Soon after an instructor began the appraising by checking the aptitude of children and then announcing their names along with their talent. One by one the line was moving forward.
At one side of the platform three elders of the academy were watching the process carefully, "There are atleast 50% more candidates for this years appraisal test from the last year" said eler Mo, he was watching the process carefully as he was the senior most elder at the academy. Besides him a beautiful and young woman looking in her twenties commented "the over all talent grade is also higher this time many of them are with good grade talent" she was elder Wang the youngest elder at the academy with an excellent grade talent.
The new students were going to get enrolled into the classes of these three elders so they were happy about the situation, suddenly the announcement made a huge commotion "Zhang Hong excellent grade talent" as the three elders heard the announcement they looked at the youth, he was the heir to one of the three major families ruling the chuntian region. " As expected of the heirs of three great families an excellent grade is rare in whole of the Eastern state to think we would have one besides elder wang in our academy" said elder yang admiringly. All the elders noded smilingly it was a good news for their acadmy.

"Huo ling average grade talent" the instructor announced pulling Huo out of his daze. He was now in a storm of different emotions he was disappointed but not surprised as he expected something like this still he was feeling sad but at the same time he was also feeling relaxed that it was not the trash grade atleast , among all these emotions he left the platform and went to his mother's side.

With his somewhat disappointed face Huo said " mother it was the second last grade talent" after thinking something he then added "but I will work hard and become strong, stronger then those with excellent grade talent" as he said this his face had a yearning expression for power, being a father less child from low household they faced many challenges from the society and this had made him realise how important strength was to live.
"Now that is more like it, donot get disappointed son as I said earlier if you are smarter then others and do hard work you can get strong. Atleast you can start your journey now the height you will reach will be determined by you" his mother said to him she was a very determined and strong lady despite the passing of her husband in a beast attack she struggled and raised Huo ling, she faced many problems but she was strong headed and ignored them reaching the somewhat stable life they were having. Huo looked at his mother and his determination got more strengthened "so what if my talent is low i will help mother get a relaxed and peaceful life by getting strong , i will not let her work at the fields and neighbours shop again, i will become strong very strong so no one ca bully us like in the past" he thought to himself thinking of times in the past.
The test was now getting to an end at the elders side : Elder Mo said "This year is very good for our academy Zhang Hong , Li Qing both have excellent grade talent it is the first time in our academie's history that we have two excellent garde disciples at the same time". Elder Wang agreed and added "besides those two Chen Chang from chen family and Liu Bao from Liu family are also geniuses both having good grade talent and their good grade talent is also very near the Excellent grade". Elder Yang also smiled and noded "other students are also good we have more than 15 good grades this year." He then stepped to the front of the platform and announced "the appraisal test is over now, the youngsters which are average grade and above will be students of the academy now and can join tomorrow they will look for their classes and report tomorrow" he then joined other elders and left.
The elders were unaware that at some corner of the ground a child with his navie mind and solid determination was having thoughts and ambition to challenge the heavens and who else can this young man be, it was Huo Ling with a big fire of ambition in his heart looking forward to his new life, from tomorrow.
