The school and the grounds felt colder than usual as winter set in. No one could really understand it.

So far, the dementors had not been a problem for their studies.

The first Quidditch match of the season was about to take place. It was a match between Gryfindor and Huffelpuff. The whole school was in the stands. The girls had done their make-up and were dressed in their best clothes for the weekend.

The Huffelpuff Seeker was Cedric Diggory. The girls seemed to swoon over him just as they did over Lockheart.

It was an awfully cold and stormy day. The wind howled from all sides and freezing rain pelted everyone.

They saw Harry fly high into the sky 10 or 15 minutes into the game. He had

apparently seen the snitch, and was followed closely by Diggory. "He's soooo dreamy." She heard a 5th year yell behind her.

The atmosphere in the pitch changed before they could blink. It became even more icy than it had been in the first place. And the happiness that had been there seemed to disappear. Avalon knew what was about to happen.

As she looked up, she saw dozens of Dementors flying high. And a minute later, Harry seemed to freeze on his broom, and seconds later he fell off. "OH NO HARRY!" someone shouted. Before they knew it, everyone was screaming.

"He's not going to survive that fall, my God. " she heard Ginny say as tears streamed down her cheeks. "ARESTO MOMENTUM." They heard Dumbledore's voice calling out. He was standing in the faculty stands holding out his wand.

Whatever the spell was, it was helping, Harry was now falling extremely slowly. "It's OK Ginny, you can look now." Avalon said as Harry was gently laid down on the grass.

Seconds later Cedric came down holding the snitch.

"I GOT IT..." he shouted as he looked around the pitch and saw the horrified faces. "IT CAN'T BE..." he said as he saw Harry lying unconscious on the ground.

"EXPECTO PATRONUM" came from various teachers and many glowing animals ran around the Quidditch pitch keeping the Dementors away.

He walked over to Madam Hooch. "I want a remach." He said, "We didn't win this fair." Avalon heard him say as Harry was carried off the pitch. Madam Hooch shook her head, and Cedric threw his broom on the ground and marched off angrily.

"Sonorus," Dumbledore said as he stepped into the middle of the pitch. "Mr Potter will be all right. "Please make your way quickly to your common rooms. I will send your heads of house with news." He said. All the students left the Quidditch pitch as quickly as they could.

As Avalon made hes way back to the Ravenclaw tower Alone, she thought she heard a rustling sound in the distance. "Hello, who is it?" she asked. It came closer. "Hello?" she continued.

After she rounded the corner, the hall went cold. She knew what it meant. She turned and started to run. But the cold followed her. She managed to run for 2 floors.

But now the cold seemed to be coming from both sides. "Help," she managed to call out before 2 dementors came at her from either side of the corridor, cornering her.

Before she could think, the cold crept into her as the Dementors came closer and closer.

"NOOO LILY!" she heard again. She could feel the Dementors creeping closer. "LILY!!!" She heard again, only more clearly.

"help" she said weakly again. She felt one of the dementors come close to her face, "LILY!" she heard as clearly now as if someone was shouting it in her ear.

She felt herself drifting away as the Dementor seemed to suck something out of her.

"EXPECTO PATRONUM," she heard behind her. And the cold stopped.

"Avalon!" she heard someone shout, it sounded far away. "Avalon?" she heard again, this time it sounded a little closer.

"Avalon please be ok." She heard and saw someone kneeling beside her. "Avalon!" she recognised the voice as Professor Lupin. "Avalon!" she tried to tell him that she was all right but she couldn't, she couldn't move.

"GET AWAY FROM HER!" she heard him scream. "Avalon blink for me." Lupin said. "Didn't I tell you to get away from her?"

she heard. "Avalon please." she heard Lupin say again. She tried to move but even moving her eyelids seemed impossible.

"I'm warning you Lupin!" she heard Snape say. "Avalon come on move something." Lupin asked as she felt someone take her hand in thiers

"DON'T YOU TOUCH HER." She heard Snape scream. She felt Lupin being pulled away from her. "Saverus stop." She heard Lupin say, "Stay away from her!" she heard Snape say.

She heard someone kneeling beside her again. "Avalon?" she heard Snape say. "Avalon!" he said again, sounding a little scared. "AVALON!" she finally managed to move one of her fingers. "She moved." He said. "That means you didn't hurt her." Snape added.

"It was dementors, Severus." Lupin said. "That's ridiculous, Dementors are not alowed in school." Snape said. "I know, but I swere Severus it were Dementors. And I was almost too late." Lupin said. "She should be waking up soon."

"I'm not leaving her here." Snape said and she felt herself being lifted off the ground. "I didn't know you cared so much, Severus." Lupin said. "Shows how much you know." He said.

She woke up lying on a bed. "Where am I?" Avalon asked. "In my room." She heard Snape say. "Professor?" she asked, sitting up, her hair still full of mist. Its ok Avalon, your safe." He said as he sat down beside her.

"Here, drink this." he said as he handed her a cup. "What is it?" she asked. "Pure chocolate milk with some Wiggenwelt mixed in," he said.

She drank it and just like that the fog in her head cleared. "What happened in Avalon?" he asked her. "There were dementors." she began. "They were coming from both sides, I heard someone scream, I think it was me. he was screaming for. I think it was my father. " she said, trying to remember everything.

"That doesn't make sense, Avalon Dementors aren't supposed to be in the school." Snape said.

"I know I heard you say that, but they were." She replied, "What do you mean you heard it? You were out cold." Snape asked. "I don't know, I was not unconscious but I couldn't move.

It all started when they were near me, it felt like something was being sucked out of me. " she replied.

Snape looked angry. "they should never have been there. "He said, as if he hadn't seen her. "It's bad enough they tried to kill her.son. but now also you," he added.

"Harry?"

Avalon asked. Hearing her voice seemed to bring him out of his trance. "Dementors shouldn't be in here." He said. "Avalon, I will take you to your common room. and once i dropped you off I need to speak to the Headmaster." Snape said.

When she reached her commonroom Luna pulled her into a hug. "I've been so worried about you." She said. "I even went to Gryffindor to see if you were visiting Ginny." She said.

"I mean, you disappeared after Quidditch and no one could find you." Luna said. "I even went to Professor Snape." She added. "That explains why he was there." Avalon said.

"What happened?" Luna asked. Avalon sat down and told Luna and her friends who had joined them everything. "Wow. Luna said.

"Maybe you were kidnapped." Lucy exclaimed out of nowhere. "Where did you get that from?" Avalon asked. "Well, like you said. You keep hearing someone calling for Lily. what if it isnt your Second name." she said the others looked at her"no listen What if your first name isn't Avalon but Lily?" Lucy replied.

"No." Avalon said. "I was adopted. My mum isn't a kidnapper." She said, defending Jolene. "I'm not saying she is. Maybe someone kidnapped you and gave you up for adoption." Lucy replied.

"You watch too much television." Sharon said. "I what?" Lucy said. "Even worse. You made that up all by yourself." Sharon added. They looked at each other for a few seconds before bursting into laughter.

"I still think what she hears means something." Lucy said. "I'm sure it does. I'll just probably never know what." Avalon said.

A few seconds later, Flitwick came in. "Listen up, students. The Headmaster wants you to know that the Dementors will be leaving the grounds after the attack on Mr Potter." He explained.

"And we want you all to be careful. Classes will start as normal on Monday. That will be all." Flitwick said and left.

"Exactly, that's all," Emma said. "So what's stopping Black from bursting in now?" she asked.

"Dumbledore?" Oona said. "Well, that's something." Emma said. "But still, if Black really is that dangerous. We are in more danger now than we were before.
