"Guardian, do you hear me?" a voice is heard on the communication line in Arita's apartment. Arita wakes up 30 minutes before her alarm every day. She picks up her phone and calls Zavala to return the call.

"I'm sorry about that Zavala, I just woke up a minute ago," Arita yawns. "Anyway, what's up?"

"The Exo Stranger wants to speak to you," he scolds. "She sees that you and Saber have the potential in destroying the black heart."

Saber wakes soon after Arita and Zavala have started the call. Saber stretches and gets up to brush her teeth. As Saber finishes, she overhears the conversation that they are having."

"So, where are we headed to now?" Saber asked, yawning.

"Venus, apparently," Arita says wiping her eyes. "Brodie woke me up super early to tell me that."

Saber stretches and takes her robe out of the laundry. She changes into her work clothes and gets ready to go to Zavala.

"Welp, shall we get going?" Saber asked. "I don't want to hear Zavala's mouth that we are late."

"Yeah, let's get going," Arita said as she starts up her sparrow.

As they arrive in the Tower, the Exo Stranger walks in to talk to Zavala. She is worried about the Vanguard's decision on the matter. She hasn't spoken to Zavala much about it, she has spoken to Ikora and Cayde-6 and they are on board with it. Zavala has always been too cautious when it came to sending out guardians to deal with the Darkness. It doesn't help that it is something that could put humanity back to another Dark Age.

"Well, look who it is, speak of the devil," she said. "It's the guardians I've been looking for, how are you today?"

"Tired as fuck." Arita yawned. "Waking up to a phone call before I could even workout is toxic, not going to lie."

"You spitting nothing but facts there," Saber says as she stretches. "It doesn't help that I didn't eat anything either."

The Exo Stranger chuckles. Their mission is to go on Venus and investigate a robot species known as the Vex. The Vex is a robot mind that serves the Darkness and will create any weapon to defeat its opponents. As Arita and Saber enter Venus, everything seems off. At first, it looks to be that Venus has become a wasteland, far past the glory days of the Golden Age.

"So, what are we looking for here?" Saber asks.

"Some black heart, I guess," Arita said. "It's supposed to be around here somewhere."

As the duo explores Venus, Cabal is fighting Vex. Those two races have always been fighting for power over that section of Venus.

"Well, here we are," Arita said. "Elsie, we're here."

"Alright, you have to kill all of those Vex," Elsie said.

"Wait, we have to kill all those damn Vex?" Saber asked shocked. "The fuck is that going to do?"

"Get the Gatekeep angry obviously." Elsie chuckles. "You never played MMORPGs before, Saber?"

Saber sighs as they enter the area. There are 6 plates around a crater-like space. There seems to be something blocking the gateway to the rest of the area. They each decided to get three plates and fight off the enemies that spawn as they get on the plate. Saber looks tired fighting off the enemies so Arita tosses her an energy drink.

"That'll help us out in this a lot," Arita shouts to Saber.

"Thank you!" Saber shouts back. With their combined strength the enemies couldn't do much to stop the plates from opening the gate. The gatekeeper is summoned as Arita and Saber start to celebrate. They both sigh as they both take out their frustration with the task on the Gatekeeper. The Gatekeeper explodes as the gateway opens.

"Um, are you sure this is the right location?" Saber asks. "Isn't it supposed to have more of a shrine-like opening?"

"Yeah, this seems more of a vault opening than anything else, I don't think Elsie would send us the wrong location," Arita said confused. "Elsie, is this the right place?"

"Yeah, this is the Vault of Glass." She spoke. "I wanted you two to explore a bit of this place before we go take down the Black Heart."

A navy-blue light surrounds the land as they enter the vault. Cold enough to freeze the warmest hearts. They travel around for an hour; its sadness runs deep into its soul until they finally find another area.

"So, you finally made it, Arita." A voice says. Connections have been restored. "This is the Vault of Glass, huh, looks nice."

"This place makes me wanna kill myself to be completely honest with you." Saber said holding back tears.

"The place is cool, yeah," Arita yawns. "But this place's atmosphere is shit." "I know we are here for a relic or something but c'mon, at least make it less depressing."

As the duo goes to the area, a Vex mind comes out. The Templar is one of the guardians of the Vault of Glass. Arita and Saber look in fear as a mass amount of Vex begins to surround them.

Arita starts to run and asks Elsie for help. Laughter is heard from the other side as more Vex spawn.

"You know what Elsie, fuck you!" Arita shouts. "I'm gonna do this my way!"

Arita screamed as she released 3 barrages of solar blades in continual motion. Saber goes to the Templar itself and picks up a shield. She screams as the protective coat that was around the Templar shattered off.

"The shield is down!" Arita hears Saber shout. As that is said, her bow is summoned to her. Saber summons a Nova Bomb while Arita releases an arrow cloaked in the power of the void. This combined attack destroyed The Templar. As it explodes, a chest appears full of loot. Arita and Saber instantly sprint to the chest. The chest contained two Hand Cannons. Both of them are coated with a clean silver plating with multiple accessories with it as well. The weapon's name is Fatebringer. Its specialty is that it has explosive bullets in its magazine.

"Are you guys okay?" Elsie asks. "You guys sound like you were struggling for a while."

Arita falls to the floor, gasping for air. "Fuck, Elsie. You didn't tell us that was a fucking Vex mind down there."

"At least you got the relic, that's all that matters."

Saber walks forward toward the corridor. Arita facepalms as she catches up with Saber.

"Where are you going?" Arita asks concerned. Saber ignores her question and heads for the corridor. Arita tries to get her attention but notices that Saber's eyes are blank. An expressionless Saber goes towards the final room of the Vault of Glass. There stands the Lord of Time, Atheon. Saber stands as he appears. She gets back to her senses as Arita is running with her in her arms.

"Arita?" she whispers.

"Trying to stay alive right now, what's up?" Arita grunts.

Before Saber can say what wants to say, Arita gets teleported away into another place. She looks around to see the same shield Saber used against the Templar. She takes the shield and strikes down the group of enemies in an instant. Three things can be seen in front of her but she doesn't know what it means.

"Shoot them in this order." She hears Saber's voice. "Right, Middle and Left."

Arita takes out three knives and chucks them at the weird objects in the order Saber said. This is done two more times as she is cleared to exit the strange place she's in. Arita blindly runs out of the place and tries to shield herself from attacks. She thinks she is in the clear until a beam comes at her at the speed of light. She's able to shield herself in time but she couldn't get up. Saber looks in horror as Arita struggles to get up.

"Don't... worry about me," Arita mutters, coughing up blood. "Defeat that time controlling shit."

Saber walks up to Atheon, the burning sword of dawn in her hand, and starts her attack. Multiple attempts at stopping her time fail as Saber tries to find an opening. As Saber flies around Atheon, Atheon found a way to trap her in time and finally stop them from defeating him. Before Saber could dodge away, Arita pushes her out of the way and gets stopped in time by Atheon. Saber reacts quickly and throws a blade at her, breaking her out of the bind. She finally finds the opening she is looking for as she prepares for her final attack. The Dawnblade pierces Atheon's neck as the opening has been revealed. All of her strength, all of her ambition into this final attack. As Atheon falls a beam of light is summoned as Saber finishes off Atheon. Arita uses Shadowshot and the arrow goes through Atheon's core, allowing Saber to decapitate the Lord of Time's head in a Well of Radiance.
