Prologue

Prologue

The visage of two extraordinarily powerful figures, the light and the dark, stand next to each other. To the left was a boy with black middle length hair, crescent markings that surround his neck and right side of his face, soul piercing purple eyes, and extremely pale skin. He was wearing a basic black shirt with a black cloak and black pants. In his hands were a scythe made of pure darkness, the darkness of humanity. Bearing the burden of hatred in his heart, he bared through it and used it a fuel to keep going. He knew he wasn't human anymore, but he doubted that he ever was one to begin with. He stood with a calm yet calculated expression on his face, unable to be read.

To his right was a girl with long yellow hair that seemed to radiate brighter than the pure light surrounding her. She had a crest mark that spread across her body, a symbol of hope for all good in the world. Her armor consisted of heavy plated armor across the chest and legs with no helmet. She held a broadsword in her right hand made if pure light, the parts of humanity that needed to be preserved and protected. She didn't know if this was what she wanted, but she knew that this was what she had to do. She posed with restless pride and fearlessness, ready to take on any threat that may come her way for the sake of the weak.

Across from them were beings who's physical appearance could not be comprehended using words. These being were the almighty gods that attempted to put up a resistance to the two seemingly insuperable figures in their presence. With their domains of heaven and hell destroyed, all they could do now was try to stop the upcoming threat, though they doubted that they could survive.

Suddenly, both of the figures raised their respective weapons, emitting a powerful energy that shook the universe. Combining the forces of pure light and dark, the good and bad of humanity, they created perfect balance in their attack. This was their final sendoff to the gods that corrupted their world with their manipulation for far too long.

"Balance Style: True World Reformation," were the final words spoken by the two godly beings before slicing their respective weapons down. As the perfectly balanced energized slice of energy shot toward the gods, somehow showing visible fear of the attack that could possibly destroy them, it was interrupted by a loud crunch noise that woke Kagumi Tsukiko up from dream. The noise was sudden enough to make him jump up from his makeshift bed, picking up a simple knife to defend himself with.

He heard the noise of branches breaking from a nearby bush. Readying the makeshift knife, he threw it at the bush, creating a satisfying whistling noise throughout the air. After he heard the sound of something sharp hitting flesh, he checked the bush only to find a lowly rabbit, clearly dead. To this he simply sighed and picked the bunny up to use for food later. 'Better to not waste this,' he thought, a headache starting to brew.

"Why did I have to wake up..." was the only thing that he could mutter before falling back to sleep in his subpar tent that he was using for the night, albeit slightly annoyed at the unnecessary disturbance. He wasn't having a very good night.
