Chapter 3: Bax-Attack!

"And then, my girlfriend left me too," Will said as he walked beside Lueka.

"Damn, your life sucks. Hahahaha. I bet you're glad you ended up here," Lueka said.

"Hey, none of what I just said was funny! My life was totally ruined because of that damn, reckless truck...I hate trucks!"

"But, now you're all healed, so what are you complaining about?"

"Oh, I don't know Lueka. Maybe it's the fact that I'll never see any of my loved one's ever again!!"

"Well, from what you just said, it sounds like you became a burden to everyone around you anyway, soooo."

"Oh, just shut up, will you? I still miss my mommy!" Will shouted.

"Ahahaha. You're not so bad after all, Will. I'm glad I helped your sorry ass out. You're hilarious," Lueka said with a grin on her face, as she pat will on the back.

Oh my God, she's so beautiful! That smile....that damn smile melts my heart! I think I'm in love, baby. I really have to show out for her today on this mission!!!

The newly formed duo of Lueka and Will were getting along quickly, as they made their way to do their first mission together. Lueka's funds were almost empty after helping Will purchase gear, as well as the entry fee at the guild. Will didn't have a cent to his name yet, so a job was a must for them today, or they'd both be sleeping in the wilderness. Their first mission together would be to clear a cave full of mini-trolls near by, that had been eating up all the crops in the surrounding area. It was a lower ranked mission for the two novice adventurers, but the reward would provide more than enough funds for food and shelter for the night.

"Alright, let's go bust up some trolls!" Will shouted.

"Are you sure you're ready for this Will? We're almost here. Look, there's the cave up ahead," Lueka said as the two made their way through the wilderness.

"Don't you worry about a thing, Lueka. I'll just do a wham, then a bam, then I'll finish em all off with my Bax-Attack, and everything will be alright!"

"Great, I'll just sit back and let you have at it then!"

"Y-you'll help out if I'm in trouble though, right?"

The boy's question was met with just a glare as they headed into the cave.

"I-It's really dark and cold and scary in here, Lueka. I don't think this is a good idea after all."

"Oh, come on. Don't tell me you're wimping out already! What happened to your baxtax or whatever?"

"T-that was just a show! I wanted to seem cool, so you'd like me..."

"Wow, you're a loser."

"I know...so where are these mini-trolls at?"

"Just stay quiet and be alert. They're nocturnal, so they sleep during the day. We're in their resting spot, so they'll be around."

"Yes ma'am."

Two young adventurers continued their journey into the heart of the cave, searching for trolls to dispose of.

"I-I see one up ahead. Looks like it's still sleeping, phew," Will said.

"Nice, they said there should be about ten of them. This is the perfect chance for you, Will. Sneak up on it and kill the little bastard."

"You got it, piece of cake!" Will said.

"Take this!!!" Will said, as he lunged at the small, hairy beast with full force. He took out his brand new sword and swung as hard as he could towards the mini troll, but to no avail.

"W-what the hell is this. My sword won't budge. Lueka, what the fuck!!!?"

"Oh yeah, sorry. I forgot to mention....the mini trolls have extremely sticky hair at the base of their head. It's like a defense mechanism or whatever. So, you have to aim at the rest of their bodies...but not the head. Which you just did. The only place not to aim was the he-"

"Ok, ok. I get it already. Could you just give me a hand here!"

"Sorry, on it," Lueka said, as she rushed in to help Will. With one stroke of her axe, the ogre cut the troll straight in half, revealing intestines and other icky bodily fluids of the troll.

"Thanks Lueka, that was amazing!"

"It's nothing. The stickiness is deactivated once the trolls are dead by the way, so your sword should be untangled soon. Let's keep moving.

"Ok! I think I see another one up ahead. I'll handle this one this time for sure. Eat this troll! Bax-Attack!!!" William screamed, as he cut the troll straight in half, making sure to aim from the side this time.

"I-I did it! Who's the strongest? Me! Baxter! I'm the man, whooooooo!!!!"

"Shut the hell up, we still got eight more to go!"

"As you say, my dear."

"I swear, I'm gonna end up killing you if you keep calling me that," Lueka said with an intense glare.

"Yikes, you're scary, ahahaha."

And so, the two novice adventurers continued their mission of slaying mini-trolls with relative ease. Lueka ended up slaying seven beasts, while Will decimated three. The pair had earned themselves food and shelter for the night at last.

"I can't believe I only ended up killing three. You totally beat me out there, Lueka. You're like, crazy strong and stuff," Will said as he guzzled down an alcoholic beverage.

Damn, this mead is hitting me! I'm so glad drinking is legal at eighteen in this world!

"I didn't know it was a competition. You earned your keep though, I'd say. I-I think I like having you around," Lueka said bashfully as she scarfed a piece of chicken down her mouth.

Oh my god, she's so hot even when she's eating!

"I like being with you too, Lueka! I think we make a great team! Let's continue adventuring together from now on!"

"Y-yeah."

"What should our next mission be? Huh, huh? How about we go out and slay a dragon?!"

"I thought I told you already; I'm no where near as strong as you think I am! You're so damn stupid!"

"Ahahaha," Will laughed, as he continued to drink and enjoy the night after a job well done.

"By the way, who taught you how to fight like that, Lueka? You really got some good moves."

"My father did, but he died. My mother did too. In fact, all of my family and friends died," Lueka said quietly, with a somber look in her eyes.

"O-oh. I'm so sorry to hear that..."

Well, this is awkward now. I had no idea that this girl went through so much. She really is strong!

"I-is that why you were adventuring all by yourself?"

"No, I actually just started adventuring yesterday myself. My dad lent me some money to help me get started."

"I see. Your father sounds like a wonderful ma-, wait a minute. I thought your family was dead!!!"

"I was joking! That's payback for all of your unwarranted nicknames," Lueka said with a grin on her face.

"Well, that's a hell of a dark joke to make all of a sudden, heh," Will giggled nervously.

That smile!!! I must make her mine!

And so, the new duo enjoyed the rest of their evening by drinking and celebrating their newly found team. What adventures await these young whipper snapper's next?
