Chapter 22

Saffron nodded, heartened by Dagiel’s words. They knew that the road ahead would be long and difficult, but they were determined to overcome this setback and emerge victorious against the Titans. Together with the other angels, they would work to rebuild and fortify the camp, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

Zena looked up at Saffron, her curiosity piqued. “What are the Nomadic Titans?” she asked.

Saffron took a deep breath and explained. “The Nomadic Titans are a fearsome and dangerous group of creatures. They are unlike anything you’ve ever seen before,” he said. “They have large, bony eyes that survey their surroundings, a pig-like nose, and a small mouth that is filled with razor-sharp teeth and a forked tongue.”

Zena’s eyes widened as she listened. “But that’s not all,” Saffron continued. “They cover their head in soft hair, and they have short, round ears on each side. Their body is long and slender, hunched over, with two thick, crooked arms that end in massive hands with short fingers. They have ten fingers in total.”

Saffron took a moment to pause before continuing. “Their legs are wide and straight, with long hooves at the end. Their body is covered in skin that resembles wood, and their shoulders are broader than their pelvis. They also have a fanned tail that sways back and forth,” he finished.

Zena listened in awe as Saffron described the terrifying features of the Nomadic Titans. She couldn’t imagine encountering such a creature in battle, but she knew that as an angel, she was prepared to face any challenge that came her way.

Saffron could see the confusion in Zena’s eyes as he finished describing the Nomadic Titans. He continued, “They are a formidable race, known for their strength and aggression. They travel in nomadic groups and often raid nearby settlements for resources and supplies. They have been a thorn in our side for years, and, we were surprised this time.”

Dagiel chimed in, “We could fight them off, but not without heavy casualties. We lost many of our soldiers, and the damage to the field will take a long time to repair.”

Saffron could feel the weight of the news on his shoulders.

They had been so focused on their mission to find Feral Lich that they hadn’t realized the danger that was lurking right next to their base.

Zena spoke up. “What can we do to help?”

Dagiel looked at her. “We could use all the help we can get. We need to fortify our defenses and make sure we are prepared for any further attacks.”

Saffron nodded in agreement, “We will do whatever it takes to protect our home and our people.”

And with that, they set off to do what they could to help their fellow angels in the face of this new threat.

They received a warning that Feral Lich and his army were en route, and they knew they had to act fast to prepare for the impending attack.

Because of her current appearance, Zena could not use her protection powers in battle. Dagiel instructed her to seek Byron and ask if he could change her back to her original form. He also warned her of the upcoming battle and suggested that Byron might want to leave for his safety.

Zena located Byron and informed him of the impending attack. To her surprise, he remained calm and stated that he was aware of the situation. He had already foreseen the battle a few days prior.

Byron clasped Zena’s hand and spoke in a solemn tone, “When the day comes that the mountain shrinks, the lost one shall usher forth bloodshed of blue blood and the rise of mankind.”Zena felt a surge of energy coursing through her body, and as she looked down, she saw her appearance had returned to normal. However, when she turned to thank Byron, he had vanished, leaving her feeling both confused and mystified by his cryptic words.

Zena sought Dagiel, knowing she needed to prepare for the upcoming battle. When she found him, she asked if she could speak with him. Dagiel nodded with interest. Zena hesitated for a moment before telling him about what Byron had said to her before transforming her back into her normal appearance. “When the day comes that the mountain shrinks, the lost one shall usher forth bloodshed of blue blood and the rise of mankind,” she repeated, hoping that Dagiel might have some insight into the mysterious message.

Dagiel furrowed his brow in deep thought, and his eyes narrowed as he tried to make sense of Byron’s cryptic message. After a moment, he spoke in a grave tone, “That is an old prophecy, one that has been spoken of in angelic lore for centuries. It is said to be a sign of a great conflict, where the fate of both angels and humans hangs in the balance.”
