Chapter 694

Chapter 694:

“Mr. Shaw, surely you know many people want you dead,” Allison replied, sighing as if it were the most obvious answer.

Still, she managed a weak laugh as she activated her voice changer. It dropped to a raspy male tone, then climbed to a high, pleading whine.

“I wonder,” she said mockingly, “what it is about that cleaner you like so much. Her face? Should I peel it off and wear it for you?”

Verruckt immediately recognized that she was using a voice changer to imitate someone else. Despite this, his mind betrayed him, conjuring a vision of Alice’s face.

His heart raced, and for a moment, he even thought the assassin in front of him was the cleaner Alice. Their faces seemed to overlap, slowly transforming into Subject 001’s face.

Subject 001, after all, always made him lose control.

“You’re really asking for trouble,” he hissed.

It was the opening Allison needed. In one swift motion, her hand darted toward his waist, snatching the vial with practiced precision.

With her prize secured, she shifted tactics, slamming her knee hard into his ribs.

“Sorry, Mr. Shaw,” she said through gritted teeth. “I’m not dying today.”

The force of her strike elicited a pained grunt from Verruckt.

He staggered, his grip loosening just enough for her to break free.

She knew it wasn’t safe enough now. She immediately threw a knife at him, forcing him to retreat further to avoid it.

Seizing the opportunity, she lunged at him, catching him off guard and knocking him out. Verruckt crumpled to the floor with a loud thud. Allison didn’t pause to savor her victory. She spun on her heel, bolting for the door and slamming it shut behind her to ensure Verruckt couldn’t re-enter the room.

Outside, Verruckt twisted and struggled, fury blazing in his eyes. He never imagined that he would fall victim to this woman’s tactics twice. But now, he faced an even greater crisis.

Having appeared unexpectedly in the high-security corridor, the defense system activated, and the infrared sensors immediately locked onto him, launching a barrage of shots. Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—

Verruckt quickly flipped to dodge, narrowly avoiding being sliced in half.

“Perfect,” he muttered, a dangerous smile spreading across his face.noveldrama

It had been years since he’d felt such a thrill. The stakes, the danger — it was intoxicating.

His eyes narrowed as he stared into the dark room. “You can’t escape.”

Allison sat in the corner of the room, tending to her wounds with hurried, shaky hands. Hearing Verruckt’s words, she didn’t flinch. Instead, she calmly replied, “Mr. Shaw, you should worry about staying alive before anything else.”
