Complex of Time
Me? Depraved?

Me? Depraved?

“Kid, you're not the brightest tool in the shed, are you?”

“What do you mean, old Wilhelm? Why are you looking at me with such menace in your eyes?”

This time, it was the young lady's time to speak.

“Obviously because you exposed yourself for the degenerate that you are. The people from the shadow world never learn, do they? It was all too easy to trick you into exposing your origins. No one except for us at the Runemaster Guild, Overlord Sect and the Shadow World knows the name of the person we are protecting. So, how can you, some random, pitiful passerby we accidentally hit with our carriage know his name?

Samuel was shocked. His head swiveling in shock, with his eyes almost opening out of Instinct. He proceeded to wave his hand towards the face of the young lady.

“Hello, do you exist? Are we in the same dimension? What is this? What are you talking about? First, there are so many flawed things with what you just said. Back when I was walking on the streets of Stargate Port, like two years and six months ago, people knew that Merling had a big secret and that he was being protected by the Runemaster Guild. So, what is this nonsense about no one, except for these three groups of people knowing about it? It's not true. Second, I was captured and tortured because I was related to Merling. I know the guy. Hell, we developed the technique for engraving runes on the human body together. Who are you to talk as if I am some degenerate loser from the shadow world. Shut the fuck up. Without me, that discovery never would have happened. Merling never even thought about the things I taught him. I came up with the concept. I am the one who managed to brute force it. I am the one who realized the damn idea that you, you people of the Runemaster Guild have been trying to figure out for hundreds of thousands of years. Be embarrassed and own some shame. God damn lunatic. Never ever again accuse me of being something I'm not.”

Fed up with the antics of the people in the carriage, Samuel decided it was best for him to leave. And as such he opened a spatial tear and entered before they could even react. The young lady was shocked, not only at Samuel, but also at the fact that old Wilhelm let him go.

The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

“Old Wilhelm, why did you let him go? What he said was obviously some nonsense, right?”

“I didn't let him do anything, miss. There was no way, no chance I could ever stop him from leaving. That special tear surpasses any suppression I could ever place upon him. I don't know what kind of talent he has or what kind of technique or inheritance he possesses. But that technique is superior to every single traveling ability in the entire Shattered Realm. Nothing below the realm of transcendence can stop him from leaving.”

“As for whether he was telling the truth, we can merely ask Merling when we arrive. His exasperation seemed true, however. I believe we might have been too quick to judge this time, young lady.”

Meanwhile, in the bustling city a few 100 kilometers away, A medium sized spatial tear appeared in a dark alley. From it, obviously, emerged Samuel. Exasperation and annoyance clear as day on his face.

“How dare those people accuse me of such things? Me, the most honorable person to have ever existed. How can I ever be degraded as such? No! No way. So what if they're from the Runemaster Guild. I don't care. What are they going to do, capture me? I’d like to see them try. What, they're going to place runes on me? Brother, they couldn't even figure out the simple concept of engraving runes onto bodies. It took me mere seconds. Mere seconds I tell you. How incompetent are those people? God damn it.”

Although this is what he said, he was actually very afraid. If Wilhelm had so willed it, he would have perished instantly. Nothing he could have done about it, all because he was too powerful. Wilhelm did let him go, contrary to what he said to the young lady.

“You know what? I'm not going to worry about this any longer. Presumably there are Black Lotus people residing in the city. I'll take care of them, and then I'll go greet Merling. I still owe him some favors, after all.”

Samuel’s spatial sense expanded and soon covered the entire city. It must be said the city was truly grand. Spanning a range of more than 50,000 square kilometers. Such a size was barely imaginable back on Earth. Yet his spatial sense could easily cover the entirety of it. Soon after he did so, he could sense that depraved aura given off by the technique cultivated by the Black Lotus. Most sects and organizations had their own specific techniques and the Black Lotus was no different. Although Samuel did not know how it worked, he knew it was disgusting. Probably based upon the concepts of harming others. What he also sensed was a far greater amount of depraved people, spread across the city. Presumably members of the shadow world. A few of those presences were absurdly powerful. He didn't even dare to spy on space near them out of fear of being discovered. He soon found his most optimal targets and opened another spatial tear.

“Exterminator Samuel, ready for duty!”
