The school was under heavy surveillance. They had to be escorted to and from class again for the next few weeks. It began to feel like last year. It was now the end of May. The school felt stressed. Every corner was considered dangerous. What if he was hiding there?

Ginny had told them that the Gryffindor common room was now guarded by Sir Cardigan. He was a very bad Knight with an overweight pony. But he had been the only one brave enough to take the job. According to Ginny, he was infuriating and changed the password every day. Sometimes it was almost impossible to get into the common room.

One night, about a week later, Ron Weasley said he was about to be attacked by Sirius Black, which put the school on greater alert. The girls, including Ginny, were in the Ravenclaw common room. "How do you think he keeps getting in, assuming both times it was Black?" Lucy asked. "I don't know, but I don't think my brother would lie," Ginny said, "not about Black, I mean he's Harry's best friend. He said he was after Harry, so maybe he thinks killing his friends is the way to go?" she added.

"Maybe. Something doesn't seem right though," Avalon said. "What do you mean Ava?" said Ginny. "Well, think about it. He is a killer, right? He's supposed to be crazy. And how he gets in is not important right now. He is inside. He is wandering around the castle. With a bunch of unarmed, undertrained wizards. And no one is dead?" Avalon replied.

"He's after Harry." Ginny said. "Yeah ok maybe he is. But then he is in his bedroom hovering over his best friend's bed with a knife, doing nothing but waiting for the young wizard to wake up?" Avalon added. "Yes it is strange but like you said he is crazy, maybe he likes to torture?" Ginny said. "Maybe I don't know, it just all sounds strange."

"I agree," Sharon chimed in, "but weird or not. He could be dangerous, I mean he was holding a knife according to Ron." She added, "I'm just glad he's all right." Ginny said. "So am I," Avalon added. "Oh dear, she has a crush on all the Weasleys." Oona started, "It seems so. Hmm, I have more brothers, you know." Ginny said grinning. "Oh shut up." Avalon said throwing a pillow at Ginny.

"We should go to sleep, its late." Ginny said as she stood up. "I'm going to the Great Hall." She added with a sigh. After a few hours sleep, Avalon was awakened by the sensation of her matras changing. When she looked up, she saw a grimy skeleton-like face. She recognised it from the papers. She started to scream. She sat up and he was gone. "What's wrong?" asked Luna. "He was here!" Avalon said. "Who was Ava*" Oona asked, "Sirius Black." Avalon replied. Luna quickly ran out of the dormitory.

It seemed as if no time had passed when Luna came back in, followed by Snape. "Avalon." He said out of breath. "Are you all right? Did that bastard hurt you? " Snape asked sounding slightly panicked. "I don't think so." Avalon said. He checked every inch of her before stroking her hair. "Thank goodness you're all right." Snape said, "I'm going to find that creep and kill him." Snape said angrily and left the dormitory.

"He's madder than I've ever seen him." Sharon said as she climbed up to Avalon's bed. They were soon joined by Luna, Oona, Emma and Lucy. "What exactly happened?" Lucy asked. "I felt something on my bed and when I looked I saw him." Avalon said. "What was he doing?" Emma asked. "Nothing, he just stared, but even that was creepy. I mean he could do anything at any time." She replied.

They talked for several hours. At one point Snape came back in. "He must have left the castle." He said. "But I don't want you in here anymore, Avalon. Perhaps you and your friends should move to the Room of Requirement until Black is caught." Snape added, "No, I think it'll be all right, he hasn't done anything. "THAT DOESN'T MEAN HE WOULDN'T." Snape shouted.

"I'm sorry, Avalon." He said as he saw the shocked faces of the girls. "Your safety is most important to me." He added. "Maybe we should. I mean, he is a follower of you know who," Oona said. "And he is obviously unhinged." She added. "I mean, he should only be after Harry." Emma said. "Shouldn't Harry be more protected?" asked Avalon.

"He can look after himself Avalon. And he has plenty of people to look after him. You don't, so I want you ladies to go into the room and only come out for lessons. Deek will look after you in there," Snape told them. "I'll take you now, come on."

Snape took the girls to the Tapestry on the fifth floor. "Nice room." Lucy said. "Shh." Avalon told her. "Be patient." Snape walked past the wall 3 times, muttering that he had to hide them again. And the door appeared again. "Go inside, girls. Remember, only leave for lessons. I'll make sure Deek keeps it open.

They went in. Avalon expected to find the same flat-like room again. But she was very surprised. The room was bigger. The living area had a fireplace and 6 comfortable chairs. To the side were 6 doors, one of the doors was small, she assumed it was for Deek. The dining area had also been redecorated, it was now a large fancy looking room with 5 dining chairs. It had 2 doors in it, when they opened it there was an office with bookcases and 5 antique looking desks. The other was a spacious bathroom with a pool sized bath in it. There were 7 or 8 tabs on it.

"Nice place." Oona said. She looked at the 6 doors in the living area. There were names on them in gold ornate lettering. "Miss Prince your back Deek heard." They heard someone say. 4 of them jumped. Avalon smiled. "Yes Deek I am back. And I brought my friends with me.

"Glad to see you all, can Deek get you something?" he asked. "Not just now Deek, thanks, maybe we should just go to sleep. It is Saturday after all." Avalon said. "Good idea. Can Deek get some sleep too?" asked Deek. "Of course, you don't have to ask. Were friends, remember. "Deek smiled. "You are very friendly." Deek said. The girls disappeared behind their own doors and went to sleep.

The next morning they were woken by Deek. "Breakfast is ready ladies." Deek said as they sat down to breakfast in their pyjamas. "Why don't you sit down Deek and tell us some stories, I enjoyed that so much last time," Avalon said.

"What would Miss Prince like to hear about?" Deek asked. "Do you know Sirius Black?" Luna asked. "Yes Miss Lovegood Deek knows Mr Black. Do the misses want to hear?" Deek asked. "What was he like at school?" Luna asked,

"Deek will tell you as much as he can. Sirius Black started school when he was 11. He already had 3 wizard friends. He and his friends were all pure-blood wizards, but Sirius didn't seem to care about blood the rest of his family did. He was sorted into Gryffiindore just like all his friends. He was a bit mischievous. He and his friends used to go out at night and sneak around and do things they shouldn't. Like reading in the bad section of the library or sneaking into the kitchens." Deek started.

"Yeah, but Fred and George do that, you don't see them trying to murder people." Lucy said looking at Deek. "Deek cannot believe that he is guilty of this crime. Deek always saw Mr Black as a nice man. He and his friends." Deek replied to Lucy. "Who were those friends?" Avalon asked. Are they all in Azkaban now?" Avalon asked. "Oh no Miss Prince. His best friend was Mr James Potter. He is sadly gone, as is his dear wife, Miss Lily Evans. You remind Deek a little of her." Deek said

"Wait. Hold on. You mean Black and Potter were mates?" Emma asked. "Yes Miss Tonks, the best of friends they were. Poor Mr Potter. Died so young." Deek added, "That doesn't make sense Deek." Oona said. "They say he was right in the inner circle of You-Know-Who." She added. "Hard to believe, miss, but Deek only knew them at school, miss." Deek replied.

"You were talking about 2 more friends. "Oh, yes. Mr Remus Lupin and Mr Peter Pettigrew. They were rarely apart." Avalon's jaw dropped. "Professor Lupin was friends with Black and Potter?" she asked, stunned. "Yes, Miss Prince, best of friends. They were always running around the school getting into trouble. Or actually getting themselves out of trouble." Deek replied.

"Lupin is Black's friend?" Sharon asked. "Deek doesn't know Miss I only knew them at school. But at school Mr Black, Mr Potter and Professor Lupin were very close friends." Deek replied. "And that 4th boy Peter?" Luna asked.

"He always seemed to just follow around. Deek thinks he was tolerated by Mr's Lupin, Potter and Black." He replied. "Deek has heard rumours." He said. "Do you feel comfortable telling them to Deek?" Avalon asked.

"Deek is Miss, but Deek does not know how much is true." He added, "We will keep that in mind, sir." Luna answered him. Deek blushed. "Did I offend you?" Luna asked. "Oh no, Miss Deek has just never been called sir before." Deek explained. "Well sir, you might have to get used to it." Luna said smiling at him.

"Right the rumours." Deek started, still blushing. "Deek heard someone say that Mr Black betrayed Mr and Mrs Potter and that is why poor Miss Lily and poor Mr James are dead. But again, Deek doesn't know how much of it is true." He replied. "It would explain why he is after Harry." Emma said.

The next few weeks they spent most of their time with Deek. One night they were surprised to find a television and lots of popcorn in their living room. They even invited Deek to sleep with them. But after 3 weeks it started to get boring. They missed their housemates. They just hoped it would be over soon so they could go back to their normal lives.
