Chapter 22 : A Mysterious Encounter: The Great Void and the Jade Gift

[In an unknown space]

When I woke up, I found myself surrounded by empty space—completely void of anything. I couldn't understand what had happened, but the last thing I remembered was someone attempting to access my information using unknown means, as if they were searching my soul. It was excruciatingly painful, unlike anything I had experienced before.

"Alice, can you hear me?"

As I suspected, I couldn't communicate with Alice. This space felt incredibly empty, and if I remained here for more than a minute, I feared I would lose myself. I tried to calm down, and that's when I noticed my body. Ironically, I couldn't move it as if I had lost all control. Then I heard a voice. In this empty space, it was a miraculous occurrence to hear any voice at all, even if it wasn't my own.

I traced the voice to its source and found myself at a loss for words. It seemed impossible for someone to survive in this space.

"Who are you? If you take more than a second to answer, I'll kill you," she threatened.

Yes, there was a girl in this empty space, and I couldn't help but think that I was imagining things or experiencing hallucinations. It was because of her presence. Hypothetically, I could accept the existence of the girl being real, but she was so stunningly beautiful that I couldn't take my eyes off her.

"Stop staring at me like an idiot and tell me how you got here or die," she demanded.

"Wait, wait! I'll talk. Don't be angry. I'm just stuck here. I'll tell you the whole story, but before that, can you tell me where I am?" I asked.

"This place is called the Great Void. Now, tell me how you got here before I lose my patience and kill you," she replied.

I composed myself and once again faced the girl in front of me. She had slightly blue hair, fair skin, blue eyes, and was dressed in black clothes that suited her well. Damn, what was I doing right now? I was merely admiring her while she expected an answer from me.

"Sorry about that. I don't know how I got here. When I woke up, I was already here. Before I lost consciousness, I was in my own realm," I explained.

I had no idea where I was. If I lied to her, it would likely result in my demise this time. There were two reasons I answered truthfully: first, because I had no knowledge of this place, and second, I didn't know how to escape from here.

"So, you don't know anything," she said, contemplating the situation. "It's impossible for any creature to come here, but somehow, you managed it without even trying. I'll have to investigate."

Upon hearing her response, I realized I wasn't in a good place at all. This wasn't just a place; it was a damn empty space like my infinite realm, but I couldn't confirm that without Alice.

"Tell me where your realm is, and I'll help you," she suggested. "Once I find out the truth about you, I'll get all my answers."

Observing her, the first thing I understood was that this girl was naive. She acted as if no one could hear her thoughts, but I could read her like an open book. She seemed to be putting great effort into her thought process, and I didn't know what to say.

But how could I tell her if I didn't know where my realm was? I didn't even know myself. Damn, what a joke. Right now, I felt like a child who had forgotten their home address and had no means of contacting their parents.

I always felt a connection to my realm, and I would transport myself there directly. I never thought about the coordinates of the place because I didn't think it would ever be necessary.

She looked at me as if she had guessed what I was thinking, confirming her suspicions about me. This was a big mistake on my part to end up here.

"You idiot, I've never seen someone like you who forgot their home address," she laughed.

Judging by her tone of speaking and her style, she appeared to be a normal girl from Earth. But how could a normal girl be laughing in this space? She was truly making fun of me.

If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

"You're an idiot, and stop laughing. It's creepy," I told her, now knowing I could freely converse with her.

"Say that again," she said with a cold expression.

I saw her expression, and it was worse than I had anticipated. I think she had a split personality.

"I'm sorry. I'll never say it again," I quickly apologized.

"Hahahaha, you got scared just by that," she laughed as if I had fallen into a trap.

After observing her behavior, I realized I was wrong about her. This girl may have looked innocent, but she was undeniably annoying as hell.

Then she abruptly stopped laughing, came closer to me, and grabbed my right hand, trying to find out more about me. Unfortunately, I couldn't feel my body, so I didn't feel anything she was doing.

"Who are you? Why can't I find anything about you?" she began to panic, distancing herself from me.

"Don't panic. Just listen to me. Can you please do something about my body? I can't feel anything. If you help me, I'll show you my realm," I pleaded.

I didn't want to rely on her, but she was incredibly powerful, and I couldn't move my body at the moment—truly the worst situation. However, Alice had made some modifications in my realm so that she wouldn't find anything special there.

"But you don't even know where your realm is," she remarked, amused by the situation.

"I can try. Please, just help me do something," I pleaded.

"Okay, I agree," she consented.

Since she couldn't sense anything from me, she found it intriguing. But I was in a dire situation. She touched my hands, and black energy engulfed my entire body. After five minutes, I finally regained the sensation of my whole body.

[[Master]]

"Alice, what happened?" I thought, expecting to communicate with Alice at any time, in any situation. However, it seemed related to the moment I lost consciousness.

[[Master, when your soul was being searched, I shielded myself and covered your soul so that no one could find any information about you.]]

"Good job, Alice. That's a relief," I thought, feeling grateful for her quick thinking. But suddenly, I heard a voice.

"Stop talking to yourself like an idiot. Check if you can find your realm or not," she instructed.

After hearing her, I confirmed that I could sense the connection with my realm and all of my powers.

"First, before I take you to my realm, let me introduce myself. I'm Alex, the monarch of my cosmic realm," I said, lying to her. If I revealed the name of my realm, she would go crazy upon seeing its infinity. I had prepared for this, so there would be no problems.

"Hahaha, how can a monarch forget his realm's address? That's hilarious," she laughed again.

"Sorry about that. Just call me Eva. That's all I can tell you," she said, concealing her expression.

I didn't mind her behavior because she was already annoying, and there was little I could do about it.

"Okay, come closer. I can feel my realm. I'll transfer both of us," I said.

A massive amount of cosmic energy emanated from my body, enveloping both of us, and just like that, we were transported to my infinite realm. There, I beheld my planet, but from this distance, it appeared much smaller.

"This is my realm. Currently, there is only one planet, but in the future, I'll have more," I explained to Eva.

"You call this a realm and only have one planet? Expected of you! Hahaha!" she laughed, as if she had heard the funniest joke ever.

"Can you please stop making fun of me, even just once?" I requested.

I made up my mind that I would never meet her again once she was gone. Then I noticed that she was scanning my realm, but I wasn't afraid of her. In my realm, I couldn't die, and that's why I had allowed her entry. If something went wrong, I would handle her here. As long as she didn't do anything foolish. Moreover, she had once helped me in the void, so I felt I owed her.

She scanned Alex's realm while thinking about how it was impossible for any realm to possess so much cosmic energy. No matter how she checked, everything seemed normal. She also wanted to find out how Alex was able to go to the Great Void, but her search yielded no results.

In the end, she concluded that it must have been a mistake. After thoroughly investigating everything, her suspicions vanished.

Unbeknownst to her, Alex had already prepared for this. He had asked Alice to reveal only a small portion of his realm because if anyone saw his infinite realm, they would undoubtedly go crazy. This was also the reason why Eva laughed when she heard about the realm.

"Hey, do you want to stay in my realm?" I asked her.

"Thanks, but no. I came here on a mission, and I have to go," she declined.

"Okay, I owe you one. Let me know if I can ever help you in the future," I said.

No matter who she was, she had helped me once, so I would help her once, and then we would be even.

"You don't have to do anything for me. Even if I wanted something, you wouldn't be able to provide it with your power. So, thanks," she said.

She was about to leave, but before doing so, she checked her space and took out a palm-sized jade.

"Here, it will help you when you forget your address again. Hahaha," she said, laughing, and then vanished.

I took the jade and placed it in my possession. Teleporting myself to my planet, I sat on my throne and felt a sense of comfort.

"Alice, check the jade stone and give me the details," I requested.

[[Yes, Master.]]

[Outside of Mars]

Yes, this is the solar system where Alex used to live, but after Earth was destroyed, he absorbed it, while the other planets remained. Suddenly, a space rift began to form near the planet Mars, and a massive spaceship emerged from within. In the control room:

"Sir, our ship's radar is unable to find the planet where Reginald fought the irregular," Arion reported.

"That's impossible! How can a planet disappear without a trace? Check again," commanded Eldric.

"Sir, there is evidence of a massive asteroid colliding with the Earth," Arion said.

"Earth was destroyed, and the irregular is dead. How are we going to report this to the queen?" Eldric wondered.

They began investigating what had happened there.

[In the Infinite Realm]

[Fourth wall]

Hello, guys! It's been a while since I talked to you like this, but many things have changed. I have a question about myself. When I was revealing the truth about myself to my family, I wondered what happened to my family from real reality after I transmigrated.

It's important because if I'm from the real reality and transmigrated here, and this reality exists in a novel, then what happened to my family would confirm my existence.

But there's a problem—I don't know in which timeline all of you are reading this novel. Let me give you an example. Before I transmigrated, I was from Earth in 2045. So, if anyone tries to find information about me before that time, they won't find anything. If you're reading this in 2100, there's a chance you might uncover my identity.

So, I have to go and do some work. Seriously, I liked it more when I was reading novels on my phone. But my luck has led me to do everything myself now. Hahaha, see you, guys.

[Deactivate fourth wall]

"Alice, give me the information about that jade first."

[[Yes, Master.]]

[Master, this jade is like an advanced chip or drive. It contains the map of our entire universe.]

I see. That's why she said it would help me if I ever got lost. It will be useful in the future when I travel to other galaxies. But first, let's settle everything here.

"Evelyn, find the leaders of the federation and the magic association and inform them that I want to talk," I commanded.

{{I'll inform them soon.}}
