A very long time ago, when the world was still young, humanity was simply beginning to learn about the wonders of the world, worshiping the gods as they should. A particular breed of people choose to develop independently from the gods. These people would be known as "Ethereans." Even by our modern standards, the Ethereans would still be considered a sophisticated race of highly advanced technology. In what felt like the blink of an eye, this civilization figured out how to build roads, make their paper currency, and even begin to develop their internet. It was a sudden, unexpected leap in technology, a miracle brought forth by the brilliant minds of a few humans who transcended their humanity to become machines. The speed of their progress was nothing short of a miracle, achieving what seemed impossible in less than two hundred years.  Although their prosperity was great and about to expand and explode to all the other nations of the world, they were eventually stopped by the gods! Feeling betrayed and insulted, the gods of the first council descended from the skies to place an end to the Ethereans rule. Why would these punny humans have more lavish lifestyles than the gods themselves? Technology was something that was locked for the use of the gods and no one else's! Humanity couldn't receive a small taste of comfort, said the gods as they prepared the calamity from the heavens. Thus, a great civilization vanished in a short hard fought war, where the Ethereans were ambushed by every single living god and nation in the world combined!
