This chapter is set before Chapter 5, three days have passed from our fourth chapter. One of our beloved characters has set foot in Siana’s Spells and Serums, looking about before their walnut brown eyes laid themselves on a clear case reading “Mystery Magic of the Day” that piqued our character’s interest.
“Hey, Siana, could I get the mystery item?” They asked.
“Okay, coming right up Shigeo!” Siana replied, not exactly catching the current mood of the story. Sighing, Shigeo took the potion, which was hued a comforting, curious yellow.
----------------------------------------
“I’m back Jamey, and look! I found a cool potion at Siana’s.” Shigeo stepped into the mouth of the cave.
“Let me see,” Jamey held out his hand to receive the concoction.
“Is that today’s potion?” A nearby Athol asked, making Gale, who was also nearby interested.
“Yeah, I wonder what it does,” Shigeo answered.
“Why not drink it?” Jamey handed it back after a thorough look-over.
“I don’t wanna drink it, what if it’s an attack potion?”
“Then how are you gonna know what it does?”
“I dunno, have someone else drink it?”
“Not it.” Athol said, touching her nose with her tail.
“Not it,” Gale did the same soon after, lightly touching her dog nose with a finger.
“Not it!” Shigeo jumped to the ground, touching his nose
“Crap,” Jamey said, “Redo?”
“No, no redos, just drink it!” Shigeo replied.
“Fine,” Jamey whined slightly before slowly undoing the cork of the flask.
“Let me,” Shigeo snatched it and popped the cork off, handing it back to Jamey.
Jamey groaned as he held it, hesitantly, he lifted the rim of the glass to his lips.
“We’ll look away,” Athol twirled Gale around to face the wooden wall before doing the same.
“Thanks…” Jamey lowered the glass slightly. Shigeo, who was beside him, pushed the bottom of the flask up, making the potion inside get shoved into Jamey’s open mouth. Instantly, Jamey keeled over and started to cough before a puff of smoke emerged from the ground below him, encasing him. Once it dispersed, all that was seen was a small Yorkshire Terrier. Shigeo burst into laughter almost immediately.
“Y-you can look now,” Shigeo held back his laughing fit to speak.
“Pff…” Athol clapped her hand over her mouth..
“Aww a puppyy~. But where’s Jamey?” Gale darted over to start petting the yorkie-ified Jamey.
Jamey attempted to say something but it simply came out as a few yips. “Hewo to you too!” Gale cooed, making Shigeo swoon. I should have tried the potion instead darn it.
As Gale’s gentle, captivated hands wrapped around Jamey’s torso, making him shudder.
If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.
“Gale stop! Please!” Jamey squirmed, trying to break free.
“You're so cute…” Gale pressed her cheek into Jamey’s now flushed ones.
“Stop…” He groaned, knowing his cry won’t be heard. Shigeo was giving him a dirty glare. Mischievously, Jamey looked up and gave Gale a bunny-kiss to irritate Shigeo further. He could almost see the anger radiating from the fellow cadet.
“Gale… did you hear anyone run off?” Athol said, a sympathetic look
“No…”
“Have you ever thought that the dog-.”
“No! The puppy is not made from a transformation potion.”
“Whatever you say, I’m going to Siana’s to get a reversal potion,” Athol waved the three off as she left.
“Say, what gender is it?” Shigeo said after a few minutes, making direct eye-contact with the yorkie. Shit shit shit nope nope nope, I’m out. Peace! Jamey squirmed out of Gale’s grasp and ran for it.
“Wait no! Puppy!” Gale stretched out her hands in the direction of Jamey’s escape route.
“Shigeo…” She looked to the other cadet, a sad glitter activating puppy eyes. “Can you help me get it back please?”
The plebe’s heartstrings were tugged to no end until he replied, “I’ll help, don’t worry,” Shigeo said, abnormally sweetly.
“Thank you,” Gale’s tail started to whip back and forth, looking like a blur. Shigeo was internally thankful that he wasn’t behind her at the moment, yet still dying of the cuteness.
“Okay, I think it went that way,” Shigeo pointed and they walked into the cave. Gale following once her tail reduced its wagging speed significantly.
“What the-” A voice was heard from inside a room.
“A Yorkie?” Another asked.
“Yip! Yip yip!”
“Who'sya talkin’ too hm?” A third one said in a light voice.
“Rrrrr….” Jamey groaned.
“Has any- Oh you found the dog I was looking for. Thanks guys.” Shigeo motioned with one hand for Gale to stay out of sight.
“This your dog Shigeo?” The Southern accented one asked.
“Yup, sorry it’s such an asshole.” Shigeo scooped up the yorkie Jamey.
“Sorry to bother y’all.” Shigeo walked out, Jamey in hand. Once arriving back at the mouth of the cave, Jamey compiled for approximately 20+ minutes with whatever they did with him (including putting him in burritos and giving him the Yorkie hairstyle).
A rustling was heard from a tree making the three jump. “Who are you? Show yourself.” Gale ordered.
“‘Ight, whatever you say,” a young woman emerged from the leaves, hanging from a branch with her legs.
“I asked who you are,” Gale prompted.
“The Creator.” The woman replied.
“I meant a name.” Gale said bluntly.
“And I meant to make Athol the guide but oh well” she answered, lowering herself off the branch.
“How do you know Athol?”
“How do I-that’s irrelevant at the moment, and isn’t helping the story not have spoilers…” The woman muttered the last words to herself, “anyways, I just want to play with our little yorkie here.”
“She seems okay to me,” Shigeo whispered to Gale.
“Alright, just don’t take away my puppy.” Gale warned.
“Trust me, if I stole him it would all be over,” she walked over to Jamey. Strangely, she seemed on the safe side, the yorkie allowed her to pet him, nestling into her lap.
“Wow, how does he like you so much?” Shigeo asked, “We don’t even know your name.”
“He knows I’m not the enemy. Unlike the one you're going to meet. Just a warning, don’t cast them out, just cuz’ they have a problem that doesn’t mean that they won’t change. Demon noodles are the true enemy,” the woman said in a serious tone.
Shff Shff. Athol emerged from the foliage nearby, “Got the potion.” Jamey started to wag his tail happily.
“Oh nice, by the way do you know her?” Shigeo pointed.
“First off, the dog is a boy, and second off, of course I know him.”
“What? Wait there used to be someone here that-”
“Isn’t here any longer apparently, anyways, hey, you thirsty?” Athol patted the ground to call for Jamey, a full glass of clear water-like liquid. The small yorkie lapped up the potion before Athol threw a set of clothing at him, clotheslining Gale so she doesn’t see. The smoke puff emerged once more, dispersing to Jamey, (fully clothed thank God).
“Athol! Why did you do that?”
“Reasons.”
The rest of the day continued like nothing happened, the only thing left from the mysterious woman was a note that had a picture of two curved lines overlapping with a spiral in the gap where the lines overlap. On the back was a bunch of cursive-messy print words no one could decipher.
