Hans held her hand and looked down at her ravaged body, tears filling his eyes.
‘Why! She did nothing to you! How can you be this cruel!’ He sputtered out through shakey, rage seeped sobs.
‘I need not explain myself to mere mortals, I do as is right and The deem what is cruel or merciful, she was chosen for the greatest honour a female could be bestowed.” Vol Drung roared back.
Hans shook all over and cried over this woman, remembering his family from his old life.
His memories flooding him, feeding his anguish.
He closed his eyes and saw his daughters.
He looked over to the newborn abomination and Vol Drung.
‘Yes! You are perfect my child! I shall name you Ireas Mort, you shall cleanse this Galaxy of the blasphemous heathens that inhabit it and from here we shall start anew! Rise and feed! Gain the strength that is your birthright as my messiah of judgement as my child of destruction!’ Vol Drung spoke to his child who snapped its head up and screeched in an otherworldly tone before launching to the edge of the altar as it began to harvest the life force out of the thousands of worshippers.
‘What the hell is going on!’ Bob was fearfully confused as he watched on with the general and the Hynx from the back of the chamber.
The General charged his giga blaster.
‘That monster is getting bigger, quick kill these cultists before it can get to them, I’ll make an advance on the enemy.’ He ordered before running forth, disintegrating worshippers and demonic antagonists as he made his way to Vol Drung.
Bob and the hynx began their own path of destruction through the crowds of fodder.
Back at the altar the creature began to morph and grow larger and stronger with every soul it sucked, growing larger than the god that fathered it.
‘Yes! Feed my child, feed!’ Yelled the god, before noticing his enemies encroaching on him and his spawn.
He yelled in rage before throwing his hammer at the hynx who was bludgeoned through the chamber and slammed against the back wall.
Hans still wept over his mutilated daughter as the demon spawn gorged itself.
The General had already annihilated a significant portion of the sacrificial assembly before Vol Drung had a chance to notice.
The god yelled with a volcanic tone before erupting forth from his position at the altar.
The general swivelled into a countering pose just as the hulking mass of hatred slammed upon him with extreme force.
The general, quickly attributing nearly one hundred percent of his power core’s energy into the temporal lobe and visual cortex, moved like lightning to fractionally dodge the gods skull shattering blow.
He then dumped all the power into his artificial reinforced musculature to drive his knee into the mid section of the god.
The blow sent a shockwave through the chamber as Vol Drung staggered back in surprise.
He barked out a deep, guttural laugh.
‘Well this is a different man in front of me!’
‘What can I say…’ said the general coldly as he lined his giga blaster up to the gods helmet.
‘I’m a quick study.’ He pulled the trigger, cannoning a high energy bit of molten metal into the gods head, blasting off his helmet and sending him flying back to the altar in a fury.
There was a momentary pause in all action and the room fell silent barring the subdued sobbing and cries of pain from the healing Iris.
All of the worshippers were either obliterated or their souls had been sucked from them to feed the now terribly gargantuan, jagged being that was in the centre of the altar.
The general, Bob and the hynx all regrouped on the empty worshipping stage before the altar.

Hans stood guard over his daughter as Vol Drung stood to his feet, reeling from the blow from the general.
His helmet had been blown off to show his malevolently scarred visage.
High cheeks and sharp, cliff-like nose gave an air so cold and callous that his eyes seemed to gleam like beads of fiery purple hatred in contrast.
They were set under two devilish horns that protruded from his forehead.
Although he had been bludgeoned he smiled as he looked down upon his enemies.
‘How fitting! Somewhat worthy opponents, barricading me from my ascension to the galactic throne for eternity! You are definitely the best this pathetic galaxy can offer but I am afraid on your behalf that it is not enough…’ he said with a malevolent grin so wide it showed his razor shark-like teeth.
The general reloaded his blaster and set his bionics to overdrive.
‘Charge!’ He yelled as the three warriors launched themselves up at the altar.
Vol Drung swiftly countered by levitating his Hammer in front of him and spinning it creating a force field around him and his spawn.
The Hynx was bounced back with a violent force that stopped the other two attackers in their tracks.
Vol Drung turned to his spawn. ‘Now time for the final metamorphosis… take me, my child.’ He said as he spread his arms offering himself to the grotesque mass that stood on its six legs breathing in a creaking manner as its permanent predatory smile dripped with its own birthing blood.
It launched itself upon the god and began to gorge itself greedily, eating Vol Drung and absorbing the gods immense power.
The ensuing transformation was more carnally dreadful than any could comprehend as the creature screeched.
The god and his spawn transformed into one gigantic, spiny, terrible yet biologically beautiful grotesque creature.
It had the torso of the god protruding from the spiny, hulking centipede-like body of his spawn.
A centuar like chimera of dread.
The god's mouth widened to show a jaw filled with razor sharp, gleaming black teeth set below bright purple serpentine eyes that were below dozens of horns that jutted out of his skull.
Below his torso sat another set of devilish teeth that breathed a horrid, rancid miasma that could only mean death.
The Hynx stopped in its tracks of rampage and stood frozen next to Gladius.
The sight even made the general grimace at the horror.
Hans jumped down and regrouped with his comrades.
Bob sighed.
‘This galaxy just keeps getting weirder.’ He said.
‘Focus men.’ The general ordered sternly.
‘Ready for battle.’ He said as he crouched into a stance of attack.
‘Battle! Against that! Are you insane fool?! That thing could swallow a planet!’ Bob panicked at the thought of engaging with the cosmic beast.
‘Buck up hunter, that rotten breath fuck is going to die! Besides he’s been starting to annoy the hell out of me lately, I say it’s time we cave his head in.’ Hans said, not a drunken slur in his speech as he stood chest forward, glaring at the demon.
The hynx merely roared in agreement.
Bob sighed characteristically once more.
‘Alright, fuck it I guess.’ He said flatly as he put his combat helmet on and activated his boosters.
In unison the crew launched at their opponent.
Within seconds they were upon the monumental beast.
The demon god swung its hammer, sending a shockwave that threw its attackers back down into the worship chamber.
The squad was not perturbed in their vigorous spirit as they sprung back up and continued their advance.
In response, Vol Drung opened his second mouth that was situated below his torso and out of it he shot projectiles of oozing, acidic bile at his attackers.
The team dodged in turn and continued forward.
“Break in two and flank around the cavern!” The General ordered and was immediately obliged.
The Hynx and Hans running around and up through the left as the General and Donny flanked the right.
They got half way before the demon crouched low and lunged to the centre of the cavern, equidistant from the two advancing groups.
They in turn turned and zeroed in on the beast, jumping forward with vengeful vigour before engaging in combat.
It was a flurry of back and forth attacks from both sides.
Vol Drung first fighting off the Hynx’s barrage with his hammer eventually pushing the big red beast back before Hans was onto him from the opposite side.
The two chained blows with ferocious pace as the demon god used its extra limbs as counters before Hans landed a headbutt that sent the chimera staggering momentarily.
It ripped its attention back up just in time as the General and Bob used their blasters from a distance whilst circling the dreadful beast.
Vol Drung laughed.
“You pathetic heathans, have you no comprehension of the power I hold.” He said before holding his hammer aloft over his head then bringing it down, obliterating the floor and the entire sphere ship they were in.
The group fell helplessly, plummeting from the great heights along with the debris of the spere ship.
As they fell all they could see was the figure of the ancient deity in the eye of the storm of chaos that he had brought.
All of them braced for impact as they accelerated downwards.
Suddenly, out of the black smoke surrounding them, Donny’s ship came clumsily smacking into all of them, collecting them on its hood and wings.
Donny, who was on the cockpit wind shield looked inside with sheer disbelief as he saw a wildly panicked Jakaab attempting to keep the ship straight as he piloted it.
“We’re in trouble now!” He yelled as he pulled out his portable interface device for the glider.
“What tipped you off!” Hans yelled as he held on to the side of the glider.
Donny flipped a switch that opened the cockpit windshield, dropping him and the general into the craft in a jostle.
The bounty hunter quickly got in control of the spiralling craft, gently gliding it down as the Hynx’s weight dragged them down through the air.
“Put it down there, at the central barracks, some of my men should still be kicking.” The general ordered as he pointed through the smoke, debris and laser fire of the ongoing invasion.
They crash landed as gently as a crash landing could be done before coming to a halt on one of the landing pads of the building.
