Core Refinement
The process of refining your dungeon core, making it better and stronger. Refining your core will improve all of your aspects, from your skills to your mana, and your ability to communicate.
Dungeon Core
The true body of a Dungeon, the dungeon core not only houses the dungeon's consciousness but also its skill and Domains.
Dungeon Domains
All dungeons have at least one Domain, this is what defines the monsters a dungeon can summon, create and control naturally.
Dungeon
Dungeon is the name given to areas that have been changed by a dungeon core.
Hidden Quest
An event in which the system is observing and plans to reward once completed.
Quests
A mission given by the system for the worthy.
They weren’t kidding about my skills being stronger now.
My plan… went a little wild, just a little off the rails. It did succeed though, in fact, the rewards were a lot better than expected. Although I am probably going to leave my next session of refinement for the distant future.
Bone Horror LV1
{Touch of Rot}
Magically induce rot in all organic beings this minion touches.
{Miasma}
Noxious necrotic energy pollutes the air all around this minion.
{Aura of Fear}
Beings inside of the aura are easier to scare and terrify.
{Necrotic Regeneration}
Regenerates from necrotic energy.
Cult Initiate LV1
Squire LV1
This was one of my little projects, I threw the lizard corpses in a pile and connected them, skin and bone, and was letting it absorb all the necrotic energy around. I was expecting a big hulking beast and the reward seems to have given that to me. Even better in fact. The undead monster I am observing is at least two meters tall, it has a stocky mass of connecting bones mimicking a gorillas body, its chest has thirteen pairs of ribs, all of them touching each other creating a armored thorax, the ribs also move constantly, shifting so as to not impair the great undead’s flexibility.
The two other distinct characteristics are the giant crocodile head this monster has and the fact that their entire body is covered in strips of flesh and lizard skin, all around them, some are hanging, others are wrapped around its body. I take a look at the bone horror’s hand and see it also walks like a gorilla; on its knuckles, and I can also see claws with greenish vapors coming out of it.
The other reward monster looks downright normal compared to it, it’s a stone minotaur, or rather, a stone skinned minotaur skeleton.
Minotaur Skeleton Chimera LV1
{Stone Skin}
Creates a skin of stone around the body, this skin regenerates when in contact with stone.

Squire LV1
Yup, The monster seems like a minotaur statue with large mole clawed paws, but it’s actually a Mole-Minotaur skeleton with stone skin, I do not think that this skin will survive much of combat, It will probably look pretty cool though, break the stone only to find a spooky skeleton staring at you. Though, I will say this minotaur seems… shy. He’s just standing there, with his hands, or well paws, on his lap like a kid trying to behave, it’s quite cute.
Now for the last minion change. I look at Merlin.
Dark Glint Skeleton LV13
{Black Mana Bone}
Absorbs all mana around and converts it into necrotic mana. The mana is stored in the bones, making them stronger.
{Death Gasp}
Quickly breath a large amount of mana. Can be used to steal mana.
{Basic Mana Manipulation}
This minion is able to control mana at a basic level, absorbing and expelling it from his body and being able to move it near his body.
{Necrotic Regeneration}
Regenerates from necrotic energy
{Spell Diamond Eyes : Death Ray}
Two magical diamonds with the power to send out a necrotic ray of mana.
Pale Death Cult Initiate LV5
{Necrotic Purity}
Necrotic spells are faster and stronger. Having other types of mana inside the body or spell will cause it to lose this effect. Necrotic mana is faster to absorb, and as long as it is the only type inside the body, it is denser.
Spell Squire LV3
{Death Ray}
Sends out a necrotic ray of mana
Damn that's really strong, in antiquity back in my world people did extreme things to get something like {Necrotic Purity}. Or well mana purity of any kind. Any of those benefits are already good, all three together? Simply incredible. It can be a little complicated, you are, at the end of the day, sacrificing flexibility and other types of magic to strengthen one type. Back in my earth people rarely did it with only one element, it was mostly forgoing other and just having a few, like wind and fire, or ice and water, and then forgoing using or absorbing mana of any other kind. Still, not exactly too much of a problem for now, but when Merlin grows and starts learning this could become a problem.
Spell Squire is also interesting, it’s the first time the Squire class has evolved, and it didn’t even hit Level 10, which I thought was a requirement for the changes. I still know too little of how this class thing works. Wait, now that my {Analyze} is stronger…
Pale Death Cult Initiate
An initiate in the Cult of Pale Death, this cult focuses on casting only Death and Undeath related spells.
Spell Squire
A squire who has been taught the beginnings of magic.
Hmmm, could this be the key to evolve the Squire class? Actively teaching someone? No, no, otherwise the skeleton soldiers would have evolved it already, I’ve practically taught them everything they know! Maybe I am thinking too much, maybe this class just evolved because the system forced it?
Squires generally served knights, they were apprentices and servants, kinda, they carried the knight’s stuff and did the things they were too “important” to do. Do I need a Knight to properly level the squire class? Or do I just need to do squire things, maybe just another warrior or soldier in a higher position of power, a stronger skeleton?
I will have some skeletons help others, maintain their equipment for them and such. I should also have Merlin help around with mana training for some skeletons.
Anyway, these three are interesting, very interesting, they are rewards that were transformed without my explicit consent, but they did turn out better than what I, probably, would’ve been able to create right now. Does this mean the system takes that in consideration? If I will like the rewards? Or was this just a fluke and next time the rewards are going to piss me off, a portal to hell as a reward, no take backs?
Ah, whatever. I’m going to name these two new guys. Now the minotaur seems obvious. I'm just going with the classic “Asterion” for him. Now the, uh, giant skeletal crocodile gorilla. Yeah, alright I’m calling you “Kaiman”.
Right, now then, I have a lot of shit to look into. First I take a closer look at my cave, or rather the engravings, that now are purple crystals. {Analyze}.
Necrotic Stained Quartz
Quartz suffused with necrotic energies, it grows by absorbing mana.
Interesting, this could be very, very useful for me. I am pretty sure these will eventually become pure necrotic quartz, they might even become some form of magical amethyst.
I see that all of the engravings and blood transformed into the magical quartz, so I have a lot of it right now, I can probably just shave it off the walls when it grows. Maybe I could use it to make gem coated skeletons? Also that…uh goop that came out of my body is nowhere to be seen, did it evaporate?
Whatever, I have more important things to do then think about the goop. It’s time to go and take a look at the dwarf room.
