The day before her birthday she was woken by the cry of mrs Weasley
"Wake up Arthur, wake up. Dumbledore has sent an owl, it is Harry". She heard Mrs Weasley say. "He's run away from home. Oh heavens, he's been using magic outside of school. With Black on the loose." She added sounding frightened. "It's going to be all right, Molly dear, if Dumbledore knows that he has run away then he knows where he is. The man seems to know everything." Mr Weasley replied to his wife. "But Arthur, he wouldn't send an owl if it wasn't important." She said, sounding a little annoyed. "Yes I agree, but that doesn't mean we have to run up and down our houses." Mr Weasley said sleepily. "YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND A THING!" Mrs Weasley snapped at her husband. "I understand, Molly. But what are we supposed to do?" Arthur asked.
Avalon ventured out onto the landing. She soon felt a tap on her shoulder. Looking around, she saw it was Ginny. She beckoned her into her bedroom. She saw that Fred and George were already there as she entered. "Well, welcome Miss Prince," George said. He was obviously trying to sound like Dumbledore. "Why don't you have a seat?" Fred said sounding the same. Avalon sat down.
"Popcorn?" the twins asked in unison. "But your parents are fighting." She said. "We know," George said. "It's great," Fred added. Avalon didn't understand why it was great. But she decided not to worry about it. "Don't worry." Ginny said. "No, they don't do it often," George said. "But the last 3 years or so when they do." Fred added, "It's about Harry." They finished in unison. She couldn't help it, it made her laugh.
A few minutes later Ron, the youngest of the Weasley brothers, came in. "Looks like breakfast will be late." He said as he dropped onto Ginny's bed. "Aww." Fred started. "Is Likkle Ronnykins hungwy?" George finished. "Oh, shut up." Ron said. The twins grinned at him. "It's just that we should be on our way to Diagon Alley soon." Ron said. "I didn't know that Hermione had rubbed off on you, brother." Fred said. "Or is it Percy?" He added. "I said shut up." Ron bit at his brother.
The oldest brother Avalon knew at least stuck his head out. "Can you all keep it down. I am trying to write a letter." He said sternly. "Oh shure Percy." George said. "But maybe you should ask Mum and Dad to keep it down." Fred finished for his brother. "Stop being obnoxious ." Percy said. "Oooh, the big head boy is using big words." George said, supporting his brother.
The argument that Mr and Mrs Weasley had.went on for another hour. Eventually Mr Weasley relented, which the Weasley children said happened often. "It's not like Dad's a weak man." George began. "Far from it. But if you allow Mum to go on like this, she will never stop." Fred added. "Yeah, and if she does, I am pretty sure the house is going to blow up." Ron added.
"Breakfast." Came from downstairs. Mrs Weasley still sounded a little upset. "Just sit down at the table. Don't say anything unless she asks." Ginny whispered to her then quickly sat down.
"Good morning Avallon." Mrs Weasley said, still sounding annoyed. "Good morning Mrs Weasley." Avalon said and then quickly sat down herself. During breakfast a very big tawny owl dropped what looked like a letter. "Oh good, Dumbledore's reply." Mrs Weasley said. She opened the letter and quickly started reading it. "oh good grief they let the poor boy stay at the cauldron all by himself." she said out loud.
"don't react to it." Fred whispered at her. "good heavens."she exclaimed. "whats the matter mother?"Percy asked. "now you've done it." George said under his breath. "Poor harry is in the Leaky cauldron all by himself. I cant... oh Come on, everyone eat up and then pack were going to Leaky Cauldon. She said. "I blame you Percy." George bit him.
After breakfast there was a flurry of activity, people running around grabbing things from everywhere to put in their trunks. By lunchtime they were all packed. But tempers were running high. At one point Percy had shouted at Ron. Percy had mislaid his new Headboy pin and was blaming his youngest brother. The twins grinned on the upstairs landing. "We actually took it." George said. "Tried to make it, say the big Head Boy." Fred said. The whole family ate a tense lunch and then left for London.
Mr Weasley's work had lent them 3 enchanted cars to get there. On the outside they looked like ordinary Toyota cars. But the inside was something else, the car that she, Ginny, Mrs Weasley and her mother were going to take had a long bench seat. It stretched out so that 6 people could easily sit on it. Across from it was a mini fridge. Well, it looked like a mini fridge, but when Avalon opened it, there were 5 shelves inside, including a full size freezer. The lighting in the car was a soft yellow.

But the most interesting thing about the 3Th car that Percy and Mr Weasley would be travelling in, according to Avalon, was the fact that. All the Trunks were in the boot and there was even room for her mother's luggage. "OK, last check," Mrs Weasley said.
"Everyone use the washroom. And check your rooms for ANYTHING you might have.Forgotten. We will not be back before term starts," Mrs Weasley said sternly.
It was a good call, Ginny had forgotten her favourite teddy. She told Avalon that if she ever told anyone about the teddy, she would pay for it. Ron had forgotten half his clothes. Fred and George had forgotten a very mysterious box. Avalon found her cauldron still under her bed. And Percy had even forgotten his owl. They finally left about an hour later.
They reached London and the Leaky Cauldron after a journey that took another two hours because of traffic jams. "Ah yes," said the toothless barkeeper. "I've been expecting you. Professor Dumbledore has arranged rooms for you all." He added.
"I have two rooms for the Prince's family?" he said. Jolene raised her hand. And with a flick of his wand, 2 keys appeared in front of her. "And 5 rooms for the Weasleys," he said, and with another flick of his wand 5 more keys appeared. As they were taken upstairs, Jolene looked at the walls, they all seemed very close together. "I guess the rooms are small then," she said. Tom laughed a little.
She opened the door. She was greeted by a large suite with its own bathroom. This made Avalon open her room immediately. As soon as she did, she was also greeted by a beautiful suite. It was a little smaller than her mother's, but it had its own bathroom, and it even had a worktop that held a fridge. Ginny's room was across from hers. It was a smaller room and she shared the bathroom with her mum and dad. But her bed was a beautiful four poster bed that reminded Avalon of the Gryffindor beds at Hogwarts.
The twins had a huge room with 2 Twin beds. Ron's room was opposite Harry's and was as big as Avalon's. But he shared a bathroom with the twins. And every 10 minutes or so a train would go by the window. You could see the driver sitting behind the window, so close was it to the window. But because of the magic in the room, you only saw the trains, you didn't hear them.
That evening they were all sitting at a large table in the cafe. Avalon sat next to Harry She didn't know if she really liked Harry. He was pretending to hate the way people were fawning over him. But his eyes told a different story. Fred and George joked that their eyes looked very similar. And who knew, they could be brothers and sisters. So for the rest of the day they jokingly called her Avalon Potter. Harry didn't seem to think it was funny. She somehow had some understanding of why. But her childhood had taught her that if you were to get angry at being teased. The mockers would have their fun and go on with the mockery. And it was a well-intentioned tease.
The owls with the lists of what they needed for the year came that same evening. Luckily for the Weasleys, apart from Percy's seventh year books, most of the books could be passed on.
But just like last year, there was money waiting for her. So they all went shopping for school supplies on her birthday. She was soon in the company of all her friends, who were also on their way to the shop for their own things. "Listen up!" Mrs Weasley said. "I want all of you to come to the Leaky Cauldron tonight for Ava's birthday. "She added. That really lifted her spirits. So the little inn was full that evening. There was a big cake on the table and presents all around it. The innkeeper, Tom, had outdone himself and prepared a delicious feast.
After dinner it was time to open the presents. Her friend Emma had given her a brand new Bookbag, with an expanding charm to make it fit everything she needed. Snape had sent her a set of golden scales for her Potions class. Lucy bought her an enchanted typewriter. You could talk to it and he wrote down what you said. Oona had given her a beautiful Dreamcatcher made especially for her. Sharon had a quill pen that would do her spell-checking for her.Mr and Mrs Weasley had made her a powder-blue jumper with the first letter of her name on it. George had groaned at this. "Now you have a Weasley jumper, poor thing," he had said about it. But Avalon really liked it and she was sure it would keep her nice and warm in the winter. Her mother had bought her a couple of necklaces that she really wanted.
After the presents, the music picked up. The conversation quickly turned to school. In the middle of the festivities, Hermione Granger came in. She took Harry and Ron with her. "I wonder who took the Cursed job," Fred said. "The what?" said Jolene. "The Cursed job. Defence Against the Dark Arts." replied George. "Jolene seemed a bit scared. "It's never been filled for more than a year," Fred added. That seemed to calm Jolene down. "We just won't tell her what happened to the teachers." George whispered to Ginny, Luna and Avalon. They went to bed late that night. The next morning was the last day of the summer holidays. That meant they had to eat breakfast before they packed everything away, and after lunch they all sat down at the inn for their last day. Avalon was excited to go back to school. She had missed Hogwarts so much.
