The Reef, a place of wonders and beauties. A place where a tribe of beings live in relative harmony to one another. You'd think nothing would happen in this area, right? As screaming is heard in the background, the Queen of this race decides to do something despicable. To create one of her own, using a human as a test subject. This race of people are called The Awoken.
Two doors open up and a woman can be seen in handcuffs. She has black hair, brown eyes and a slim build. She has been recently caught by the Awoken after she had been sent on a mission to explore the area. The Awoken are very territorial so they don't let anyone travel beyond the outer gates. As the Awoken Fleet brings the woman to the Queen, the Queen wonders how she got lost in the first place.
"My oh my, look what we have here," The Queen says in a calm voice. "Someone got lost?"
The woman stares daggers in the Queen's eyes. The Queen looks back at her with shame in her eyes.
"Seems like Zavala forgot to tell me a few things," The Queen says disappointed. "It's a shame that they let someone just go to our territory without notification."
"I..."
"Oh, you have a voice!" The Queen says shocked. "I thought you were mute for a second there."
"I was exiled," the woman says with her head down. "Earth didn't want me anymore, that's why he didn't notify you."
The Queen smiles and starts to laugh. She has come up with a brilliant idea but she wasn't sure she should go through with it. Now that she knows that this woman has been exiled, she can carry out her plans with no regard for ethics.
Before she commands her army to send her to a chamber, she inspects the woman. As she inspects the woman, a ghost pops up. This ghost is different from all of the other ghosts, it is shaped like The Traveler itself. She looks at the ghost with interest and amusement.
"Tell me little ghost," The Queen says. "What is your name?"
"Siva," the ghost says. "My name is Siva, and her name is Arita."
"Alright Siva, your buddy here will be a big part of this experiment I'm going to run."
"Don't tell me,"
"Ah so you've already caught on it seems," The Queen says while chuckling. "She will be the first artificial Awoken in the Awoken Fleet!"
As Arita hears this, she tries to break free from the chains. Someone from the fleet knocks her unconscious.
"No! Stop this Mara! Don't do this!" Siva pleads. "She hasn't done anything wrong, she is innocent!"
"She has been exiled to here, so obviously there's another thing that Zavala didn't tell you."
As the Fleet takes Arita away, all Siva can do is plead for Mara to not go through with it. He couldn't do anything to stop her. After all, she could crush him with no remorse.
Arita wakes up in a chamber, chained up. The scientist behind this job looks depressed, she didn't want to do this job. She didn't want to do this anymore, but here she is, working for 25,000 Glimmer.
"Seems like you're new here," the scientist says.
"Who are you," Arita says.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
"My name is Saber, The Mad Scientist of the Cosmos," the scientist says. "I know it's a stupid and exaggerated name but I tried to turn people into Awoken."
"I guess she wasn't kidding then," Arita says, sighing. "It's a ridiculous idea that probably will fail."
"She is smart though, an exiled guardian like you can actually be the missing piece that could actually make this work," Saber says.
"So why are you here then?"
"I was the only successful experiment in the last 40 years," Saber says. "My ghost here revived me from the pain and torture of the race change." A ghost pops up beside her. "Ain't that right, Tracer?"
"Yeah, it was shocking seeing the guardian I went on adventures with suddenly turn into an Awoken just like that," Tracer says. "Luckily for me she turned out to be the same ol' Saber, and she actually retained her memories after I revived her."
"Well that's good, at least this experiment can keep all my memories," Arita says. She lays down as Saber prepares the anesthesia, the scientist has hot pink hair that is tied to the left in a bun. Her eyes were pink and her skin was a shade of blue. She was dressed like a typical Warlock would be dressed.
Before she puts the anesthesia on Arita, Saber mumbles something.
"It's refreshing y'know," she says, shaking her head. "I was exiled too, and sent to this exact place."
"Well, after this we could break out of this joint," Arita says confidently.
"Just don't let Mara's mind control get to you."
"I won't," Arita says as the anesthesia kicks in. As Arita is unconscious, Saber gets to work. It is working pretty flawlessly as Arita's tan skin turns purple and her black hair turns white. But something malfunctions, as Saber looks at the hologram she sees that the Awoken are getting invaded by Hive. Saber rushes to get the job done and she is successful. As soon as the anesthesia wears off, the walls of the chamber blast open. Arita wakes up instantly and pulls out a bow cloaked in void energy. She draws an arrow and shoots it straight into the Hive Knight's skull. The knight disintegrates into a void sizzle. Saber grabs Arita's hand and they run out.
As they run out, Siva sees Arita in a new state and gets scared. He didn't notice the acolyte aimed right at him. Before he could even react, Arita jumps in and shields him from the attack. The ghost is shocked and wonders if Arita even remembers him, but Arita reassures him that she is alright. As Saber and Arita looks at the gates, they see a ship heading right towards them. The one leading the ship has black wings and a deformed Hive Knight body, and a sword. This leader shouted his name for everyone else to hear.
"I am Oryx, The Taken King," he says. "And I will take over the Reef if it's the last thing my living body does.
Mara Sov looks at Oryx's ship and smirks.
"It seems he hasn't acquired the true power of the Darkness yet," Mara says looking at her subordinate.
"What do we do Mara?" Her subordinate asks frantically. "His army is trying to invade us!"
Mara points to Arita and Saber fighting waves of Hive on their own. "Look at them, they are fighting them all off."
As the subordinate looks in awe, Mara gets up and showcases her power. Her eyes turn bright white as Hive knights start to disintegrate from the gateway. As she does this, she establishes communication with Saber and Arita through their ghosts.
"Can you hear me?" Mara asks calmly.
"Yeah we can hear you," Siva says. "What's up?"
"I want you two to go up to Oryx's ship."
"You want us to do what now?" Arita asks in shock as another Hive goes down to her Spectral Blades.
"She wants you two to go on a suicide mission," Tracer sighs.
"Ah screw it, it's better than running experiments for 25,000 Glimmer," Saber says as more Hive disintegrate to her Dawnblade.
"Alrighty then, sucks to suck!" Arita says as she propells herself to the ship.
"Why in the hell did she just-" Saber scoffs as she does the same thing.
"Arita and Saber look at Oryx's face as he laughs.
"Since you have the guts to face me now, I'll spare you," Oryx says. "Next time, I'll make sure I master this power before I make hasty decisions."
Oryx raises his hand and points it at the two. "I'll leave you with this as a parting gift," he says. Before they could react he sends them both flying back to the gateway where they came from. Oryx looks back at them as the Darkness power slowly simmers into them. They'll know soon enough what all of this means. For now, The Sword Logic must be mastered.
Mara Sov looks at the two and smiles. "So the experiment was a success," she says with a sigh of relief.
"Yeah it was," Saber says, exhausted.
"Well I know what to do now, I'll send you both back to Earth."
Arita and Saber sigh in relief, knowing that this exile is finally over. But they know they can't go back to the Tower, they have to find their own way. As they board the ship back to the ship, they sleep for the first time in a couple of days. They wake up to aircrafts shooting the ship down, they instantly run to the escape pods. As the escape pods shoot out of the ship, Arita and Saber prepare for the worst as the pods crash down into Old Russia.
