Chapter 378

Hendrix agreed to hand over the Continental Reach project to Nathan. Moreover, during the board meeting, he affirmed Nathan's capabilities, putting on an act of brotherly affection.

Nathan seemed a little surprised but only responded with a shy smile.

Once the meeting was over, Hendrix returned to his office.

Nathan followed him in.

"These are all the documents related to the Continental Reach project. Mr. Vance has already taken over. He's very experienced. If you have any questions, just ask him directly."

"Alright. Thanks... Hendrix."

Hendrix's lips curled up a little. "In the company, you should address me as Mr. Freeman."

"Oh, alright." Nathan nodded immediately.

Just then, Craig's call came through.

Hendrix waved to dismiss Nathan before picking up the call "Hello?"

"Hendrix." Craig's voice was warm and friendly. "Have you been busy lately?"

Hendrix sneered silently. It was only natural for Craig to be friendly with him.

Not long ago, Hendrix had personally covered the financial hole left by Elm Group. Without that, the company wouldn't have been able to file for proper bankruptcy procedures.

Hendrix didn't care about the money. To him, it was just numbers on a screen, and in return, he had secured his marriage with Noelle. He might as well consider it a wedding gift.

Now, Elm Group was entirely under Amity Group's control, but Craig clearly didn't care. Lately, he seemed busy with a new energy project.

Although new energy was a trending industry, technical challenges were abundant. Only a handful of companies had mastered the technology. Everyone else was just picking up the scraps. And at this stage, if Craig wanted in, he wouldn't even get any leftovers.noveldrama

Hendrix was aware of his moves but didn't say much. He simply responded, "Not too bad. What do you need?"

"Well, I have a document I'd like you to review. Can you take a look?"

"Oh? Send it over, then."

"Are you at the office? I can come over-"

I don't have time to meet right now," Hendrix interrupted "I'm heading to a construction site soon. Just send it over, and I'll review it on the way."

"Oh, alright. Sorry to trouble you."

"Don't mention it."

With that, Hendrix hung up.

Shortly after, Craig sent over the document.

Just from the first page, Hendrix found it rather laughable,

A 30% return rate. In today's market, that was nothing short of a joke.

But as he read further, he realized the proposal was actually well-structured. The details were thorough

and realistic. No wonder even someone as experienced as Craig had fallen for it.

Now, things were getting interesting. Who had put together such a polished investment plan to lure Craig

into at trap? More importantly, what was there to gain from targeting him at this point?

Hendrix had a hunch that this was not about Craig at all, and the target might very well be himself. With that thought, he immediately called Craig.

"I skimmed through the document. Who gave this to you? can you

tell me?"

"Oh, there's nothing to hide. It was Maxwell and Sandra. What do you think of the project?" Craig replied. Maxwell...

To be honest, Hendrix had nearly forgotten about him.

His eyes narrowed slightly, and then, he let out a light chuckle. "Got it. I'll take a closer look and give you an answer tonight."
