At the beginning, I was very cautious but then, after an hour, I started to lower my guard. I didn’t find anyone.

As I started to walk normally I noticed some movement on my left.

The 1,5 meters tall white monkey looked at me with bewildered eyes and I froze.

‘Shit, what should I do? Should I kill it? But it hasn’t attacked me yet. But he could alarm the others’

Noticing that even the monkey hadn’t decided to act I quickly dived into the nearest shadow and disappeared from her senses.

The monkey couldn’t understand what happened and with a shriek started to run on the treetops into the distance not noticing me following it.

We arrived in a big clearing at the center of which was a 500m high hill. The monkey went inside a cave dug into the hill. I decided to wait hidden into the shadow one kilometer away in another direction than the one I had arrived from.

Just as I predicted the little monkey exited the cave followed by a bunch of other monkeys among which were 7 rank 3 monkeys.

I sneaked into the cave. Inside there was a big cave filled with holes that probably functioned as homes for the white monkeys. From a wall surged a water source that flowed in a huge pit at the center of the cave filled to the brim with a golden liquid emanating yang qi.

In the cave, there were still a few monkeys but by being inside a cave they couldn’t detect me.

I examined the liquid. From the responses of my body it wouldn't only be effective for breaking through the foundation establishment realm but also improving my physical cultivation. Now I understand how the monkeys had so many rank 3 individuals.

I made a decision.

And I jumped inside the pit. Immediately there was a commotion as the yang qi inside dispelled my stealth, but Ignored the alarmed cries of the monkeys and started to absorb the golden liquid and put it inside my inventory. Two 2-meter tall and one 2,5 meters tall monkeys went down the pit. The biggest one spoke: “Intruder! Give back the sacred liquid and maybe I will leave you with an intact body”

With them being so unreasonable I felt better about stealing from them. I answered with only two words: “Make me.”

With a roar the three monkeys charged towards me. But they were clumsy, they got into each other's ways, and it was obvious that they hadn’t had a decent fight in their life.

I dodged their strikes and attacked with my yin-enhanced claws while meeting their golden qi-filled attacks with my yang qi. I learned my lesson from the spiders.

In a few bouts, the two smaller monkeys were down, while the bigger one without the other two getting in its way started to show surprising prowess. At some point though, when it was obvious that it would lose, it started using its superior agility to move around throwing qi-enhanced rocks my way.

After a few minutes, I was growing frustrated and decided to use my trump card: the technique learned from the temple’s stele.

From my yin-enhanced claws were launched a few streaks of yin qi that hit the monkey boss and cut him down. Remembering the words of the Old Bear I decided to collect the corpse to obtain his yang qi.

Then I ran away, while I was sure that I could defeat the other monkeys in a battle I didn’t want to needlessly slaughter them.

The escape went without an itch but it was only after I crossed the sea again and I faced the 2000m high cliff that I exclaimed.

“Fuck, I have to climb again!”
