The manager then assigned an inner disciple to show Fang Hao to the dwellings for inner disciples and the dining hall. That inner disciple was very polite and courteous to Fang Hao despite being his senior and answered his every query about inner disciples. In general other than the mission/assignment requirements and the rewards of contribution points, life was very similar to like in the outer disciple. Although the inner disciple thought that Fatty's questions were a bit retarded, he didn't dare to be rude to someone whom a Great Elder had personally escorted.
'So his most concerning query was about how many meals, where and when he can eat them? I don't even...' The inner disciple then probingly inquired to Fang Hao, “Right junior, you must be aiming to specialize in body refining since Elder Shi has taken an interest in you. I myself hope to be a spirit-smith forging various magic tools and treasures!' Fang Hao was immediately cautious when the inner disciple probed into his cultivation. Fang Hao dismissively waved his hands as he said, “Meh. I just practice some body cultivation on the side. I am already a disciple of Master Zhu.”
The inner disciple pondered for a bit and then probed cautiously. “Hmm. I am not aware of any Great Elder or Elder with the name of Zhu. Could Junior enlighten me about the identity of your Master?” “I am not sure, really. My master was the manager of the Outer Disciple Assignment Hall where I used to cultivate previously.” The inner disciple's heart was in turmoil as he tried to lightly deflect the focus of the folly of this fatty as he said, “Junior must surely be having profound reasons for accepting an Outer Hall Manager as his master.” Fang Hao had a somewhat blank look on his face as he said, “No, not really. It is just that my master's generosity is beyond compare and he gives me a jug of wine free every week. I don't even have to do anything to obtain it!”
The inner disciple was barely suppressing his rage at Fatty Hao's casual answer. 'Such a wastrel being shown favor by a Great Elder is injustice. But then again, the heavens are blind...' Meanwhile Fang Hao was sneering in his mind 'Yes yes, think of me as a gluttonous idiot! Well I am gluttonous, but I am not a complete idiot. The spirit wine I get from Master Zhu is definitely something special. Using it helps me to have my body-cultivation speed keep on par with my xp-farming Qi cultivation. And from what little I know of body cultivation, the better a body cultivation manual's quality...the more resources it requires to cultivate unless the body cultivating scripture has some sort of glaring flaw. While Divine Vajra Body Scripture may not be the best body scripture under the heavens...it is still pretty good considering the attention great elder Shi is giving me. Or I am screwed and the Divine Vajra Body Scripture has some great hidden flaw and Master Zhu is just what he appears to be.'

Fang Hao reached a region where there courtyards the side of two football fields with a one story cottage in the center. Near the gates of the cottages, there were banners fluttering on small flag posts. Some where white, while some where green and some red. Here Fang Hao was explained that white banners were residences available for selection, while green banners meant residents were available and red banners meant that the residents were either unavailable or in seclusion. To claim a residence he had to touch his identity medallion to a white banner. The inner disciple then excused himself and went on his way.
Fang Hao claimed a random residence and he could now control certain features of the residence through his identity medallion. He could change the color of the flag freely between green and red. He could also exert a basic amount of control over the barrier formation protecting his residence. He could also turn the barrier into something like a one-way screen so that other disciples from outside could only see a tranquil yard while he could observe their every move. He then inspected the field and the cottage. Surprisingly, other than being larger and with a slightly denser amount of Qi, the field surrounding his cottage wasn't too different from the one from his outer disciple days.
The cottage on the other hand was larger, spacious, had an additional room and furniture compared to the outer disciple cottage he was staying in. One of the rooms was a guest room with a small rectangular table and what looked like a few couches. Another room was his bedroom, with a bed, a desk and a chair. The other two rooms were the bathroom and seclusion room. 'A decent upgrade, but nothing grand. The most useful feature is turning the barrier into a one way screen. That alone will avoid a lot of potential embarrassing incidents.'
Fang Hao then checked his status screen. He was surprised to see that his skill points had increased by 1 to 31 and also gained a bit of xp! he had also learned “Flame Snake (Basic)” under the spells and techniques tab. 'Good Good. At least I have a way of squeezing some extra skill points and leveling. I think I should quickly learn wind blade and Qi barrier so that I can make half decent use of the magic tools given to me. That will also earn me a couple of skill points. In theory even if I don't have stuff to skill I can slowly learn and practice spells to level-up but its so damn slow. A measly 100 xp for learning a new spell at basic level? That is quite shitty and it would take forever to level up using spells alone.'
Fang Hao then spent the next few days learning the Wind Blade spell and the Qi Barrier spell while also trying to use the Magic tools. When he compared the wind blade spell he cast himself and using the wooden sword to unleash wind blade. He found that the magic tool produced a significantly larger blade while consuming a little less Qi. It also saved quite a bit of cast time. The Wind blade spell took him roughly 2 to 3 seconds to cast just after learning it, whereas all he needed to do while using the magic tool was to make a slashing motion while pouring his Qi.
