So get this. Remember that little skill about me being impervious to mental trauma if I ever killed someone? Apparently, trauma from childbirth is just as bad as that, so I’ve been fixed.
Bam!
“Ah, there he is! To think my first son could be such a prodigy!! The heavens are indeed fair and just!!”
The hyperactive black-haired man who just burst through the door into my room is supposedly my father.
Apparently, I may have done something that drew a lot of attention, and now I’m being called heaven’s child or divine son. I would have preferred if I was the son of someone poor and shocked others with my talent as I grew up, but this isn’t too bad.
Oh, and about what I did…
“To be able to instinctively draw in the spiritual energy of the surroundings and then to break through to the first rank of the Qi Gathering Stage! Oh, my son, your future potential is limitless!! Even now I can see the spiritual energy gathering into your body!! Incredible!!”
Instinctively your face, old man. This is called work. Now, I don’t know why he had to lift me up as he’s saying this, but I’m not going to stop cultivating, hence the spiritual energy rushing into my body.
So in this world, there are stages of cultivation realms that we must work through. The first is the Qi Gathering Realm, of which there are ten stages referred to as vessels. Ergo, I’m now a 1st Vessel Qi Gatherer, currently at the 1 Vessel Qi Gathering Stage.
After that realm, we’ll be in the Tan’tien Saturation realm, and as for the others, we’ll get to those when we get to them.
“Honey! Put him down already! You come in here every hour and hold him up talking about how the heavens are just, and look at that you scratched him!”
At that moment, this big oaf finally landed me back in my crib. The woman who just reigned in said oaf was the woman who went through the 18 realms of hell to give birth to me.
Her name is Long Nǚhuáng, the big oaf who happened to be my father is called Long Huangdì.
At the moment she was being supported by a maid, it seems the childbirth left her feeling a bit weak.
Still, with her being a cultivator and all, she’ll get better soon. I mean, it’s only been a day since… the happening. That’s already cultivation-level healing right there.
As I lay on my back, I stared at the two of them as they stared back at me. Their eyes were brimming with power and… something else, something I didn’t understand or maybe forgot, but it felt… nice.
“I—I didn’t scratch him, truly! I don’t know how this happened!”
“Then how do you explain this line? Hm? There’s more?”
I’m guessing they are referring to the countless lines on my body. To be honest, I have no idea what they are either. Weirdly enough, they seem oddly familiar to me. Which is weird considering this is my first isekai situation, but hey, you take what you get.
“Hm. We’ll call the physician and see if he can figure out what these are, but it has to be someone we trust. Hahahaha! You will grow up to be one that challenges the heavens, my son! You will strive to become that which is but a myth, an immortal, and I just know that your name will be known throughout history!”
My father’s voice sounded like a fart, and not just any fart. I’m talking about the dangerous kind, the one where it’s possible that it wasn’t a fart to begin with.
Then again, I am biased. Male figures colour me distrustful. So sue me. Who knows, maybe he’ll grow on me… much like a brain tumour does.
“You would do best to listen to your mother, my son. You are set to do great things in the world. I hope that in the future you will have enough power to live peacefully and comfortably.”

My mother’s voice was soft and tender. It was as if it aimed to wrap around me gently, like silk.
“Roar!!”
A booming sound echoed all around. I could see how my father’s face twisted and contorted in rage while my mother’s countenance fell.
Suddenly, the entire air felt oppressive. I could feel it, but before it had a chance to get any stronger, my father released his own aura to counter it.
“Those monsters again!? Do they think this old man can no longer fight!?”
Based on the old man’s tone, it seems that this is not the first time something like this has happened.
“Husband, please!”
I could hear my mother’s desperate plea. It was almost frantic.
“You needn’t act strong in front of me, I know you have not yet been healed. I am begging you to at least recuperate fully.”
Her hand landed on his chest just before he was about to storm out in a frenzy.
“At least have the city lord’s guards protect the people. You of all people know how dangerous those beasts are. They are not something that we can finish off, these are perilous times!”
Seeing his changing expressions, it was easy to see that he was using his common sense to counter his emotions, a daunting task for him I’m sure.
However, against all odds, he quickly calmed himself and shook his head in agreement, though it was reluctant.
“It seems the Heavens care about equality. They granted me a son that is no less a blessing, but within the Dragon’s Domain something that is no less a calamity has spawned!”
Though he tried to hide it, I could see the anger bubbling under the surface. Anyway, I was way more into the fact that there were dragons here. And the old man was still alive after fighting one?
Did he really fight one?
Methinks I was wrong when I thought him to be useless, he seems to be a brawn-over-brains type of guy. Though I could be wrong, I mean you have to have some brains for the brawn to be over it, but that’s neither here nor there.
Suddenly, he turned his attention to me. What was this stinky old man thinking?
“My son, a calamity has entered our world, with peace being a thing of the past. Your father has suffered an injury that halted his cultivation for a while now. I know you can’t understand me, but you have a burden to bear. Our Long family has to contribute to protecting this city.”
… Well, just like that, the growing on me begins. What can I say? I am a simple man, er, baby, and a man that fights for his people is a good man I guess.
Still, I think that aside from cultivating and getting stronger, I’m going to need to learn the politics of this world and the current social standing along with the established countries, empires, kingdoms and provinces.
Thank that goddess for at least augmenting my memories. Godly photographic memories with the internet are awesome.
{Hmph, at least you know who to thank.}
‘Goddess, you’re here? Where are you?’
{I’m talking to you via telepathy. I’m trying to get to you, but your mother is really overprotective. I’m thinking of coming in like a maid or something, but she won’t let much of anyone come near you, though I can’t blame her. I guess.}
She had a point. My mother is pretty new to the whole mother thing, so she’ll be a little paranoid, I guess.
{Don’t think about it too much. I’m a goddess after all, so I’ll be there soon.}
‘Won’t it be weird that you won’t age as I grow?’
{Pfft, these people are cultivators. Their lifespans are longer than the ones of your world. No one will think anything weird if I remain young and beautiful for a couple of hundred years.}
‘Well, if it’s okay with you, it’s fine with me. By the way, since you’re going to be a thing now, what should I call you?’
{Wow! So you already forgot my name!? Don’t you have a supreme photographic memory!?}
‘I promised myself I would only use it for the important stuff.’
{You suck!}
‘I do admit that breastfeeding’s awesome, but that is far as I’m willing to go on that subject. I don’t kiss and tell.’
{Ew! Anyway, my name is Mina Tempesta!}
‘Wow, that’s unique…’
{I don’t like your tone.}
‘It sounds stolen.’
{It’s a name!}
‘Whatever. In any case, I have things to do, such as soil myself, since bladder control got really hard. Get to me soon, this’ll be your job then.’
{I have never loathed anyone or anything as much as I loathe you! You are as much as everything you are currently releasing!}
