem-like hand pressing forward with absolute momentum.

"[Emerald Palm]!!" Roaring aloud, Guizou felt half his spiritual energy reserves disappear on the spot!

The golem tried to slap the thick emerald palm print away, the reflections upon its countless smooth surfaces already straining it. "Take this you stupid rock! A martial method I made for myself!"

As Wu Tian still felt a powerful pressure dislocate and break bone after bone inside his body, he was sent flying from the rebound, crashing into the hard wall far behind. The golem fared not much better, its right arm pulverized from the incessant shockwaves alone, the palm soon colliding with its torso.

The group of four marveled at the sight, speechless. A giant golem taller than pagodas was seen utterly annihilated down to rubbles by a massive hand made up of countless emeralds.

Unsure about how someone could use such a thing, they remained silent. Guizou watched the remains of the giant collapse limply. He was well aware of how taxing this martial method would end up being on a poor Warrior.

After all, his [Emerald Mist] martial method only contained parts made for Nine Skies Great Emperors. Even an Eight Skies powerhouse would feel the heavy strain and end up disheveled.
