This chapter is a bit on the shorter side, it was meant to be the usual length but I am being forced to go out and do some chores so I decided to upload it at this length. Don't worry, I am extremely motivated with all the ratings you guys gave me and I promise to release more chapters today.

After I had dumped all the people I ‘rescued’ back in the ballroom, everyone thanked me and showered me with praises, and I even got a smile from the telekinesis girl! I finally learned her name, which was Carmen, a rather sexy name which doesn’t go with her fierce personality at all in my opinion…
Half of the people in the ballroom were already asleep, with the other half on the verge of collapsing because of stress and fatigue. So, it was decided that everyone should fall asleep and get some rest, with some people keeping watch. I was pretty tired myself so I decided to fall asleep too. I fell asleep with everyone in the ballroom, making a show of how I trusted these guys enough to fall asleep with them instead of going away somewhere else. No idea if it did anything to improve my impression in their eyes or not…
The whole next day was spent with me combing the entire hotel once again, checking every nook and cranny for other survivors. This time, I managed to find two people, a brother and sister who had managed to climb up into the vents to stay alive. They were both twins and surprisingly both had the same ability of telepathy. They told me that they used this ability to communicate with each other without making any noise.
I brought them back to the ballroom without knocking them out and taking their blood. The reasons were because I didn’t want to keep appearing with unconscious people who just ‘happened’ to bump their heads somehow, and I wasn’t really sure if I wanted their ability or not. It is useful, certainly, but it’s mainly for people who stay close to each other, whereas I like to stay alone for as long as possible. I wasn’t sure if I actually needed this ability or not… but just so that I won’t regret it I decided to include them in the list of my ‘victims’ as well.
I also had the duty of getting food and water for everyone, but as this was a hotel food wasn’t much of an issue for now. There were a couple of bathrooms near the ballroom as well, so all our basic needs were being taken care of for now. Me and a few others had spent a few hours last night getting a lot of mattresses, blankets, pillows etc for everyone to sleep in comfortably too. All in all, everyone was feeling as relaxed as it was possible in this crazy situation, which made everyone drop their guards a bit and allowed me to make my plans for the night.
That night I had gotten first watch along with a group of 4 others. After I carefully made sure that everyone was asleep, I hid my presence and quickly knocked all the 4 others in a matter of seconds using my speed. Then, I proceeded to take out syringes and get to work. My main goal was to get abilities from 5 of these people from the ballroom, and of course the top of my list was Carmen.
I floated a few inches above ground to make sure I didn’t make any noise with my footsteps, and carefully made my way over to Carmen. I would have had trouble reaching her if I didn’t have my flight ability, as she was right in the middle of a group of about 20 women who were sleeping close to one another.
I flew over the top of everyone extremely slowly, so that I didn’t make them wake up by disturbing the air if I flew too fast. It took a good 5 minutes for me to reach her in the center of the group of women, as I was really moving too slow. But I didn't mind the slow speed of my flight, better to to this properly and succeed rather then rushing through it and messing it up...
After finally reaching her I slowly pricked her with a syringe on her arm and filled it up. I then healed her, waited a couple of minutes and then pricked her again with another syringe and filled it up too. Telekinesis was too valuable an ability, and I wanted to make sure that I absorbed plenty of it to make it as strong as possible for me.
I repeated the process a third time and filled another syringe before she started to stir a bit and I decided it was time to move on to other people.
I started to make my way slowly to another woman when I realized how stupid I was being. I had been floating just a bit above their heads all this time and thus I had been forced to move slow, but my stupid brain didn’t realize that I could just go up to the top of the ballroom and thus fly from one person to another much quicker and simply drop down on the specific person when I reached him/her.

Cursing myself for wasting so much time by moving slowly unnecessarily, I quickly climbed to the roof of the ballroom and proceeded to move on to the others…

About 20 minutes later I had done what I wanted to do, and apart from the 5 main people I took abilities from I also had taken blood from the telepathy twins. Although I had only taken three syringes full of blood from Carmen while only taking two each from everyone else apart from the telepathy twins. They both had the same ability, so I only took one from each of them to avoid making them wake up. I would have taken two from each of them but for some reason they started stirring as soon as I pricked them with the first syringe… either they were light sleepers or they were still tense so they couldn’t sleep too deeply…
During all this time of me extracting blood I had constantly kept watch over everyone else, and thankfully no one had woken up. At the end of it all I ended up with a whole bunch of full syringes and I got the 6 abilities I had wanted after drinking all that blood:
Blood successfully absorbed. Ability gained: Telekinesis. You will now be able to move things with your mind.
Blood successfully absorbed. Ability gained: Increased luck. Your luck has now been increased, as a result good things will happen more frequently for you.
Blood successfully absorbed. Ability gained: Lightning manipulation. You can now manipulate lightning and make it do what you wish.
Blood successfully absorbed. Ability gained: Ice manipulation. You will now be able to manipulate ice and make it do what you wish.
Blood successfully absorbed. Ability gained: Improved vision. Your vision has now improved, as a result you will now be able to see much clearer and much further then before.
Blood successfully absorbed. Ability gained: Telepathy. You will now be able to communicate with others using your mind, without having to make any noise.
Needless to say, I was extremely happy with gaining all these abilities. Obviously, telekinesis made me the most excited, but the rest of them were great for me too!
I got two variant elemental manipulations, ice and lightning, to use alongside my four basic elemental manipulations. I picked increased luck because extra luck is always good, and a lot of the games I had played always had influence from luck in one way or another. Improved vision was something that I had been wanting ever since I started to fly, because although I could see a lot from high in the air, I couldn’t make out many details. I had to go closer to whatever I wanted to see, which basically ruined the advantage flight gave me. Telepathy I got on a whim basically, I don’t know if it will be useful in the future or not but it seemed like a good ability to have so I got it.
After drinking all the blood I healed the other four guards so that the bumps on their heads disappeared, and they woke up one by one soon after. They assumed they had fallen asleep while keeping watch, and didn’t say anything in hopes that no one else noticed. All in all, it was a pretty successful night for me.
The time for a shift change came soon after, and the five of us were replaced by five others, including Carmen. I had healed everyone from whom I had taken the blood from, so there were no scars to see and thus they wouldn’t know what happened during the night.
I went to my corner of the ballroom and soon fell asleep, pleased with the way the night had gone.
