Chapter 1: New Life

Part 1

My name is Alan a librarian, a 25 years old young man who is about to die.

Will you listen to my story for a while? Thank you.

I was the second son of a wealthy and influential merchant in the kingdom, I had only one sibling, an older brother who was 2 years above me. I didn’t really remember my life as a baby, but I still remember clearly when I was three years old.

The day after my birthday, I had a high fever, a really high one, my parents were panicked and called a family doctor to come and checked on me.

After checking my pulse and heartbeat, the doctor shook his head with a sour look in his face. he then explained that I had an incurable illness, no man, medicine nor magic could cure my illness, he then dropped the bomb by saying that I wouldn’t be able to survive after my 13th birthday.

My parents who heard that didn’t want to give up tried many things to cure my illness, spending countless amount of money to call many famous doctors, healears, and buy various expensive medicines.

Thanks to their efforts, my life had been extended for another 12 years.

And after my 10th birthday, I decided to leave my house and go to the the capital.

I heard there was a great library in the capital where various books from all over the world gathered, and maybe in there I could find a way or at least a clue to cure my illness.

My parents didn’t against me going there after I explained my reason, they just nodded their head and blessed me.

With my parents connection and influence, I became a librarian in name so that I could live in the library and had any access to any sections of the library.

I spent all day long, reading various books in search for a way to cure my illness while pretending to do my work as a librarian, though sometimes, I really did my work as a librarian.

One day after, when I was looking for books about ancient dragon magic in the forbidden section, I found a book talking about a secret magic of reincarnation.

When I read the title, a flash of inspiration passed through my mind.

If my illness can’t be cured, then how about reincarnating myself? Throwing away this body and moved to a new one.

After that I began my research like a mad man, I must learn this magic before my time was up.

And finally, in my last few remaining days, I completed that magic.

Right now, I am lying down on my bed in the librarian quarter, waiting for my death.

I don’t know if this reincarnation magic will really work because I don’t have time to test it, and even if I have, I still don’t have a way to prove it, but in theory it should work perfectly fine.

Part 2

When I opened my eyes, right in front of me was a big scary face of an old lady. it really scared me to death and involuntarily I started to scream while trying to get away from her.

(“Ha ha ha what a healthy baby we have here”)

The old lady started to laugh and it made me more scared, I screamed louder as I swung my hand trying to punch her face, but for some reason I couldn’t move my hand as I wanted to.

(“Madam, I think you are scaring the baby”)

A woman in a maid outfit suddenly appeared next to the old lady and started talking to her in a strange language that I had never heard before.

(“How rude, I am not scary at all. I just want to look at him closely.”)

(“That’s why I said you’re scaring him.”)

The old lady pouted and then the maid took me away from her.

I stopped screaming and tried to calm myself.

I looked at my surrounding. I was in a room with luxurious furniture and a large bed in the middle of the room.

Beside the old lady and the maid, there were two more people in this room. a beautiful girl with blond long hair lying on the bed, and another maid next to the bed who was tending the beautiful girl.

Suddenly a sound of someone abruptly opening the door echoed inside the room while followed by running steps.

(“How is it!?”)

A handsome arrogant looking young man with black short hair ran toward the beautiful girl as he talked to her in a panicked manner, the girl just pointed her finger at me without answering him.

The young man turned his head to where the girl pointed at, he then looked at me with glittering eyes and wide smile on his face.

(“Uooo My child has born!!!!”)

The man started yelling like a mad man as he ran toward me.

Part 3

Now I understand what had happened to me.

The reincarnation magic seemed to have work perfectly and now I was reincarnated as a baby.

But where I am reincarnated to?

They are talking in a language that I hadn’t heard before.

Oh well, I will find out about it sooner or later.

The girl who was lying on the bed must be my mother and the young man who kept yelling like an idiot must be my father.

In my eyes they are quite young to be called parents, if my estimation is right they are around sixteen to seventeen years old.

The scary old lady from before must be a relative or one of their parents, which meant the scary old lady was my grandmother.

No wait, she is too old to become my grandmother, I mean just look at my new parents, they are very young or should I say still teenagers.

She must be my great grandmother then.

Well, it doesn’t matter.

The young man stopped yelling and took me away from the maid.

He then walked toward the girl and sat on the bed near the young girl.

(“Ariel huh, Okay then, from today on your name is Ariel Whitestar.”)

Part 4

a month passed by

In this one month there ere three things that I understand.

The first is that my parents are very wealthy.

Well, my previous parents were also a rich merchant so it didn’t really change that much.

And right now I lived in a very big mansion or rather a castle.

I was really amazed when I saw the castle for the first time,

My mother and the maids were often brought me to play in the garden, and that was when I saw the castle from the outside.

I wonder if my family is a noble or royalty because there are a lot of knights wandering around in the castle.

Part 5

A year passed by

By this time I had learned most of the commonly used vocabulary and now I could understand what the people around me were talking about.

From what I had heard, my family was one of the high class noble of Sylfania Kingdom.

Sylfania Kingdom was the kingdom where I lived right now. I didn’t know where this kingdom was located, If my memory served me right, there was no kingdom with that kind of name in the world map.

I should check this later.

My father ruled a small region on the west side of the kingdom.

And we lived in the biggest city in my father’s territory. it was called Agatha City, the biggest commerce city in the whole kingdom.

My father name was Richard Whitestar, the head of Whitestar family,

The previous head which was my grandfather, passed away a year before I was born because of illness and my father who was at that time still 15 years old took over the family head.

The scary old lady from before, just as I thought, she really was my great grandmother from my father side, her name was Helena Whitestar.

And my mother name was Jessica Whitestar, she was the daughter of Redsun family, which was also a high class noble, she married my father two years ago.

I also had learned how to walk, though I really wanted to explore the castle, I still didn’t have enough stamina to walk for too long.

Right now I was learning how to read.

The maid who was babysitting me, sometimes brought a picture book and read it for me.

I was getting bored of her reading the same books which she had read before.

If I knew where the library was, I would go there by myself even if I must crawl.

Oh and the last thing, I am gonna have a sibling.

Part 6

Two passed by

I am now two years old.

All my baby clothes now had changed into frilly clothes.

Haaa… I never thought that the day where I would wear a girl clothes will come.

Oh well, I should get used to it, I am no longer a man after all.

My mother had given birth to a baby boy and his name was Leon.

He was so small.

I wonder if it was because I had never seen a baby before, but he looked really cute, I really wanted to pinch his red cheek.

I now had enough stamina to wander around the castle, with the maid following around behind me, I think I should thank her for that. This castle was pretty big and I could guarantee that anyone who came for the first time would get lost without anyone guiding.

This castle was divided into three building, main building, left wing and right wing, with six floors up and two floors underground.

The Main building was where the ball room, audience room, library, dinning room, main kitchen and many other rooms that I didn’t know what were they for, but my parents room were on the top floor of the main building.

My great grandmother room was on the top floor of the left wing, mine and my little brother were on the opposite wing.

On the ground outside the castle there were a large four story building for knight quarters with a wide training ground next to it, four stables with hundreds of horses inside it, a flower garden with many types of flowers and a pond filled with fishes, there were also a forest and a lake on the back of the castle.

It took me a week to finish exploring the whole castle.

And right now I was wondering what should I do now?

Hmm… I am mentally older than a kid of my age, so I won’t play like them, and I am a baby so I doubt that my parents will allow me to go to the city.

It’s really boring.

I just realized that I didn’t have any plan or goal after reincarnating myself.

In my past life, I was only thinking about how to cure my illness or reincarnating myself, I never thought of a plan or goal or what I am going to do after reincarnating.

Oh well, It’s not too late to think about it from now, but first I need to know where I was reincarnated to.

So I decided to look for information in the library.

“The maid taught me how to read.”

The maid who was behind me gave a slight bow to Ronald.

“Okay then, just ask the maid or me, if there is something that you don’t understand.”

I started browsing the title of the books as I walked around the library.

This library was quite big, when I asked Richard how many books were in here, he answered at least there were around 5000 books or so from various subjects.

After a few minutes, I found what I was looking for, History of Sylfania Kingdom.

I asked the maid to take it for me because it was too high.

What I found after reading for a few pages really surprised me.

It seemed that I was reincarnated in the different world.

I then asked the maid to look and bring all books that were related to history of this world.

The maid came back 5 minutes later and gave me a few books.

From the ancient civilization that was found, this world estimated to be created around 100 million years ago and was divided into two parts, inner and outer world.

Inner world was a name of an area where many races could live safely, because the monsters who lived in this place were much more weaker than the one that lived in the outer world.

There were three continents which were an inner world.

Human Continent.

Nature Continent.

Beast Continent.

As for the outer world, no one really know how many continent there were in the outer world because no one dared to explore too far away from the inner world. The farthest you went from the inner world the stronger the monsters would be.

And the two continents that had been found in the outer world were.

Demon Continent.

Magic Continent.

When I saw the map of the inner world, I was really shocked that I almost dropped the book in my hand.

It was pretty damn big, only the inner world and it had already half the size of my previous world.

I found Sylfania Kingdom, it was a small kingdom in the southern part of Human Continent.

In total, there were 3 empires and 16 kingdoms in Human Continent.

I looked for its capital Daia city and the city where I lived now Agatha city.

Capital city of Daia was located in the middle and Agatha city was on the southern most part of the kingdom next to the sea.

I then asked the maid how long it would take to travel from Agatha city to capital city of Daia.

She said it would take at least eight months by normal horse carriage and six months by boat.

Except for its size, this world wasn’t really that different from my previous world, they had many races lived in this world, there were elf, dwarf, beastman, human, demon, and many other that I had never heard.

I wonder if my skills and magics could still be used in this world, I had seen the maid used a water magic before so I hoped my magic would work too.

I then tried to use “bookworm” and it worked, so read the remaining books as fast as I could and in less than 20 minutes I finished them all.

I wanted to test my magic by returning the books to its original place but in the end I decided not to, because the maid was sitting next to me and I didn’t want her to make a commotion when she saw using magic.

If I couldn’t test it then how about the theory.

I then asked the maid to return the books and looked for magic books, I wanted to know if magic in this world worked the same as my previous world.

After a few minutes she returned while holding nine books, she give them to me and I then started reading.

One hour later I closed the last book.

As I thought it was the same as my previous world.

Magic in this world had the same system as my previous world.

They were divided into four inner systems, fire, water, wind, and earth.

Three outer systems, gravity, lightning, and summon.

Two special systems light and darkness

One unique system which was all magic that weren’t included in the other systems, such as, nature magic, dragon magic and demon magic.

The only different was that in my previous world there was no such thing as rank, but in this world magic were divided into rank, beginner, intermediate, advance, saint, king, emperor, and the last was god rank magic.

I spent all day reading books in the library.

Part 7

Three years passed by

I am now three years old.

It seemed every night, Richard and Jessica worked very hard and another sibling had been made.

My day of spending all my time on reading books in the library came to an end.

Well, the reason wasn’t only just because I had read all of them, but also because my parents started to call many home tutors.

They said that I had to become a capable lady so that I could marry into a good family.

But in only two weeks only two tutors were left, manner and music tutors.

Because all the other tutors had nothing left to teach me.

Reading, writing, math, history, science, magic.

What can I say? I have already learned all of them in my previous life or from books in the library.

When they left the castle, they said the same thing to my parents.“Your daughter is a genius.”

Right after the tutors had left the castle, my parents called me to the living room.

When I entered the room, I saw my parents and great grandmother had already been there, sitting on the sofa as they waited for me.

As I walked towards them, I heard Richard was talking to Jessica.

“Yeah, the magic tutor even cried, he said his pride was shattered to pieces because his magic which he had trained for years was surpassed by a three years old girl in only two weeks … Did you know, she can use advance level magic even without chanting a single word at all.”

He said that he had heard about some people who could use magic without chanting before, but this was his first time seeing it directly.

Instant casting was a secret skill of ancient dragon of my previous world. With this skill I could use any magic without chanting, I accidentally learned this skill when I was researching reincarnation magic.

I then sat on the sofa which was on the opposite direction from my parents.

“Sweetie, can you really use advance magic without chanting?”

“Yes I can, but what about it?”

“No, mommy just wondering how much is your soul space.”

Soul space was the same thing as mana pool in my previous world.

Soul space (mana pool) was a container of spirit (mana), every time you used magic your spirit would be consumed equal to the power of magic you used.

Your soul space would expand by itself as you grew older, you also could train your soul space by meditating or used a very rare medicine called Balsem.

She must be thinking that because I was only three years old, it should be normally an impossible thing for me to use an advance level magic that consumed a large amount spirit.

Actually, in my previous life, in order to use a secret magic of an ancient dragon or reincarnation magic, I needed to have a very large soul space that was greater or at least an equal to the king of ancient dragon.

And that was why I forcefully expanded my soul space using a forbidden magic “Time Ark”, with this magic I made my soul grow one million years older than my body.

It was insanely painful and the risk if I failed was the destruction of my soul itself, which meant worse than death itself, but in return if I succeed my soul space would expand ten times larger than the king of ancient dragon.

Arrgghhh…. I don’t want to experience that pain again. No wonder it was called forbidden magic.

“I will take a soul meter.”

After saying that, Richard left the room.

Soul meter was a rare magic tool that was used to gauge someone’s soul space capacity. Because It was a very expensive item only nobles or rich merchants who usually had it.

Well, in my previous world there was also a device like that.

After a few minutes, Richard came back while holding blue crystal on his hand.

I then broke the silence and they came back to their senses.

“No, It’s okay sweetie, you didn’t break it… It’s just that your soul space is too large that even a soul meter couldn’t handle it and broke by itself.”

Even in my previous world, it was already very hard to gauge an ancient dragon soul space, and now mine was ten times bigger than the king of ancient dragon.

“Good, from now on, when we are training call me master understood?”
