In a dark back alley, there were 2 men in completely different situations. One man, a youth, is trembling on the ground, hair disheveled and scared out of his wits. The other man, an old looking youth, is standing above him, with a devious look and creepy vibes surrounding him. The scared man could not muster up courage to even let out a sound, his throat felt dry as if all the water has been sucked out. However, this youth named Weakling 1 could not be blamed, as he was only Level 1, his physical stats could not cope with Zhang Wei’s speed. Although he was completely frightened, he did not feel regret, instead he felt like he was a very virtuous person.
Alas, for a noble person like me, this is a cruel but justified ending. Even if I had to rewind the situation, I would still have stopped Sir Zhang Wei. Sigh, my own undoing is my extremely virtuous and excellent self. Oh great heavens, why have you given this noble soul such a big caring heart.
….
Unexpectedly, this idiot had an even bigger and thicker skin than Zhang Wei. To make matters worse, even the real Author could not believe how thick skinned this Weakling 1 is. As such, he decided to give this man a very special name, very fitting for his character, Asyraaf.
At this very moment, Zhang Wei was staring deeply at Asyraaf. He was still trying to weigh all the options, either kill this idiot or make him ‘forget’ the incident. As killing him would very likely result in problems with his infiltration if it were found out, he decided on the second option, make him ‘forget’.
There are a lot of ways to make people forget certain things, psychological pressure could work, but that requires instilling trauma into Asyraaf and he was not adept at mental tactics. So that leaves physical persuasion, which to put in simple terms, simply giving the person’s head, a quick but non lethal, ‘tap’.
What caught Zhang Wei off guard was that even though Asyraaf seemed frightened and was trembling, his eyes did not show even a hint of regret. His eyes looked resolute, and Zhang Wei thought of something.
“I’ll give you chance to give me a reason to not silence you.”, before he proceed with the ‘tap’ method, he would see what sort of person this Asyraaf is. Seeing that Zhang Wei was possibly going to spare him, Asyraaf thought of what to say, Should I beg for mercy or should I take a risky bet? … risky bet it is. After thinking it through, Zhang Wei would likely frown if he were to bow down and beg for mercy. He decided to take the riskiest gamble of his life, “Oh great Sir Zhang Wei, this lowly person does not dare question great Sir’s decisions. However, this lowly person is humble, virtuous and extremely noble. My great qualities are gifts that the great heavens have sent and are only overshadowed by my great kindness. So if Sir is willing, please spare my life so that the world would not miss out on my amazing virtues. The world will surely thank Sir Zhang.”, Asyraaf said this with a sincere smile on his face. His plan was simple, convince Zhang Wei that he was a noble person, surely Zhang Wei would be captivated by him.

Zhang Wei looked at this idiot with disdain. How could there exist a person so out of touch with reality, does he think that he is a saint that the world treasures? How thick is this guy’s skin? I have never met a person so shameless that they would call themselves humble and virtuous. Should I just kill him? I’m sure I would do this world a favor if I dispose of this thick skinned bastard.
It was amazing how similar Zhang Wei and Asyraaf were. So much so that Author’s excited voice rang. “Having sensed that this Asyraaf’s self conceited personality matched well with his, Zhang Wei not only decided to not forcibly silence Asyraaf, but made him his first valuable ally and companion.”
Zhang Wei almost coughed blood. Why in the hell would I make this fool my important ally? Do you think I am that insane?, despite his utter disdain at the fact that he had to spare this fool, he actually respected the fact that Asyraaf was very true to himself … Wait a minute? Did I actually thought that I respected him?! Am I turning into a fool as well?!
It seems that the Author could force Zhang Wei to adopt a certain mindset as he pleases. However, it could not fully affect Zhang Wei due to him being self aware of his situation. He made a mental note to himself to stay vigilant.
Since the Author had spoken, Zhang Wei must oblige, he raised his head and looked at Asyraaf, with a warm expression, “Well said, you have made this Humble Man impressed with your very noble self. This Humble Man wonders if you would provide assistance to this Humble Man’s cause.” , Zhang Wei almost puked when he said those words. He then started to spew bullsh*t continuously from his mouth. From making an excuse for stealing lollipops to his intention to infiltrate the academy.
Asyraaf listened closely to what Zhang Wei said and nodded, “So it’s like that. I knew that Sir Zhang is a virtuous person, so there had to be a good reason. Regarding Sir’s cause, this lowly noble person would gladly help Sir Zhang accomplish his mission. Yeah right! Like I believe a single word that you have just said. You expect me to believe that the reason that you stole lollipops from kids was for a justifiable cause? HMM … you smell that? It smells like bullsh*t. Although he Asyraaf knew it was all farce, he did not exactly have a choice here.
Although he was not sincere in his offer of assistance, he wholeheartedly believed that since he had promised something, he would definitely deliver.
Zhang Wei smiled and said, “Good, now tell me how do I enroll in the academy?”
