Chapter 6: Helheim

Chapter 6: Helheim

"Hmm... looks like we have an interesting group," says Uriel, hiding his presence at the top of a tree while observing the participants.

"There's a reason why this island is called Paradis Helheim. It's a paradise in the morning, with all its natural beauty and animals, but becomes the realm of the dead at night."

In the background, a rabbit is seen transforming into something with long fangs and sharp claws. Its eyes turn red.

Purple steam begins to emit from the ground, and a thick fog covers the entire island.

Birds start to make noise, followed by a howl.

"What was that?" says one of the participants, who is currently inside the forest.

The sudden noise and fog make the participants anxious.

"This fog makes it even harder for us to see in this forest," says one participant.

The group leader advises, "Keep wary of your surroundings. We never know what might come out of this forest."

Another participant adds, "Yeah, stay attentive guys."

A rustling sound is heard from a corner.

"What is that?" asks one participant.

"It's coming from over there!" says another.

"Bring the fire torch closer," says one participant.

One participant turns around and faces the group. "It's just a rabbit," he says.

Suddenly, the rabbit becomes vicious and attacks the participant. It tears off his arm in one strike.

"Arghhhhh...my arm...," the participant cries out in pain.

The rabbit jumps on the man's face, causing him to fall to the ground.

"Help me guys," the man pleads as he defends himself against the wild rabbit.

The rabbit shows its sharp claws and strikes the man's chest. The man's chest is ripped open as the rabbit continues to strike his body with its claws. Entrails are visible as the rabbit eats the man's insides.

The participants are shocked and horrified by what they have seen. They begin to shout in fear and run as they realize that the rabbit has killed their other group member.

"Uriel is seen smiling sinisterly. 'So, it has finally begun. Who will make it out alive?' he says with a grin on his face."

"The panel switches to the participants heading to the beachfront. 'I can see it, the beachfront. Come on, guys, hurry up,' says one participant.

As the group gets closer to the beachfront, a pack of wolves shows up and starts to become aggressive towards them.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

The wolves chase the group as they run in fear. Some get caught and are eaten by the wolves, while others are able to reach the safety of the beachfront. Suddenly, the wolves stop pursuing them and retreat back into the forest.

'They're not pursuing us! They've gone back into the forest. Thank God,' exclaims one of the survivors."

If we follow this beach, we will easily reach the airship on the other side, says one participant.

As the group walks, the sand begins to move, and it appears as if a giant worm is beneath the sand. The creature slowly moves towards them from behind. Suddenly, the worm shows itself in front of the group and attacks them, catching one of them in its body.

"Aghhhh... help!!!" one participant cries out. "How in the world does a worm grow that large?"

Another creature is seen moving beneath the sand.

"What is that? Don't tell me it's another giant worm," one participant says.

The creature reveals itself as another giant worm, but this one is hairy and spews a fluid that melts the sand upon contact.

The group quickly runs away from the creature, but it continues to follow them.

Suddenly, the creature stops chasing and the sand in the area where the group stands begins to sink, revealing it to be quicksand.

Some of the participants are able to get out and help the others, but it's too late for some. The survivors return to the forest as the beach proves to be too dangerous.

The survivors were terrified by the previous events and were shaking in fear.

"This island is crazy, people are really dying!" one of them exclaims.

"I don't want to participate in this examination anymore!" Some of the other participants join in, yelling "We don't want to participate in this examination anymore! Get us out of here! We quit!" But their calls for help go unanswered.

"What? So, we're really on our own?" one of them says in fear.

The scene switches to another group of participants, who are seen walking in the forest.

Suddenly, a voice is heard yelling "Someone help me please! Somebody please help me!"

The group rushes to where the voice is coming from, but when they arrive, they find no one there.

Suddenly, the ground begins to shrink, and steam is seen leaking from beneath the ground. Their feet become stuck as the soil shrinks, then they hear the human voice again, but this time it's coming from a bird. Birds continue to come and talk like humans.

The steam coming out of the ground emits a poisonous gas, and some of the participants become intoxicated while others are able to get out and escape the area.

The other group is seen arriving in an area covered in a yellowish mist. As they continue to walk through it, some members experience sudden headaches and dizziness.

Minutes later, other members are seen drooling and behaving oddly. When one member tries to approach them, they become aggressive and attack them.

It appears that the yellowish mist is caused by spores being spread by mushrooms on the island, causing hallucinations and aggressive behavior in those who inhale it.

The group is seen running away from the mist to escape its effects.

Some groups were also seen escaping from giant mosquitoes.

Meanwhile, Freed's group has encountered the hybrid monkeys.

These monkeys possess the intellect of a human warrior and are armed with weapons such as swords, spears, clubs, morning stars, bows, and arrows. They are on par with Freed's group in terms of fighting skills. Their leader is a gorilla with a great axe.

As they fought, two tigers and a lion arrived on the scene, who were in conflict with the monkeys over territory. The lion injured the gorilla with one blow, and the two tigers also attacked the other monkeys. The monkeys were at a disadvantage in the fight as they were already exhausted from fighting Freed's group.

Freed defended the gorilla from the lion, and Shon also joined in to defend their territory. After hours of fighting, Freed and the monkeys were able to win the battle and drive the big cats away.

The monkeys were grateful for what Freed's group had done and brought them to their hideout, where they offered them food and joyfully greeted them.

The elder monkey, a mandrill, was able to communicate with humans and thanked them wholeheartedly. He asked what they were doing on the island, and Freed explained that they were on an examination and needed to find a way to the beachfront where their airship was located.

After a short meeting, the elder monkey agreed to guide them to the beachfront.

Uriel observed the entire scenario and appeared dissatisfied.

"This isn't enjoyable at all. Let's make it even more exciting!" he said with a sinister expression.
