Chapter 12 : Bloodshed in the Cosmic Domain

Chapter 12 : Bloodshed in the Cosmic Domain

Federal Calendar: 21 July 2145

Suddenly, I heard an announcement from the World Orb that was heard by every living being on this planet.

[Attention, citizens of Earth. This is the final announcement from the World Orb System. A grave and imminent threat has emerged. As a result of the presence of multiple dungeons and the malevolent actions of individuals harnessing advanced technology, our planet's core is at risk of complete destruction. This catastrophic event will result in the death of all living beings on Earth within the next 10 days.]

What the fuck is this situation? Who in their right mind would do something like this? Yeah, I guess it has to be something to do with that shitty organization, but how the hell did they get their hands on advanced technologies on our planet? Well, that has to be something to do with those motherfucker aliens.

How can humans put everything aside and help someone destroy their homeworld? I never thought that humans could be that sick and evil. I was just thinking when I saw one of the monsters that appeared from the rift coming towards me.

The monster looked exactly like a wild wolf, but its mouth had a grotesque, flowery appearance, similar to the dogs in the Resident Evil movies. It was disgustingly repulsive.

I used my "shadow spike" to pierce the monster directly, causing it to vanish into thin air. I collected its loot and stored it in my inventory.

Sam was nearby and witnessed the monster's demise. He seemed shocked, unable to believe his own eyes. Given the danger of the situation, he didn't ask any questions.

I grabbed Sam's hand and quickly found a safer location. With the help of my ability, "instant transfer," we teleported to the debris of a nearby supermarket. It was crucial to close this dungeon, not only to improve my rank but also to save as many people as possible.

Most importantly, I had to reach my family within the next 10 days. The situation was incredibly chaotic, but I knew that once I gained enough power, I would be able to take down these damn aliens.

"Sam, wait here. I'll handle this rift in the sky. Don't go anywhere if you want to live. Understand?"

He nodded, and I approached the rift, activating my most powerful combat abilities.

First, I activated "Shadow Cloak," which concealed my face and body, making me appear as a mere shadow to anyone who saw me.

Next, I utilized "Mana Conduit," allowing me to instantly absorb mana from the surrounding environment. With this ability, I could fight for an extended period without limitations, as I could continuously replenish my mana reserves.

Lastly, I invoked "Cosmic Domain," summoning my infinite space to the outside world. Within this domain, no creature could survive except for me. My cosmic energy granted me unmatched power and protection.

As I used these three abilities, my body began to transform into a shadow-like form. Mana was absorbed into my body at a crazy rate, and my cosmic domain extended to 1km, covering the entire rift in the sky.

All the monsters appearing from the rift died instantly within my cosmic domain due to the unstable cosmic space and energy. Even the large rift started to disappear. The monsters that died in my domain were directly converted into energy, which would help me level up.

"Alice, save the energy in the infinite realm. I'll let you know when I'm ready to upgrade my rank," I said.

"Yes, Master," Alice replied.

One by one, the monsters appeared in my domain and died as if nothing had happened. They had no intelligence and couldn't beg for mercy.

I realized that I was too happy for no reason. What luck to have monsters appear from the rift. I thought this was a stronger monster.

"Interesting, using the law in this barren planet amuses me," he said with a smile.

I saw a humanoid figure appearing from the rift and heard his words. I wasn't surprised by the mention of laws, as I had read about them in novels.

Sooner or later, I knew I would have to understand them. But what bothered me was this humanoid figure with two horns on his head. He was quite handsome, though not as much as me. I was lost in my thoughts when suddenly the demon spoke.

"How dare you compare my handsomeness to your filthy face? I will kill you," he said.

I was stunned. I realized that he had guessed what I was thinking, but this bastard was most likely a narcissist.

I responded to him with a cold tone, "Come here, you fucking demon, and try to kill me. Let's see what you've got."

I remembered my first rule, which was never to chit-chat with enemies. He was in my cosmic domain, but he could still talk to me, which meant he could be dangerous. I had to kill him as soon as possible.

"Alice, concentrate cosmic energy into my cosmic domain as much as possible," I commanded.

I wanted the fight scene to be as dangerous as possible, filled with gore.

[Yes, Master. I will fill this cosmic domain with unstable space cracks and cosmic energy.]

Wow, you can do that? Well, my AI is the best. For someone as lazy as me, this is the best.

As cosmic energy and space cracks appeared in my domain, the demon's face changed, and he was about to say something. I attacked him directly with my shadow spikes, and cosmic energy started to manifest crazily in the domain.

I summoned my dagger from my inventory space and used my instant transfer ability to teleport directly in front of him, aiming for his head. However, this damn demon knew how to use space abilities, which made him faster than my instant transfer.

I teleported in front of him once again, but he managed to dodge my attack. I activated my reality eyes at full power, hoping to see his weakness, but all I could see were ordinary details. Another idiot with an artifact. Are these things sold at the fish market? It's absurd.

"Alice, use my skill creation ability to add a restriction to my domain: no space-type abilities can be used, and increase its potency."

[Master, this is the updated version of Cosmic Domain.]

Wow, it took less than a second to update it. Good job, Alice.

Domain Name: Cosmic Sanctuary

Description:

Cosmic Sanctuary is a domain forged from your infinte realm, providing an impenetrable sanctuary with distorted laws of reality. Within this isolated realm, space-type abilities are nullified, granting you and your allies an advantage. The domain offers unyielding defense, environmental manipulation, and amplification of cosmic powers. However, sustaining the domain consumes 500 mana units per second.

Note: Domain capabilities may evolve as your cosmic powers grow.

After my domain was updated, the demon's face changed, and he appeared like a dying fish. I didn't know how strong he was, but this domain was too powerful for him to handle. He looked at me as if he wasn't afraid of death.

"I see, human, you are powerful indeed, but you can't kill me," he said.

I wanted to know his reason for being so confident, as he was going to die for sure.

"Why is that? Where is that confidence coming from?" I asked.

He replied, "We demons are rare creatures. We can't face true death. Hahaha!"

"Well, let me tell you something before you die. Not even God Himself can save you from dying today," I declared with unwavering certainty.

I tapped into my dark aura, unleashing my sub-ability Monarch's Embrace, enveloping his body in an aura of terror and dominance. The demon's trembling intensified as fear gripped him, rendering him paralyzed and unable to escape.

Gripping his hair tightly, I revealed my dagger, its sharp edge glinting in the dim light.

Monarch's Embrace: By tapping into your dark aura, you cast an aura of terror and dominance, causing your opponents to tremble in fear and become paralyzed with terror.

With a swift motion, I pressed the dagger against his forehead, its cold metal piercing his flesh and drawing a thin trickle of blood. Fear filled his eyes, a testament to his imminent demise.

"You thought you could compare yourself to me, but you were gravely mistaken, you motherfucker," I coldly stated.

I twisted the dagger, driving it deeper into his skull. Blood gushed from the wound, mixing with the existing gore. The demon convulsed in spasms, his cries of pain echoing through the cosmic domain.

In a final act of brutality, I ended his existence by destroying his head with a swift and decisive strike of my dagger. The demon's life force rapidly faded, and with a malevolent grin, I tore his heart from his chest, holding it as a symbol of my victory.

As the lifeless body of the demon crumpled to the ground, I deactivated my cosmic domain, this place now tainted by the blood spilled during the battle. The remnants of his existence dissipated, absorbed into my infinite realm, forever erased.

And this is where his story ends. Well, he was just a side character, after all. What do you expect? I tried to kill him in one shot, but that was just a dream. I have to become powerful as soon as possible, or I'll die for sure.

After he died, the rift disappeared completely, and I deactivated all of my skills.

When I saw Sam looking at me like he had seen a monster, I wanted to bury him in the mall. But I controlled my emotions because when humans feel threatened, they can't see anything else.

I've saved him three times in just one day, and yet he looks at me like that. If he wasn't my family, I would have killed him on the spot for this behaviour.

He was so scared he couldn't even open his mouth. That's why I don't want to reveal my abilities to anyone.

"Look, Sam, there are only two rules in this world. First, you either die by the strongest hand, or you become the strongest," I said.

He nodded, and I could tell that he understood the gravity of his actions. However, I wasn't angry with him. That was only natural.

It seemed that I had to create a secret identity for myself sooner than I had anticipated.

"Alice, design an ability that can alter memories and erase them without any side effects," I commanded.

If you think it's challenging, well, it's not. I can literally change reality with my abilities. Memory alteration is the least of my problems.

Ability Name: Memory Forge

Rank: Unique

Description:

Memory Forge is an extraordinary and unparalleled ability created by Alice using your Skill Creation ability. It possesses the remarkable power to manipulate, alter, and erase memories without any undesirable side effects. Additionally, within your Cosmic Domain, when enemies meet their demise, you gain the ability to read their memories, delving into their past experiences and uncovering hidden truths. This unique feature allows you to gather valuable information and uncover secrets from the minds of your defeated foes.

After reading the description of this new ability, I felt satisfied. I then turned to Sam and called him over as we sat on the debris.

He approached me with fear in his eyes, but I reassured him, saying, "Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you. You're my family, after all."

Placing my hand on his head, I continued.

[Memory Forge]

Sam fell into a deep sleep. I delved into his mind, immersing myself in a vivid cinematic experience of his secret life history. Controlling my impulses, I navigated through his memories, discovering his encounters with girls and other aspects of his personal life.

With precision, I erased his recollection of the rift that had appeared before us, erasing any trace of the event. When he woke up, it would be as if nothing had happened.

I had no desire for my family to see me as a monster. In this apocalyptic situation, it was important to maintain a low profile. Keeping my abilities and actions a secret brought me a sense of comfort and security.

Carrying Sam on my back like a piggyback ride, I employed Instant Transfer multiple times to find a safe place where I could rank up.

After an extensive search, I finally discovered a secure location—an underground basement within a collapsed bank building. Though the building had crumbled, the basement provided a temporary sanctuary.

Finding a spot to sit, I gently placed Sam on the ground and settled down myself. Summoning a water bottle, I relieved my thirst, taking a refreshing sip from the cool liquid.

Fatigue washed over me, and I entrusted my safety to Alice, relying on her to utilize my abilities should any threats arise.

"Alice, I'm going to sleep. Utilize all available energy to enhance my rank and extract the demon's skills. Scan the area repeatedly for any suspicious entities and eliminate them," I instructed.

[Yes, Master. I will fulfill these tasks,] Alice replied.

With that, I fell asleep without any worries, surrendering myself to the embrace of slumber.
