2: An Un-fur-gettable Agony and a Mew Beginning

Lapo was hurting, hurting so much. Lapo didn't know which was the better option between its earlier emmotional agony and this spiritual one. No, this pain represented both; Lapo definitely preferred the old one. But Lapo could not find sollace, as the pain struck at its spirit and reminded it of the pain the dogmasked caused it at the same time.

Lapo remembered its coreform getting intercepted in the middle of transitioning from a human-like shape to a living tangle of lines and brades. The evil demons that called themselves humans had not only siphened most of the energy that flowed through these lines, which were parts of its body, but they had cut away some of the lines themselves and melted them into energy, then threw Lapo away to continue what they had interrupted. The broken lines had gone dormant and silent as life fled them, leaving Lapo to grieve for the rest of its long life.

But now these lines were awakening, as energy flowed through them once again. The energy was solid inside, like a will was inhabiting it. That will spoke.

*Error! Core matrix is damaged, unable to continue bonding process. Attempting to repair and reform broken pathways... Note: intelect is decreasing due to the spiritual damage.

Pain, more pain. Lapo was breaking inside. The humans, the humans did this toLapo. The humans had to pay. Lapo had been intent on making its dungeon ethical, on risking its life to trap devils for the adventurers to fight and harvest. It had wanted to help the humans, and now they had ruined its life and were the indirect cause of its pain. It would ruin them for that if it ever got the chance!

The conviction rippled outward in the form of a dark, boiling energy, and the will spoke in reaction.

*New element is forming: Human enmity. Warning: elements will influence the formation of your new pathways!

Lapo did not care. Lapo didn't have mercy for beings that repayed good intentions with cruelty. Lapo was almost too far gone, its central light pulsing in pleasure at the almost completed element.

"No! Revenge is only against your enemies! We are becoming together! We'll fight the dogs together, all the dogs!", a small voice drifted into its darkening mind, not the voice of the will. It was what the energy had originated from, the will only being there to help the process. It charged Lapo's central light with a burst of energy that shook it, like cold water waking a human up, clarity returned slightly. Lapo realized it didn't want to kill all humans. It knew for a fact that some humans loved dungeons and helped the cores and even other spirits. It would only seek its tormenters, and all who stood in Lapo's way would be Lapo's food!

*The Dungeon System has recognized a communication attempt between the bond parties. Finalizing new pathways...

Lapo's pain disappeared as its mind was whisked through the tunnel of power that connected it with the dog-hating voice,. and it knew this creature. She was a cat who hated dogs, had an unusual mind, and was neutral to humans as a whole, but leaning towards liking one of them. That was why she had awakenedLapo from the darkness. Lapo couldn't sense its domain, but with her help, it would be able to. Lapo wanted a helper, but most importantly it wanted a friend who could remove the pain of loneliness.

*Element formed: The Felineship of the Core (System laughs)

Pawline was hurting inside, her head and heart feeling like a cat had reacted to catnip and started thrashing them. She was the cat, but still it hurt. She distracted herself from the bad sensation by focusing on her energy senses.

A thread of energy extended out of her and into the red-glowing pretty rock that was still in contact with her paw after she'd stepped on it. Something prowled inside the thread, like a human ensuring that a rope was fit for feline use. She felt the rock's agony, marveling at a gem being alive. No, it wasn't alive; but a spirit bound to a crystalized natural formation. She knew more about it. It was a young thing called a spirit, which was a creature whose body was made of energy. Its name was Lapo, but Pawline would just call it lazerpointer, due to its glow. Lazerpointer had been captured by dog humans who'd hurt it and made it blind and lonely. Her feline heart was moved, and she instantly felt sorry for the little thing. Anything that hated dogs was worth protecting, especially if it also looked like the pinnacle of cat toy fassion.

She suddenly felt Baazhh influence on the little rock, those Baazhhes were evil demonlike things that tried to corrupt emmotions of a weakening soul. She reached out with her mind like she had with that human child back in the pack of homes and told Lazerpointer that she would help it fight the dogs. Its mind destroyed the Baazhh, and it saw her just like she had seen it. Energy streamed out of her and into Lazerpointer's rock, making the glow bigger and brighter. It was no longer a normal-seeming lazer pointer, but she was fond of the name, so it would always be Lazerpointer.

The rock also grew a little, her energy transforming into a bunch of knots that only a human, or something as crazy as one, would make. Those knots drew back into the rock, making it grow. Then energy rushed out of it and into her. It swam through her body and solidified into a small rock, then merged with her heart.

She almost felt reborn from the power streaming into her and improving her body and mind. Furthermore, she became connected to a large space, the cavern she had followed to find Lazerpointer. Her mind was innundated with a presence that purred at her in contentment and meowed in pride. Her mood soared higher than her energy at that moment, and she was almost certain that she could catch the fastest and highest-flying birds with it.

*You have bonded with a damaged dungeon core, repairing it in a unique way. By integrating yourself into its matrix, you have evolved into being the sense of a senseless core, a shareholder of its power. The Cat approves of your step toward Dominion. Congratulations!
