My name is Mitch, I am a simple man from California, I just finished college last year and I’m currently working a boring office job at a huge company. The pay is low but at least I can rent my own place and be happy with my dog Waffle. I live a comfortable life, I never get out of my comfort zone and so I never do anything interesting, but today all kinds of strange things started to happen, and even my dog felt uneasy.
Something is wrong today, I feel something in me is pulled towards somewhere, this feeling started appearing this morning when I woke up and it is still going.
What should I do? Go to a doctor or what?
The feeling keep getting stronger and I start to panic, I try to get on my phone and call an ambulance but I can’t budge a muscle, I can only move my head, and I did, I started looking around my room, I didn’t see anything out of order until I looked at the clock on my wall, I then see what is happening, the time stopped, a strange purple circle with some strange writing appeared under me.
At first, the circle was small and emitted a little bit of light but it got bigger until it encompassed the whole room.
The ground started to shake and I felt the most horrible pain that seemed to last for an eternity, the purple light got so bright I couldn’t see anymore, only purple, even with my eyes closed this is all I could see, then everything turned white, even the pain was gone witch was the biggest relief.
I was standing on some white marble probably in a huge white room that seemed endless, a big wheel with a different color on it started materializing in front of me.
I tried reading what was on the wheel but to no avail, only thing I could discern was the colors, there were 5 colors, gray, green, blue, purple, and golden the golden one was the rarest then the purple, and so on.
At the bottom of the wheel was a small lever, I try pulling it and the whole place started to tremor. The wheel started spinning so fast a couldn’t the colors just merge, then it abruptly stopped on a golden spot.
Strange golden energies started floating from the wheel into my head, there was no pain, I never felt so good in my life, and I wished that this could go on forever.
After 2 minutes the energy stream stopped and a blue window appeared in front of me

I couldn’t even see what the new window had in it and got pulled away into a black abyss until I lost consciousness.
I woke up on the ground beside a tree, I am starting to panic again, then the first thing I see is a green slime, like the one I saw in the games I used to play. It has the dimensions of a basketball and moves slowly but the direction it moved was sure to be mine and I don’t think it wants to be patted on the head, I don't even know where the head should be, to be honest. The slime was green and transparent, it had a small ball inside of it, and something red like meat, I am not sure.
I don’t think I should kick it, it may dissolve my foot or he might use some magic or something weird. I get a bigger stone from the ground around me and I throw it as hard as I can at the monster. I miss. The slime is now 5 meters from me and gaining ground, I panic yet again and fall on my butt, I start throwing a stone at it and manage to hit it, but to no avail, the stone just plunged into the slime and it stayed there floating with the piece of red meat.
I don’t understand how he even knows where I am, the slime doesn’t have any eyes, it might be just some magic thing. I get on my feet fast, the slime got into one meter distance from me so I had to move. I run a little bit to distance myself from it and I start to break a branch from the closest tree I can reach.
I get another branch and put it beside a tree just in case and gather some stones in my pocket then I slowly go toward the slime. When I got in attacking distance I started bashing the monster with all I got. The slime turned into a pool of green liquid and started to get absorbed into the earth, the only things that remained were the small ball, the meat, and the stones that I threw.
I take the ball and put it in my pocket, it might be some precious monster core like in the games, or it might be just a nice round stone.
Now that the danger is gone, I start looking around this spot to see where am i and where should i go. I found a bush with some raspberry but I don’t eat it, I’m not hungry and it might not be raspberry but a poisonous fruit.
Around me are only trees and some bushes, I didn’t see any road.
So I started gathering my thoughts. I am in a forest with a t-shirt, sneakers, boxers and pants, my smartphone, and the keys to my house that used to be in my pocket. I think I got a system like in the games but I don’t know how to use it.

It seems it got only my first name, strange, so I am level 1 with no class and my stats are the lowest possible, I have that divine blessing but how do I use it?
I poke the name and nothing happens I poke the class and a window appeared
The next class change will be at level 10!
The slime didn’t give me any experience to level up, so how do I even get to level 10 then?

There was a point counter on the left side of the window with 0 points. Nice to know I can get some cheat power at least. But how do I even get points?

Fuck, I kinda feel bad about killing the little guy, but what if it was some acid-crazed monster that wanted to kill me.
I got over it fast, I was still in a strange place alone, with monsters probably around.
I poked the Gather skill for 1 point, a panel appeared wanting me to confirm the purchase, I confirmed that strange knowledge about the skill and how to use it appeared in my brain giving me a headache that got away pretty fast. I even got the basics on how to use my mana inside my body but I didn’t know anything about it, I only say in my status that I had 10 mana, I didn’t know if it was a lot or too little.
So the skill gathers materials from creatures I kill, the materials I can use them for creation I hope.
I got back to the slime I killed and used the skill „Gather” , I moved the mana in my body and transferred it in a pattern that got into the slime sludge that didn’t get into the earth yet. The slime sludge started to break down into tiny fragments then something just appeared making itself from the fragments of the slime.
It was a green ball that was a little bit sticky, I put it in my pocket. Poking anything else on the status window gave me nothing, i sighted and got my branch then I started walking into the woods. I needed food, water, and shelter. The sun was directly above me so I still got some time until the sun is setting.
