Where was she? What was going on? She was confused and a little tired. The last thing she remembered was falling asleep after triggering Boundless Cat Slumber, her new best skill. And now she was awake, tired and wounded. Wasn't purring meant to heal her? No, there was blood and body parts. She must have killed them all. Had they attacked her? That will was poking at her mind, telling her to look at it. She did.

*Your dungeon has been threatened. You have awakened.

*Boundless Cat Hunger has activated. Mind decreased by 5.

*You are berserking. Mind decreased by 1.

*You have slayn 35 Lesser Ether Leeches and 2 Cave Goblins, ranging from level 1 to 5. You have earned 1230 Killpoints.

*Achievement earned: It's Over 1000! For earning 1000 Killpoints in one go, your next five levelups will give +25% stats. All decimal points will be turned to raw energy.

*You currently have 1230 Killpoints to spend. Choose what to spend them on:

•1: Expurrience: 1 Killpoint = 1 Xpurr

•2: Cat Ascension Tokens (CAT): 1 Killpoint = 0.001.

•3: Claw-wards: cost to complete mew-tations varries, increasing by rarity and the current rank of the item being mew-tated.

*Achievement earned: Cat-astrophic Beginning. You have earned a tutorial dive into the basic mechanics of the CPP, as well as some advice from the Cattess on how to spend your Killpoints! You should be feline lucky, princess! Beginning Tutorial:

*Leveling is the act of saturating your body with heavy energy until it reaches a critical point, at which point it imbues your physical body with power, ascending to the next level. Reaching a level increases your stats, due to the ever-rising potency of the Ether flowing inside of you.

*Leveling your [Kitten] rank grants +1 attack, +2 agility, +1 furtitude, +1 purr-ception.

*A Cat Assension Token, or CAT for short, is a core of energy that can be used to evolve your species to a higher monster rank. It can be developed at a slow pace using Killpoints, but also develops on its own from the energy generated by leveling up, evolving and mew-tating. Each rank requires exponentially more energy to form a CAT.

*Claw-wards: Claw-wards are mewtations to parts of your body, making them stronger, more durable and granting them additional effects. This is only possible because you are a Harmonic Beast, a creature with a malleable body made of Ether mimicking biological matter like that of a monster, but you are a living creature with a soul. Mewtating generates considerably more energy to fuel the formation of a Cat than leveling up.

*Message from the Cattess: "Hi, dear. Good first hunt! Self Purr-fecting already guarantees your leveling advancement, and it will only rise with continued use. So I suggest that you spend your Killpoints on Mew-tations. You'll be getting the chance to apply them faster than any other Harmonic Beast due to the doubling of Killpoints. Great work, keep hunting, and Glory to the Cats!"

She was shocked by all these messages. She had killed 35 of something called Lesser Ether Leech, as well as two Cave Goblins. She could imagine the dead thing that looked like a small and terrible version of a human, though without the bloody gashes and torn throat. That must be the Cave Goblin, though the significance of the term itself flew over her head. But she didn't know what a Leech was, and she didn't see anything else in the space she was in, which she wanted to call Lazerpointer's house. Judging by the heavy feeling in her body, she had eaten them all.

Now for the Killpoints. She had too many, how many tens was 1230? Ten was the number of the human claws that weren't sharp, so she used it as a baseline. Thirty was three tens, and thirty-five was three tens and a half, as in three humans with their skypaws outstretched and another human with only one skypaw opened. They were paws that weren't used to walk on, so they were skypaws. A hundred was ten humans with open skypaws. A thousand should be... a hundred humans with open skypaws. Two hundred was twenty humans, and thirty, again, was three humans with open skypaws. That was... one hundred twenty-three humans' worth of non-sharp claws!

And then, the Cattess? Again? The System was right; she was indeed feeling lucky. A suggestion from her was like an order that Pawline would follow for all time. Now she knew what this leveling was. It increased her stats, but she would always gain Xpurr with her Self Purr-fecting skill. And if skills rose in rank through use, then she'd gain more Xpurr even faster. And she didn't even bother trying to understand how low the conversion rate was from Killpoints to CAT progress. It was less than one, for God's sake! Anything less than one was not worth investing in when something better was possible and much more feasible!

*You have selected Claw-wards. Please select the category of mew-tations to buy.

*Eyes: 0, maw: 0, crown: 0, noze: 0, throat: 0, heart: 0, blood: 0, stomach: 0, fur: 0, claws: 0, paws: 0.

Crown sounded nice, all royal and stuff, so she selected it.

•Crown of the Cat: Allows you to command all cats lesser than you. They will instantly and inexorably fulfil your orders and assemble to your service. Glory to the Cat Hord! Cost: 1200 Killpoints.

She instantly selected it. She hit the mental button so many times that the confirmation message didn't have the chance to appear. Pain wracked her head
