“Who are you?” Jacob asked as he pushed his wife behind him for protection. He felt a sense of confusion and fear, not knowing who this elf-man was or what he wanted from them.
The elf man's response only added to Jacob's confusion. "I know this is hard to accept, but I'm your son, Asher."
Jacob almost burst out laughing at how ridiculous the situation was. "And how do you plan on proving that?" he asked.
“I can prove it, don’t you worry about that,” The Elf said.
“How?” Curious, Zilpah raised a question. She pushed past Jacob despite his attempts to keep her behind him.
Asher responded, "Well, do you remember Faye, my oh-so imaginary childhood friend? She's not quite as fantastical as you might have thought. Faye if you will," he said as he poured steaming tea into a new cup.
Suddenly, an ethereal young woman manifested opposite him.
"I'd like you to meet her," Asher said.
She didn't say a word.
“We aren't really close, but she has been sharing my adventures and has occasionally been helpful,” he added.
"And what are you doing here?" Jacob asked with a low temper.
"A last visit to my parents," Asher said casually.
"What do you mean?" Both of them asked him.
"Oh, you know, I just have an overwhelming feeling of dread that something in the near future is really going to be horrible."

They were perplexed, and he was too because he had been experiencing this odd sensation in his stomach since not too long ago.
He immediately knew that he had to go and visit his parents at least once before the 'bad' thing was supposed to happen.
"Just sit down. She doesn't bite, and neither do I," he invited them to sit.
They settled down together as they sat but still continued to doubt the elf.
As Jacob and Zilpah listened to Asher's explanation, they couldn't help but feel a sense of disbelief. They had known Asher, their own son, for eighteen years, but what he was saying was beyond anything they had ever heard before.
Asher, however, seemed earnest in his intentions, and his words were filled with a sense of sincerity that was hard to ignore.
"It's not like lying to you would benefit me in any way, right?" he began, his tone serious. "You're just farmers. Not that I don't care about you guys. You raised me for years and years, after all. Up until that time, that was the longest I had ever lived. Well- that’s something a parent kind of owns their child."
Jacob and Zilpah exchanged a look, unsure of what to make of Asher's words, but he wasn't finished yet. He went on to explain why he had been acting especially strange ever since he turned eight years old. It was at that age that he had discovered his unique skill, which was special in ways that took him ten years to fully comprehend.
"Why do you guys think I left when I was eighteen?" Asher asked. "I left and then became an absolute unit when it came to power. You must have heard the news of weirdly powerful people doing all manner of things around the world with my name, right? Why do you think they all shared the same name? Because it was me, all in different forms, thanks to Faye here," he continued. "At first, against my will and somewhat at random, I changed appearance. But since I met a certain elf, Rike's his name, King of a country called Chauk, I stayed a high elf. It was nice to be one person for so long again, but I missed you guys. That's why I'm here, not just that, but I wanted to tell you guys about everything. And I really mean everything before everything else turns to shit."
Then he told them about everything, just as he meant it.
Jacob and Zilpah were now completely engrossed in Asher's story. They listened intently as he went on to share his adventures, including his previous world, death, the gods, and the goddess Alexandra. Despite their initial doubts, they couldn't help but believe that Asher was telling the truth. Because of his earnestness and conviction, it was difficult to disregard what he said.
After all had been revealed, one comment remained.
"I think I'm having a heart attack," Jacob murmured, digging his fingers into his chest.
