Chapter 18

The surrounding voices became clearer, and she recognized the sound of familiar people speaking. She strained to make out the words, but they were garbled and confusing.

And then, she felt a familiar hand touch her face, and she opened her eyes to see Dagiel’s face looking down at her. She felt a sense of relief wash over her as she realized she was being carried into his arms.

The wind blew against her cheek, and she knew that her broken body would heal. She closed her eyes and focused on the feeling of Dagiel’s warmth and strength as he carried her toward safety.

Despite the pain that wracked her body, Zena felt a sense of calm wash over her. She knew she was in excellent hands and that she would make a full recovery. With that thought, she let herself slip into unconsciousness, content knowing that she was safe and loved.

Days passed, and Zena regained her strength. She was grateful for the healing powers of the Asmodel angels, which had helped mend her broken body. With each passing day, she grew stronger, both physically and mentally.

As she lay in her bed, she thought about the battle and the events that had led up to it. She knew it was only a matter of time before she would have to face Feral Lich again, but this time, she was determined to emerge victorious.

When Zena regained consciousness, she found herself in a small, lit room. The scent of burning herbs filled her nostrils, and she felt a dull ache all over her body. As her vision cleared, she saw Saffron sitting next to her bed, his face contorted with anger and worry.

“You stupid girl,” he scolded her. “What were you thinking, charging towards Feral Lich like that? You had no business fighting him.”

Zena opened her mouth to argue, but the pain in her chest made her gasp. Saffron’s anger dissipated as he realized how much pain she was in. He softened his tone and began tending to her wounds.

As he worked, Zena tried to explain herself. “I had to fight him, Saffron,” she said. “He’s responsible for so much death and destruction. I couldn’t just stand by and watch.”

Saffron sighed, his hands gentle as he applied a healing balm to her wounds. “I know, Zena,” he whispered. “But you have to be more careful. You’re strong, but you’re not invincible.”

Zena nodded, feeling chastened. She knew that Saffron cared about her, and the thought of worrying him made her feel guilty. “I’m sorry,” she whispered.

Saffron gave her a small smile. “It’s alright,” he said. “Just promise me you’ll think twice before putting yourself in harm’s way like that again.”

Zena nodded again, feeling grateful for Saffron’s forgiveness and understanding. As she drifted off to sleep, she knew she had learned a valuable lesson: that strength was not just about physical power, but also about making wise choices and looking out for those who cared for her.

According to Saffron, after Feral Lich struck Zena and sent her flying, he could land a blow on the enemy commander’s side, causing him some injury. Baraqil and some other angels also joined the fight against Feral Lich, but despite their combined efforts, the enemy commander escaped. I have not seen him since that day, but they believe he is still alive.

Zena’s mind raced as she considered the information Saffron had shared with her about Feral Lich’s escape. She knew they had to find him and put an end to his reign of terror once and for all. But how?

As she pondered this, Saffron spoke up, breaking her train of thought. “We need to come up with a plan,” he said. “We can’t just wait around for Feral Lich to strike again.”

Zena nodded, grateful for Saffron’s leadership. “Do you have any ideas?” she asked.

Saffron stroked his chin. “Well, we know Feral Lich is still alive, which means he’s probably hiding out somewhere. If we can track him down, we might catch him off guard and defeat him.”

Zena nodded in agreement. “But how do we track him down?” she asked.

Saffron leaned forward, his eyes gleaming with determination. “We start by gathering information,” he said. “We talk to people, gather intelligence, and piece together a picture of where Feral Lich might be hiding. And then we strike.”

Zena nodded, impressed by Saffron’s strategy. “That sounds like a solid plan,” she said. “But we have to be careful. Feral Lich is dangerous, and we can’t afford to make any mistakes.”

Saffron nodded in agreement. “Agreed. We’ll have to move quietly and quickly, and stay one step ahead of him at all times.”

Zena took a deep breath, feeling a surge of determination. “Let’s do it,” she said. “Let’s put an end to Feral Lich’s reign of terror once and for all.”

Saffron grinned. “I knew you were the right person for the job,” he said. “Let’s get started.”
