“What is the price senior?” “For you junior...it just a measly 3000 contribution points.” “Bye senior.” Fang Hao said as he started leaving as the inner disciple blocked his path and started attempting to convince that why it was such a bargain. Fang Hao then started bargaining and even inquired about the other standard magic tools and considered buying one of them. Finally the senior inner disciple gave up and said. “2200 contribution points junior. And not a single point less. This just breaks even for me.”
“Since senior is insisting, Junior will buy it.” Fang Hao then transferred almost all of his remaining contribution points to the shop and gained ownership of that defensive magic tool. He bit his forefinger and bound it with blood then and there before wearing in on his left hand. He didn't have to sell his low grade spirit stone, but was left with less than a 100 contribution points. While this was a good defensive magic tool...it was only of use in the Qi Condensation stage. But still, it was one of the best magic tools satisfying his requirements.
Once he reached his dwelling, he activated the armadillo leather glove and a membrane appeared over his skin. He observed his right hand and noticed that there was a honey combed shaped pattern over his skin, not unlike the one on his glove. Looking closely, the pattern was shimmering in an almost unnoticeable manner. 'Wait a minute...is the barrier supposed to shimmer like that Or is it the effect of (+) of my Aura Fist manual? The seller said that my own Qi could be used to recharge this tool. Let me try to use my Qi and notice the reaction.'
With the membrane barrier active, Fang Hao poured some of his Qi into the magic tool and the shimmering got a bit more intense. 'So the glove is reacting to my Qi. That's unexpected, but not very useful in the grand scheme of things if the output of the glove is only useful for the Qi Condensation stage. I wonder how much Qi this glove needs to be recharged?' In the name of curiosity and knowledge, Fang Hao retrieved his iron club and smashed his left shoulder with all the force he could muster.
The membrane barrier shimmered, rippling from the point of contact as what looked like waves disappeared leaving Fang Hao completely unaffected. It took more than 30 full strength smashes for the membrane barrier to disappear. Fang Hao then poured his Qi as fast as possible into the glove as it easily absorbed it. It wasn't long before all of his Qi was depleted. 'I need to see how much Qi it takes to recharge this armadillo glove.' thought Fang Hao as he retried a wine jug from his storage pouch and drank a few mouthfuls. Again the glove drained his Qi. When re filled his Qi the second time, and was recharging the glove the third time; half of his qi was depleted and the glove was fully recharged.

'So it looks like ti takes around 100 points of Qi to fully recharge the glove or roughly 2.5 times my maximum Qi. I guess that I can pop a Qi condensing pill or two and rapidly refill the glove in case of an emergency, so that is good. With this, my defense is pretty solid for a Qi Condensation Disciple. Though this purchase turned me into a beggar. As soon as I train the Frost Chains spell to Expert, I will be ready for xp grinding at the Arena!'
It took Fang Hao almost 2 more months to finally train the Frost Chains Spell to the Expert Tier. While he was practicing the Frost Chains spell, he would also drain the armadillo glove's membrane barrier and refill it with his Qi at least once a day. With each refill, the shimmering of the membrane barrier became more apparent. 'I guess feeding the glove my Qi is somehow synchronizing it more with me? At least it works as advertised. Today I will catch at least one of those shitty goats without relying on magic tools.' Fang Hao decided as he prepared for his butchering chore.
Fang Hao reached the goat farm, and tried his best to stealthily approach a goat. He had ensured that the wind was blowing towards him, so that the goat wouldn't get a warning when his scent was carried along with the wind towards it. He was around 15 meters away from the goat, who was eating some kind of shrub, when it suddenly stopped and cocked its head. 'These goats have sharp instincts. Damn these fuckers' thought Fang Hao as he paused his advance and tried to blend the best he could with the surrounding shrubbery staying completely still.
Many animals had a better dynamic vision that static vision. They could notice movements much easier than something still. Especially since many of those animals were colorblind and had vision worse than that of humans. Fang Hao was hoping that it was the case with the tri horned spirit goat too. After a few breaths, the goat returned to its grazing. Since the goat was well within range and had relaxed is guard, Fang Hao started casting the Frost Chains spell. He whispered the chants as silently as he could and made the appropriate hand seals.
In around half a second, multiple ice blue rippling chains materialized around the goat and bound it. Fang Hao then activated Aura Infusion to the max and a silvery halo coated him. Feeling the increased strength of his fleshly Body, Fang Hao retrieved his iron club from his storage pouch and lunged towards the bound goat. He smashed the goat's head with his iron club and actually caused the innocent goat's skull to shatter, killing it instantly. Fang Hao then released the contemplation image of the frost chains from his mind causing the spell to dissipate as he stored the goat carcass in his storage pouch.
'That went better than expected. I think I can catch one more goat and then butcher both of them for extra offal and contribution points! And the 80ish xp helps too.' thought Fang Hao as he wiped the club on some nearby leaves, and scrubbed it with mud to remove any scent of blood. He masked the aroma of the blood and brain splashes on his robe the same way.
