Tongues, giant tongues thicker than a human’s leg erupted from the ground, the dozen or so pink appendages dance in circular patterns licking the trees nearby and grabbing the lizards too slow to move out of the way… which is most of them. On the other side is Gorger, a book in his hand and a weird bright orange symbol floating in front of his forehead.
This is one of the more impressive abilities of the book, not only is it full of multiple spells but it also has an special enchantment, when used it gives a spell charge to the wielder and lets them use any spell in the book, without having to properly learn it.
The symbol fizzles out together with the giant tongues, the lizards are all mostly dead, the tongues break pretty much all of their bones, almost like giant snakes. Gorger, along with a lot of other undead, are claiming territory in the lizard side of the greenhouse.
For some reason the Lizards have been very very quiet recently, to the point where they even stopped the constant skirmishes, this is deeply suspicious for me so I decided to start serious preparations for advancing deeper into the enemy dungeon. I am mostly worried that the Dungeon found less contested territory and is moving its efforts there, or perhaps it is actually running away from me. Although I do not like my scaly enemy I would much prefer it to stay near me, where I can see its actions, than away from my vision where it can do anything it wants, that seems like it would come back to bite me in my non-existent ass.
Right now I am just taking territory, seeing possible routes of attacks, defensible positions, that kind of thing. Gorger is… well I told him to read and try to practice his spells, which he is technically doing, since the enchantment does help you understand the spells used a bit better, though I would have prefered him learning the standard way. He’s not the most studious type, he did like the book though, he even tried to show off to Merlin, trying to spark his jealousy which didn’t work at all, probably because Merlin knows that I will eventually give him the book anyway, speaking of him.

Once again, both him and Stinger are facing each other, Merlin looks different this time, he has a black shroud with pieces of purple crystals floating inside, the black smoky mantle moves, enveloping his right hand in it then it solidifies into five large curved claws made from necrotic energy as a body and the purple crystals as an edge. He swipes his hand in her direction and the hand connecting to the claws explodes sending the five blades flying towards her.
In a single movement, a single step forwards, Stinger uses her elbow, hand and knee to deflect the flying blades just slightly away from her body, recently she’s been trying to use {Iron Arm Block} and {Palm Shield} with other parts of her body, looking at the damage on her I can see she’s not quite there yet. I turn my vision towards the devil skeleton and see they are still absorbing imps, though now the inside of their skull is blazing with demonic fire. I move my vision again, this time going to my maze and upwards to the second maze floor.
Calling this a ‘maze’ is kind of a stretch, since it’s just a large bare room, but it is going to be a maze in the future. Right now I have also been going upwards, mostly excavating around and seeing what I find in the rocks around my core room. Right now there are five maze floors, and I also want to make one of them a boss room. I even have an idea of who’s going to be the boss of it and a cool idea for a boss room. I think I am going to put a bunch of water in the mazes, necrotic water, this way not only will the invaders be inside a dark, damp, claustrophobic maze full of weird statues but they will also have their feet and legs soaked to the bone, maybe literally if they don’t have a way to deal with all the necrotic energy. The enemies would be small fish inside the water and something walking on the ceiling, Kaiman is already making some arachnid bonebeasts and testing them.
The boss would probably be the Floating ring of skulls, inside the corridors of the maze dodging their beams would be pretty irritating, plus their shields are large enough to block the corridor completely, I still have to understand the {Boss Room} skill fully, but I can already tell that the ‘Room’ size depends on the level of the minion, if I could…I think I could make the ‘Boss Room’ be part of the five maze floors, maybe the center of the rooms?
I am not going to focus fully on this for now, the excavation is more about finding other ores and such, more importantly, I really want to see if the lizards are up to something, it was always so… savage and mindless, just rushing to attack me at any opportunity, now that it stopped I just feel like it’s lining up a jump straight at my jugular.
