Chapter 8: Reinforcements

The scene begins with the arrival of the hornet army, which immediately begins shooting its stingers at the homunculus.

"So many hornets! Are they on our side?" one of the participants asks.

Shon sees Freed running towards them and exclaims, "You came back.

Are those hornets on our side?"

"Yes, they're our ally," Freed reassures him.

"How reassuring," says Ween.

The arrival of the hornet army has boosted the confidence of the people and monkey warriors present.

"Get ready guys!" Shon commands.

"Let's begin our round two," Freed says, and the other motivated participants cheer in agreement.

Together with the hornets, the group bombards the homunculus with attacks.

It seems that the homunculus is starting to weaken, possibly due to the venom from the stingers of the hornets.

"It's getting weak!"

"Let's attack it all at once!" the other participant shouted, and the group descended upon the homunculus, leaving it barely hanging.

Suddenly, a horrendous aura emanated from the beast.

"OVERDRIVE ACTIVATED!"

It roared, and the homunculus began to release an aura that created pawn monsters to defend it.

"Are you kidding me?!" the other participants exclaimed. "What now?"

"The homunculus has created pawn monsters, and there are so many of them!" one of the men said, and the group began to lose confidence in their ability to defeat the creature.

The number of pawns was double that of the group, and the homunculus was using them to buy time to regenerate itself.

Not only was the sheer number of pawns making it difficult for the group to fight, but every time they killed one, the homunculus simply created another.

The hornets were struggling to fight the flying pawns, while those on the ground were outnumbered and overwhelmed.

Due to exhaustion, the group was already surrounded by the pawns and on the brink of defeat.

Suddenly, a loud noise erupted from nearby, and a group of animals appeared: wolves howling, followed by a lion and two tigers, as well as a group of kangaroos and hawks, two worms, and the other monkey warrior from the village.

The monkey warriors cried out their battle chant as they prepared for the fight with the pawns.

The elder had ordered the monkey warrior who was accompanying Ween to ask for help from the other animals in the jungle and describe the situation.

The group of animals fought the pawns and defended the already exhausted group.

As time passed, the animals began to tire, but they remained determined to protect their land and kept fighting.

"We need to find a way to defeat that homunculus," said Freed.

"I think I've found its weakness," replied Ween, recalling her observations.

"Every time the homunculus regenerates itself, the red crystal on its forehead glows. I think that might be its weakness."

"It's really glowing now," Shon observed.

"So, we just need to destroy that crystal?" asked Freed.

"Yes!" Ween answered.

"But how are we going to do it?" one of the participants asked.

"We can't even get past these pawns," the others chimed in.

"I have a plan," Ween said. "It won't be easy, but I think we can do it."

"We need to form two groups. One will attack the homunculus and destroy the crystal, while the other will lure and separate the pawns from the homunculus while defending the attacking party. Shon and Freed will be the attacking party," Ween added.

The elder monkey explained the plan to the animals, and they formed a rectangular formation to defend the attackers while moving towards the homunculus.

The group moved forward side by side, fighting and defending their formation. Both groups were determined to protect each other.

As they neared the monster, the group switched to a V formation to separate the homunculus from its pawns.

Shon and Freed rushed towards the homunculus.

Freed parried the homunculus' attack while Shon jumped towards its head.

He swung his sword, and as soon as the sword touched the crystal, it broke apart.

The homunculus then attacked Shon with its wings, and he was thrown to the ground.

"Are you alright, Shon?" Freed asked.

"Let's try it again. I'll lure it, and you attack it," said Shon.

"Okay, let's go," Freed answered.

Shon grabbed a shield lying on the ground and lured the homunculus' attention to his side.

Freed jumped onto the homunculus' back, ran towards its head, and struck the crystal.

However, as soon as he hit the crystal, he was thrown to the ground by its wings, and the crystal only cracked slightly.

Shon noticed a dark energy emanating from the homunculus, as if it were concentrating its power.

"What is this massive aura?" he asked.

Ween quickly caught on to what was happening. "It's building up its energy. It looks like it's going to self-destruct," Ween said.

"Self-destruct? That's dangerous! This island could be wiped out if that happens," warned Freed.

"We have to stop it!" he added.

The two were already at the peak of their limitations.

"I think this attack will be our last chance," said Freed.

"Yeah, I'm so tired that I think I'll fall asleep anytime soon," Shon added.

"It's now or never."

The two rushed in again to create a simultaneous attack.

Shon was easily thrown away by the homunculus' paws, but he defended himself with the broken shield he was holding, which saved him from additional damage.

Freed, on the other hand, was able to penetrate the homunculus' defenses.

However, as he was about to swing the sword, one of its tails parried his sword, and the other hit him, throwing him into the air.

Shon quickly responded and leapt towards the homunculus's head as it was occupied with dealing with Freed.

Freed saw Shon's actions and threw his sword to him in mid-air.

Shon caught the sword just as the beast was about to breathe fire towards him.

Suddenly, an assault of daggers hit the beast right through the eyes, blinding it and halting its fireball attack.

The attacker was the same participant with the sinister aura who had helped Freed when he almost drowned in the lake.

The sword shone brightly as Shon caught it, transforming into a fine blade.

The nymph sensed the glow and remarked, "So he is there, I see."

The elder monkey also witnessed the events and commented, "You have finally found your king, huh?"

"Go, Shon!" Freed shouted, as the team cheered him on.

Ween was seen praying.

Shon was able to slash the beast's forehead with the sword and destroy the crystal.

The pawns disappeared and the beast's aura neutralized. The battle had ended and the homunculus fell to the ground.

"Now, that's what I call entertainment," Uriel said joyfully nearby, as he watched the fight.

All the participants and animals rejoiced and lay down on the ground due to fatigue.

After the fierce battle, Ween and the other monkey attended to the wounds and injuries of all the participants.

That night, the village held a feast to celebrate their victory.

In the morning, the animals guided the group to the port where the airship was located.

Upon their arrival, they found the man with the sinister aura already waiting.

They boarded the airship and bid thanks and farewell to the animals, who were almost crying.

The airship flew up into the air until it was no longer visible to the animals.
