Just as Kadin entered the tunnel he heard an ungodly screech from behind him. Knowing that he would be getting pursued and quite probably by beings faster than him, he pulled in magical power from the air around him, using his mind to focus and create for want of a better word a spear, when it was as hard and as powerful as he could make it he pushed it was all his strength above him, he felt the spear pierce the tunnel roof as it rumbled and cracked. He then poured all the energy into the tip of the spear infusing it with fire and air, it would only give him a few seconds before it came to a critical point and explode outwards. So as he charged on, he tried to brace and be ready, then he felt the blast catch him and push him forwards, he luckily kept his balance and continued running when he felt the ground begin to rumble and shake. Then the deafening roar as the cavern began to collapse. He pushed forwards with all his strength willing himself to run faster, as he heard the collapsing roof just behind him. He started to pass the wall decorations and murals that would collapse as he sped by, he then saw that the cave in was beginning to overtake him, above his head he could see a crack spreading along the roof of the cave, see chunks or rock begin to fall. He didn’t focus on it though instead he pushed on, after a few seconds the split stopped and the edges of the walls began to fall inwards, he pushed himself on just passed by. When after a few seconds the roar of a cave collapsing behind him slightly dimmed and muted, he was tempted to look back but kept powering forwards for a few more second until he was sure, at which point he chanced a look behind him, where he just saw rubble and dust, dimly lit edges in the darkness, slowing down enough to pull a soul stone from his cloak he put power into it and used its light to give him more of a view forwards, he slowed to a steady jog as the land started to slope downwards. Kadin could still feel slight vibrations and shakes in the ground, but the deafening crash of a cave in right behind him gone, and he had a few second to think on and reflect on; one – what happened and two – what to do now. He hoped the cave in may have collapsed the cavern and blocked off the portal – but he didn’t really believe it. Next he thought how awful his luck was that he took a simple missing child case … yet ending up helping a madman open a portal to hell.
