Chapter 5 : Preparation For School

Part 1

One year latter

Gabalas mountain was located on the north-west from agatha city, about a week way on the horse back.

It was a pretty huge mountain with about 600 km wide and 9000 m tall.

With the lowest level monsters that lived in this place was C, everyone recognized it as one of the most dangerous place in Sylfania Kingdom,

But because there were hundreds of dungeons located in this mountain, it became a very popular place for hunting and raids among the adventurers.

There was only one big city in this whole mountain.

It was called Morban locate on the foot of the mountain.

The only place where the adventurers could rest without worrying being attacked by monsters, and the place where they could sell their loots after hunting or finishing their raid on the dungeons

The city itself was quite big around 20 km wide and was surrounded by high walls.

About 2.000.000 people lived in this city and more than a 500.000 adventurers from all over the continents gathered in this place.

But in these past few months there was a strange rumor was spreading among the veteran adventurers in Marban city.

A beautiful little girl with long blond hair, wearing black training suit, was rampaging and killing every monsters inside the high level dungeons.

Many people thought it was just a joke and didn’t believe that rumor.

A high level dungeon was filled with monsters level A to AAA.

There was no way a little girl could even defeat one of those monster.

But some of them believed in that rumor.

Why?

It was because they really met and saw that girl slaughtering monsters in those dungeons.

Part 2

It had been 17 months since my training in Gabalas Mountain.

Day and night of hellish training and battles with monsters.

But still there were a lot of things that i had learned from Helena.

She taught me how to survive in the wilderness.

How to track, to make traps to hunt, to extract materials from monsters dead bodies. Even how to cook.

How to fight while riding on the horse back.

And she also taught me many styles of other martial arts.

But all of that was still an easy thing compared to when she told me to clear dungeons by myself.

Moreover for each dungeon she would restrict me, whether it was magic, weapons, or other various other restrictions.

The worst of it was when she told me to clear a high level dungeon with only using my fist.

But i had to admit it was quite fun fighting with various types of monsters.

And sometimes i found a raid party of adventurers in those dungeons.

They sometimes called for me but i usually ignored them and continued to clear the dungeon.

A few times i saved a party of adventurers that were in danger of being slaughter by monsters.

And today was the last day of my training in this mountain.

Yeah after i kill this damn snake and clear this dungeon.

“Ssssshhhhaaaaa.”

Suddenly a giant snake head moved and with its mouth opened wide attacked me trying to eat me.

I jumped to the side at the last moment and countered with a slash,

i wanted to decapitate it, but the snake skin was too hard and my sword was bounced back.

Cih! As expected of a boss monster.

it won’t go dowb that easy.

What i was fighting right now was called “Three Headed Giant Earth Snake”, a boss monster that guarded the deepest part of one of the High level dungeons in this mountain.

Just like the name implied, it was a giant snake about 150 m long and had three heads.

It was a level S monster.

The other two heads also moved to attacked me but i easily evaded them by jumping backwards.

That damn old hag!

She really gave me a nasty restriction!

Thanks to my “Wiseman” Gift, i immediately knew this monster characteristic and its weakness just by observing it for awhile.

It was weak to ice magic.

But that damn old hag restricted me to only use this iron sword to defeat it.

As for magic I could only use healing and cure

And lastly was no light.

Yeah I was fighting this thing in the darkness.

But that didn’t really hinder me whatsoever.

After a few times clearing dungeons in the darkness, I got a skill called “Mind Eyes”.

This skill allowed me to see without using my eyes and also no matter how fast my enemies were, I still could see them clearly.

A very useful skill, but I had to taste hell to learn it.

But the problem right now was.

How the hell can i defeat this thing with only an iron sword as a weapon!

This damn thing had a very tough skin you know.

I would just damage or worse broke the sword if I attacked recklessly.

All the snake heads kept attacking me and i just evaded them by jumping all over the place while thinking of a way to defeat it.

Damn it!

If only this damn snake have eyes. I can attack there…. But this damn snake had lived its entire life in the darkness of the underground, so it didn’t have any use for eyes, in exchange it developed its tongue to the maximum sensitivity to detect its prey.

What should i do?

……… to fight an opponent that didn’t have any weakness.

Think think think come on think of something…..

I don’t have much time left before sunset.

If I don’t finish this quick i will fail the test.

Right now I was under taking the last trial to become a Seven Stars Sword Emperor by clearing this dungeon in half a day.

To reach sword emperor rank of our family sword style, someone must have mastered at least three out of seven secret sword techniques of our family sword style and completed 3 trials given to him.

i was actually already mastered all of the secret sword techniques.

And if i succeeded in finishing this last trial and became sword emperor.

The only thing that was left for me to reach god rank was just to defeat Helena and took her title as a sword god.

But I didn’t think it would be that easy to do that or rather impossible for the current me.

That old hag was a real monster after all.

I wouldn’t be surprised if she could kill this damn snake with just one slash.

The three headed snake started shooting rapid fire of rock cannon at me.

The size of those rock cannon was too big and hard to be cut with a mere iron sword, so I evaded it by running on the wall of the dungeon.

I guess I don’t have other choice but to do that.

Damn it!

I really hate this!

When the snake stopped firing, I immediately leaped straight to one of its head.

The snake’s head sensed that and opened its mouth and swallowed me.

As I was inside its stomach, I started swinging my sword, slashing the soft flesh of its stomachs.

The snake was writhing in pain.

As I kept slashing, a green liquid started to appear from all over the snake’s stomach and some of them fell on the back of my hand.

I started to feel pain.

I took a glance at it and saw my glove and skin were starting to melt away.

Ugh Digestive Acid!

It even melted my Caela silkworm glove!

I quickly used healing magic to heal my hand.

I also used cure magic for just in case if there was a poison mixed in it.

I will die first if things keep going on like this!

Let’s finis this quick then!

I started to gather and compressed my fight thing into the sword.

“Seven Stars secret sword technique, the first star “Silent Star”.”

Aiming at the upper part of the snake body, I gently swung my sword twice in a row and from the trajectory of the slashes, two huge white sword energy making an X shaped appeared and struck the snake stomach.

BOOM!

A large explosion followed by shockwave and huge tremor occurred

A rain of red blood mixed with flesh from the snake innards fell onto me.

This sticky feeling….. and this smell……

Yuck! That’s why I hate doing this!

Suddenly I couldn’t felt the weight of my sword.

When I look at my right hand that held the sword, I saw nothing in there.

It had turned into dust.

I guess the burden of using “Silent Star” is too much for an iron sword.

Though I already reduce the output to minimum, two slashes is the limit.

Oh well, let’s get out of here.

I jumped out of the snake stomach trough a large hole I made with “Silent Star”

But before I left the dungeon, I took all the treasures at the back of the boss room and stored it all inside the spatial ring.

Of course I also stored the boss monsters dead body along with them.

Or rather I stored every monster I had killed into the spatial ring.

Helena told me that It was to wasteful just to leave them like that and being eaten by the other monsters.

And I thought so too as well.

I could extract them for meats and other materials.

And I could use the materials for crafting or sold it in the market for a good amount of money.

Though I said all of that but I didn’t really had the time to extract all of them.

I had training to do.

Moreover their numbers were too many to do it by myself.

That was why every time I teleported back to the castle, Jessica told me to go back once a week, I would bring back a mountain of fresh monsters dead bodies and  asked the any servants who didn’t have anything to do to help me, in return they could take any meat as much as they wanted to.

I also had added another enchantment into the spatial ring, “Time Stop” which would stop the time inside the spatial ring so I didn’t have to worry they would rot away, even if I stored them for years they still would be fresh.

I teleported myself to the dungeon entrance and walked out of the dungeon.

It was still quite bright, so I guess I passed the test.

I scanned my surrounding looking for Helena.

But I couldn’t find her anywhere.

I sat on top of the nearby rock as I waited for her.

It seemed I didn’t have to wait for too long.

In less than a minute I could feel her presence from inside the forest, walking leisurely toward the dungeon.

There was a smirk on her face as she looked at me who had my whole body covered with blood and flesh from the boss monster.

“How it feels inside the snake stomach?”

This damn old hag!

She knew that the only way for me to defeat that damn snake was to enter its stomach.

My expression turned into a displeased one.

“I hate it.”

“Ha ha ha ha ha don’t blame me. You are too strong so it won’t be a fair trial if you can easily massacre all the monsters inside it.”

Nonsense!

I know that you just want to mess with me.

“Well, congratulation now you are one of the four Seven Stars Sword Emperors in this whole world.”

I had heard from Helena before the trials that there were three Sword Emperors of our family sword style.

All of them were Helena’s disciples.

The first one was one of the great general of our kingdom.

The second one was the head instructor of our family knight.

And the third one was Talia, she was Helena’s daughter or my grandfather little sister.

I had never seen the first one, but I knew the head instructor and Talia.

The head instructor name was Grant, I sometimes spared with him and the other knights at the training ground.

As for Talia, she had come to visit us a few times.

“Clean yourself up at the river after that we will go back to the castle with your teleport.”

I jumped from the rock and then walked away while grumbling to myself.

Part 3

“Ah welcome back princess.”

As I entered my room Cecil greeted me.

Too tired to reply, so I just nodded and walked straight to my bed.

As I was about to plunge myself on top of it, Cecil suddenly yelled.

“PRINCESS WAIT!!!”

I stopped and turned to look at Cecil with questioning look.

“Haaa… that was close…. “

What?

I don’t understand what you want.

is there something wrong with me wanting to relax on the bed?

“Please take off all those heavy weight clothes of yours, or you will break the bed.”

Ah!

Now that you mention it, I forgot that I am still wearing super heavy training clothes from Helena.

My total weight right now was more than 500 kg, if I had plunged myself onto the bed, I probably would broke it

“Sorry I forgot about it, thanks for reminding me about that.”

“To forget about those weights ….. You really have become a monster just like madam Helena.”

Cecil said that with amazed look on her face as I took off my training clothes.

Don’t compare me with that old hag.

She is the real monster.

Do you want know how heavy her training clothes?

Its more than 1 ton!

Twice my training clothes weight!

And she still can move faster than me!

After taking it off, I stored my training clothes inside the spatial ring.

Richard, Jessica, Helena and Cecil already knew that I had this spatial ring, so it was okay to use it in front of them.

How could I hide the ring existence after I brought back a mountain of monsters fresh dead bodies to the castle.

They were really surprised when I explained what kind of ring it was.

They said that this spatial ring was a super rare relic class accessory and asked me where did I get it from.

I couldn’t just tell them about William old job so I told them that I got it from one of the dungeon.

Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author.

“Princess, did you bring another mountain of dead monsters again?”

I laid myself on top of the bed and lazily replied her.

“Hmm yeah… a bit much than usual, mostly giant monsters and one of them is 150 m long snake.”

Cecil groaned with her right hand on her head.

‘Argh….. Princess, did you know how busy we were the last time you brought that damn 50 m tall giant mole was? It took us three whole days to skinned and extract everything. And now you bring back more giant monsters……. moreover one of them is a 150 long giant snake…Ugh I don’t care anymore, I won’t help this time…”

Don’t blame me.

It was Helena who chose a dungeon filled with giant type monsters.

But still this time it maybe too much just for the servants to handle all of it.

Hmm …. Maybe…. I should hired people…. Or…Zzzz

An hour latter Cecil woke me up and told me that it was about the time for dinner.

I changed my clothes and headed to the dining hall.

It seemed I was the last one to arrive.

All my family members had already sat on their seat.

I sat on my seat and we started eating our dinner.

As we ate, Richard and Jessica asked me about the trials for my rank up test to sword emperor.

I told them what kind of trials it were and how did I finished them.

Leon who sat next to me seemed to be very excited and his eyes were sparkling as he heard my story.

Leon also had started his sword training for half a year now, under the direction of the head instructor Grant.

I prayed for my cute little brother that Helena wouldn’t take over Grant position as his instructor.

After all I had completed my training and Helena would have a lot of free time.

“Oh yeah sweetie have you decided on what school will you take?”

Jessica asked me as I was drinking.

This had been explained by Jessica a few months ago.

I would be eight this year.

And according to this world education system, at that age I would be able to start attending a school.

I was actually looking forward to it.

After all in my previous life I couldn’t attend a school because of my illness.

The name of the school that I would attend to was Tyris Academy.

It was an Academy City that was owned by our family, located near the capital city of Daia, about 120 km to the south-west from there.

It was the most famous and prestigious among the other academies in Sylfania Kingdom, with more than 750.000 students from all over the continents and more than 40.000 teachers who teach in various fields.

Tyris Academy were divided into 4 schools

 had 4 faculties

1. Martial Arts School

1. Magic Arts School

1. Production School

1. Craft School

1. General School

Every school had their own classes, for example in martial arts school there were, Knight Class, Hunter Class, Monk Class, Blade Master Class, Iron Fist Class, etc.

In Magic Arts School there were, Enchanter Class, Fire Magic Class, Water Magic Class, Earth Magic Class, Wind Magic Class, Gravity Magic Class, Summon Magic Class, etc.

In Production School there were, Farmer Class, Husbandry Class, Rancher Class, Gardener Class, etc.

In Craft School there were, Blacksmith Class, Handcraft Class, Alchemy Class, Chef Class, Artificer Class, Sculptor Class, Painter Class, etc.

In General School there were, Merchant class, Astronomer Class, Doctor class, Cartographer Class, Architect Class, etc.

To graduate a student must attend for 9 years and passed the last exams

And In those nine years at least student must take two different classes

Richard and Jessica told me to decide what school and classes I wanted to attend by myself.

They wouldn’t against whatever decision I made.

I had thought about this for awhile now.

For me, Martial Arts and Magic Arts school wouldn’t teach me much.

Helena had already taught me everything about Martial Arts, which she had known and learned to me.

As for Magic Arts, …. Well I didn’t think I need to learn anymore about it.

And now there were three school left, Production, Craft and General School.

I didn’t have any interest in any class of the Production School.

So I would choose between Craft and General.

And I had decided to take Artificer and Blacksmith class in Craft school.

Actually after seeing William’s workshop, I had started to have quite an interest in artificer and other crafting.

Moreover now I had a goal that I wanted to achieve.

After a week of a painfully long boring journey from Agatha City to Galabas Mountain

Though I had Aldebaran, I still had to use a normal horse because Helena was also with me.

Once again I was ascertained that I really hate a boring long distant travelling.

Doing nothing but just sitting on the horse back…..

I really hate that!

That was why I decided, I swore that I would change this world damn slow and traditional transportation system into that of an advance and faster one, just like my previous world.

“I will attend Craft School.”

Jessica and Richard slightly nodded and we continue to ate our dinner.

After the dinner I remembered the thing about the monsters dead bodies.

So I told Richard and Jessica about it.

“Is it really that many?”

Richard asked me as he frowned.

I nodded and then said.

“In total there are 354 giant monsters from that last dungeon.”

That dungeon where the boss snake wasn’t the most difficult one in Galabas Mountain, but it was the biggest size one.

It had 6 floors with every single floor was filled with at least 50-60 giant monsters in it.

The smallest monster was Earth Giant, with height about 35 meters.

Before Richard could reply, Helena joined into the conversation.

“Just let the knights to help.”

Is that really okay?

I turned to look at Richard.

“Well…. the meat also will end up as their provision, so why not?”

There were about 5.000 knights stationed to protect the castle.

If half of them help, then it probably wouldn’t take that long to finish extracting all of them.

I nodded my head in agreement.

Part 4

The next day.

I took out all the monsters stored in my spatial ring.

There would be a lot of knights who would help, so not only the giant one but I also took out the other small and mid size monsters as well.

Because there wasn’t a large enough place to put all them in one place, I put them in three separated place around the castle.

All of that place were at the back of the castle so it wouldn’t get in anyone way.

After that I told the head butler to do the usual thing to the materials that were extracted from the monsters.

The first was to let the one who helped to take any meat they wanted to, and then stored all the remaining meat in the city warehouse to be preserved as the city food supplies.

There was no other space in the castle food storage. It had been filled long ago with the first two mountains of dead monsters bodies which I had previously brought before.

The second one was to sell all low and mid quality materials.

And lastly was to store all the high quality materials in the castle storage.

I had gotten quite a large sum of money by selling those low and mid quality materials from all the previous monsters.

In total I gained 4.553 G.

My total wealth stored in the spatial ring right now was 14 RG 480 P 4.779 G 54 S and 83 C.

Plus another 8 RG in my pouch which I got from Helena after this morning training, it was the usual tradition for passing the rank up test to sword emperor.

After talking to the head butler, I and Cecil went to the business district.

Next week I would started my long journey of more than 6 months to reach Tyris Academy.

We would use a ship to reach at the capital and from there, we would continue to travel with a horse drawn carriage directly to Tyris Academy.

So I need to prepare and bought few necessary things for the journey.

Our first destination in the business district was Grisela Tailor shop.

I need to buy some traveling new clothes

The one that I had right now was already too small.

Using teleport magic, we arrived at the deserted alley near the shop and then we headed straight into the shop.

As we entered the shop a girl greeted us.

It seemed she was one of Grisela apprentices.

When I asked her where Grisela was, the girl told me that Grisela was busy making a new dress on the second floor.

I didn’t really have important business with her, so I just nodded and asked her to show us where the traveling clothes section was.

The girl guided us passing through a few other sections before we arrived there.

After about 15 minutes browsing through the clothes, I took 2 cloaks, 2 pairs of boots, 2 mantels, and 4 set of clothes.

We left the shop after paying 42 G for all of them.

Our next destination was the pharmacy store to buy supplies of medicines and potions.

From what Cecil said It would take us about an hour of walk to arrive there.

“Want to call a carriage?”

Cecil pointed at a carriage stations not to far from where we were standing.

In this city and other big city, because it would take too long to walk if you wanted to reach other districts, there were people who rented their carriages as a way for transportation.

Well, to put it simply, it was kind of like a taxi of this world.

You told to the horseman where you wanted to go and then you could negotiate the price, after both had agreed to the price, you would be taken to your destination.

I thought about it for a while and then shook my head.

“We have a lot of time, and maybe we will find some interesting shops while on the way there.”

Well what I hate was a long boring journey.

So I wouldn’t mind if it was long as long as there was something to do.

Just like this one.

I could window shopping as we go the pharmacy store.

Cecil agreed with me and so walked to the pharmacy store.

We actually could just buy medicines in the nearby general store, but some medicines could only be bought in the pharmacy store, especially the high quality one.

And just like what I had said before, I saw an interesting shop 15 minutes latter.

It was a magic tool shop.

Hmm… I never visit a magic tool shop before.

I wonder what kind of tools they have.

Maybe there is something useful for our traveling in there.

“Cecil let’s visit that shop.”

Cecil followed the direction of my gaze and then nodded.

As we entered the shop, I saw various strange looking tools in all size were displayed on the shelves.

I walked to the counter where a young man was standing behind it.

“Welcome. What can I do for you little miss.”

“I am looking for useful tools for traveling.”

The man nodded and then walked to a few shelves, taking some tools from there and then put them on the counter.

There were six in total.

The young man started explaining what they were for and how to use it

The first one was a 30x30 cm portable stove that used fire spirit stone as the source of heat to cook, it could be used for 6 hours straight and its heat coukld be adjusted as you wanted it to, it also had auto-recharge function so if not being used it would automatically absorb natural spirit, it would take at least 2 hours to recharge it to full. It price was 50 G.

The second one was a torch that would light up for 12 hours straight and also had the same auto-recharge. It price was 75 G.

The third one was a canteen that would purified the water inside it and also able to keep the water temperature to normal. It price was 40 G.

The fourth one was a whistle that could make low level monsters, about level E and F in 2 Km radius ran away when you used it. It price was 60 G.

The fifth one was a water proof sleeping bag which could keep you warm on winter and cool at summer. It price was 150 G.

The last one was a magic backpack which could reduce the weight and shrink anything stored inside it by 1/100 of its original, It price was 1000 G.

Cecil had a strange expression when she heard the price of all those tools.

Yeah, I knew what she was thinking.

Even though they were pretty much useless for me but they were very useful for normal traveler, the only oproblem was their prices were too damn expensive.

I thought for awhile and decided to buy two waterproof sleeping bag, for me and Cecil, and also one magic backpack.

I forgot to mention this before, but as my personal attendant, Cecil would also be attending the same school and class as me.

After paying 1.300 G, we left the shop and continued heading to the pharmacy store.

We visited a few other shops while on the way, but we didn’t find anything interesting or useful for our travel.

Roughly after walking for an hour and half, we finally arrived at the pharmacy store.

We bought bunch of various high quality medicines, potions, herbs, bandages, etc.

And at the end we spent 250 G for all of them.

The last destination for today shopping was William Bookstore.

I wanted to buy a lot of books that could last for 6 months to read.

After all, I would have a lot of free time while traveling latter on, pretty much for the whole 6 months in the ship.

So I teleported us to another deserted alley near William Bookstore.
