Chapter 1: Beginning and Ending

Chapter 1: Beginning and Ending

"I hate my life," the troubled youth said as his father finishes changing his diaper.

For three hundreds days straight, William Baxter had to be changed by his parents after a car accident that left him completely paralyzed. His friends had stopped coming around after just a few months. His high school sweetheart left him as well. His parents tried their best to keep a positive attitude, but the boy could sense the frustrations piling up on them too. He could tell by their facial expressions how frustrated his parents must be.

"William! Don't say that. You're doing just fine. You'll be recovered in no time and will go on to have a great baseball career! Just push through it, son. You got this!" Mr. Baxter said.

"I can't recover from this, father! You know that already!" William said.

"Oh, come on Will. Don't be like this. The doctor said-"

"I don't give a damn what the doctor says! I can't heal from this. You and mom both know....that I'll never walk again!!!"

"Will...I...I'm sorry," Mr. Baxter says as a tear streams down his face.

"Just leave. I'm tired."

"Just let me know if you need anything, son. I'll always be there for you."

"Yeah, whatever," the begrudged William said as he turns over in his bed to fall asleep.

Little did Mr. Baxter know, his son would never be seen again after the night had passed. On a bright full moon night, the moon lit up William's small bedroom through his window, as he laid down in a deep trance for one last time in his world.

"Huh? Where am I?" The puzzled youth said as he looked around his surroundings and noticed a brand new landscape in front of his eyes.

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

"W-where am I? I could've sworn I was sleeping in my bed. J-just what the hell is going on around here???"

As the youth looked around what seemed to be the middle of a city, he noticed more than just humans around. He saw Elves and Ogres; fairies and wizards. Strange creatures that he had never seen before all moving about like everything was normal. Then, he looked at his legs and began to cry.

"I-I can walk!" The youth screamed out. "I can walk, I can walk, I can walk!!!!"

"Shut the hell up!" A mysterious voice screamed out.

Damn, can't I have a moment to celebrate! Who the hell said thaaaa-

William turned his shoulder to discover a beautiful woman had uttered those cruel words to him. This woman was not only beautiful, but she was also an ogre from what he could tell. Though not an ogre in the traditional sense. This woman had Horns and fangs; and a mean mug on her face to boot. However, she also had beautiful black hair, luscious green skin, and starry blue eyes that melted the youth's heart instantly. Though still nervous and unfamiliar with this world, William had to talk to this woman.

"I-I'm sorry about that! Listen, I'm kinda lost here. Could you tell me what country we're in?" William asked.

"Huh, what the hell are you talking about? We're in the kingdom of Saberon, of course. What are you, stupid?" The woman said

"Y-yeah. I actually don't know how I ended up here. I have no clue what's going on here, so, could you maybe show me around a bit? Like, where to get a job and stuff maybe? I could use a new friend, given my situation and all," William said.

"Ehhhh. That's kinda suspicious."

"Oh pleaaaaase! I'll do anything you ask! I'll rub your feet, cook, clean....anything! I'll seriously die out here if you don't help!"

"Ok, ok. Jeez, relax. Sure, I'll help you out. But, ya see....I'm an adventurer. I go on dangerous missions and what not....So it'll be dangerous. But, if you can provide support for me, in exchange I can show you the ropes."

"A-an adventurer? That sounds amazing! Sign me up! Sign me up right now!"

"You really are a strange one, aren't you? What's your name, kid?"

"It's William, but you can just call me Will. And what about you, my princess?"

"P-p-princess? The ogre said while blushing. "I-it's Lueka. And no need for the princess part."

"Yes Mam!"

"No need for the Mam part either! Just Lueka is fine."

"You got it! Nice to meet you, Lueka!"

People here have such weird names!

And so, the boy started his new adventure in a new world. A new life had been granted to him, but at what cost?
