CHAPTER 26: TOO MUCH TALENT
Colonel Clover’s fun was brought to a halt by a line of students all having a spell on the ready.
The crowd of students and teachers in the stance erupted as they saw the daring attempt to stop the colonel.
“Fire!”
A command was given by a young man with blond hair leading the charge of students. His sword that was pointed towards the sky and his glowing golden gauntlets made it clear who he was to the colonel.
“ A Raizer.”
The colonel scoffed.
“and ofcourse their stupid golden artifacts.”
Clover looked at the wall of elemental magic being thrown at him and spat on the floor in disappointment.
‘Nothing above second circle magic it seems.’
With a stomp of his feet the marble stage was broken.
Stone and dirt erupted from the cracks providing a shield for the colonel. The magic attacks collided with the stone. When the dust subsided Colonel Clover was nowhere to be seen.
The air grew silent as both the students and audience tried to find where the Clover was.
The silence was broken when Clover appeared behind the line of students. With a giant clap of his hands a powerful blast erupted at the line of students and sent them flying.
“No concept of defense or covering blind spots. All they know is attack…”
Clover shook his head and was about to move on when he saw that the boy of the Raizer family was still standing.
The boy was barely standing, his golden sword seemed to be doing the majority of the standing he was leaning against it to keep conscious.
His gauntlet had a faint glow, obviously it absorbed the majority of the blow. That was the only reason he was left standing.
Clover was still impressed by his tenacity and knowing that he was already barely keeping conscious and decided to move on.
Colonel Clover smirked when he saw another set of students.
This group of seven students had formed a circle and amidst the dust and debris they all stared in a different direction with spells chanting under their breaths. They were waiting for an attack from any side.
The silence was torn when a tumb was heard,
“A great idea! but a battle has four dimensions, not two!”
When the students looked to the center of the circle; that their backs had been facing, the mad teacher was already there with palms open wide.
Before they could scream they were all already teleported to the stands with faces swollen.
Clover smirked at the site of the teleported students until he sensed a slight fluctuation in the mana within the air.
Clover tried to jump back but a geyser of bright rose pink flames erupted from below and tried to engulf him.

While in mid air a female appeared behind him. Her flowing pink hair and cold expression stunned even the instructor.
She swung a sword made of rose pink flames and in an instant Colonel Clover’s perception of the world came to creep. Every movement seems to take a lifetime within itself.
‘Who is this talented student?
using her colleges as a trap to set me ablaze, and knowing that I would dodge lay waiting for me to catch me by surprise?
This lady might just be a battle prodigy, not to mention that between the fire trap and her sword those are both at least fourth circle spells.’
Using the slowed time to his advantage, Clover grabbed the wrist of her hand and threw her over his shoulders towards the floor while still in mid air.
“But as with all great magicians, you lack hand to hand combat abilities.”
The moment he thought that a burst of bright pink flames erupted from the girl’s back and shot her back into the air at Colonel Clover.
She gripped her sword again while flying at the colonel who was still falling.
‘Not bad she’s got the right idea.
Just missing a few elements.’
Colonel Clover turned slightly in midair and watched as the girl was about to fly past him before changing his mind and yanking her by the back of her collar and into the ground.
Colonel Clover landed and looked in the girl's direction as she landed and slammed the ground. He hoped she would pull another trick from her sleeve but to his disappointment she hit the marble floor and was teleported to the stance.
Meanwhile Alric kept his distance from Colonel Clover. He watched as he knocked student after student out.
He had originally hoped to attack while his guard was down, but after seeing the pink haired female try and fail he reconsidered.
Alric wanted to study his fighting style in hopes of a weakness, but once again the truth was disappointing. Colonel Clover’s brute strength was uncanny, and he showed no sign of tiring.
Alric had no idea how to fight such a monster, even with his contract he would not stand much of a chance.
Alric began to feel disheartened at the task before him. Alric’s depressing state was reversed the moment he saw another group of students come to challenge the tyrannical professor.
The Colonel watched as a line of five students formed up. Leading them was Yonder the silver haired youth with sharp blue eyes, as he rushed forward his speed picked up.
What surprised the colonel however was the fact that even after getting this close he still did not mumble any spells.
It was not until he reached point blank range that Yonder shouted
‘Icy wings!’
With just a shout a beautiful shimmering silver wing of an angel sprouted from his back and flapped in front of Yonder.
The Colonel's eyes opened wide as a freezing current of air attacked him.
‘Warlock Magic!’
He thought to himself. He raised both his hands to guard against the attack.
The chilling winds pushed Clover back a meter while causing frostbite to gather on his hands that guarded his face. Meanwhile Yonder was blown away by his own attack.
His body skipped as he was blown away by the backlash. Between the large mana that he consumed and the blowback of his attack, Yonder Silverwing immediately lost consciousness and was teleported into the stands.
Meanwhile, the rest of the students took the opportunity and barraged the colonel with elemental attacks.
The cluster of attacks caused dust, smoke and debris to float about creating a dense fog that blocked the students' vision. They all paused their attacks waiting for the dust to settle.
The dust began to settle and the students strained their visions hoping to see the body of the professor. They saw only a deep hole in the floor then a loud crackling was heard.
The Colonel jumped out from below ground and threw rocks at each of the students in the encirclement.
He threw the rocks like a gatling gun knocking each student out before they could even react.’
Before long the whole encirclement was sent back into the stance.
“And then there was one.”
Said colonel Clover as he walked closer to the rock Alric was hiding behind.
‘Damn it! I’ve been watching him this whole time and I couldn't find a single weakness.’
Alric thought before crawling out and walking with both his hands in the air.
“Alright you’ve got me, I’ll take my knock out peacefully.”
