Chapter 27 - Traitorous Elephant In The Room

Chapter 27 - Traitorous Elephant In The Room

“He looks so young!”

“H—He’s at the Core Flame Evocation realm!?”

“What’s up with his cauldrons? I’ve never seen that grade before. A—Are they special grade!?”

“I—I don’t think so. I mean, there is nothing particularly outstanding regarding his physique or anything that could garner that.”

“Then how do you explain that!?”

“The tattoo on my buttocks?”

“The child you idio… wait. You have a tattoo on your…?”

The surviving members from the Blood Crypt Sect were pointing and talking in hushed tones as they stared at Long Di in fear. The unknown was known to do that, instil fear.

The elders and the disciples stood there, wide-eyed, with mouths agape. This went against conventional thinking. He was at a cultivation level that the elders of most sects were at, and he was only eleven years old.

However, throughout all this, no one dared to speak loudly. After all, Xue Zi’s life was still in Long Di’s hands.

In addition, his expressionless demeanour made it known just how little he cared for the life he held. That was the feeling the two Four Star Core experts got when they saw Long Di. His poker face put considerable pressure on them regarding how to proceed.

At this time, they couldn’t help but wonder a little what such a peerless and heartless talent could be thinking at this exact moment.

[Inside Long Di’s mind]

‘I wonder if he’ll pee if I shock him a little?’

[Outside Long Di’s mind]

“What do you want?” One of the Four Star Core experts finally asked.

Long Di looked at the one who spoke then back at the person he held in his hands right after. He held on tightly to Xue ZI’s throat, not wanting him to speak. There was nothing more annoying than an audible, arrogant young master.

“Well, thank you for asking. That’s nice. However, to be honest, I would like to be left alone at the moment, if you don’t mind.”

Xue Zi’s guardians beamed a smile when they heard this, “Then you’ll let the young master—”

“Go? Yes.” Long Di finished asking and answered for them. “With his bladder still fully functional? I am just as curious as you are.”

Their expressions changed. “W—Wait, what do you m—”

Krsssh!

“Aahhhhhh!!!”

Xue Zi released a blood-curdling scream as grey-coloured lightning danced in arcs around his body.

As soon as his scream of pain reached a crescendo, his body went limp with the occasional spasm. Long Di looked around the crotch area and showed a somewhat disappointed expression when it turned up dry.

He then unceremoniously released Xue ZI’s body as it fell to the ground with a thud.

Did Long Di just kill the young master of the Blood Crypt Sect?

Even the elders and Uncle Tian Lu were shocked as they never thought he would be so decisive in acting. This would no doubt bring a disaster to the sect.

A heavy silence permeated the surroundings.

It was so quiet that a tumbleweed suddenly rolled across the burnt plains and under everyone’s eyes circled around Long Di and left.

Long Di’s stared at it as it left before asking. “Did anyone else see the—”

“Y—Y—You…” one of the Four Star Core Martial Masters pointed with a trembling finger, unable to even form a proper sentence.

“The tumbleweed, right?” Long Di interjected. “That’s what we’re going to focus on, right?”

“What tumbleweed, you hellspawn!?” The Four Star Core Master flew into a rage at Long Di’s indifference.

“The tumbleweed that just wait…” Long Di looked around with a blank expression before realisation dawned upon him. “Oh, you all think he’s dead.”

Long Di gave Xue Zi a couple of kicks in the stomach as if to desecrate the corpse of Xue Zi.

“Wait, did I actually kill him?” Long Di asked himself, as he gave a couple more kicks to confirm.

“You little animal! I’ll kill you!” The two Four Star Core martial masters were well and truly angered now, seeing Xue Zi’s still motionless body spurned them into action.

“Hold on a sec…” Long Di’s calm and indifferent voice came through as he put a bit more power into his kicks, paying no attention to the enemies charging toward him.

The contrast of supreme anger and extreme indifference created quite a comical scene.

“Ack! Ahh… Aaaaahhhhh!!!”

A cough followed by screams of pain stopped the two experts dead in their tracks. This was in the nick of time too, as their palm and claw respectively were inches away from striking Long Di as well.

“Now, I should explai—”

“Aaaahhh!!!”

“As I was trying to—”

“Aahhhhhh!”

“Hold on a sec.”

Bam!

“You!”

Seeing that he was unable to speak with all the screaming, Long Di landed another kick to the side of Xue Zi’s head, knocking him out. However, this drew another outburst of anger from his two guardians.

Never in their lives had they ever dealt with such an unreasonable person.

“I can tell that you would like to kill me. But before that, hear me out, please. First of all, he’s not going to die, however, there is something inside his body eating away at him even as we speak, so a prolonged delay of treatment may bring death, I guess.

“In addition, and pay attention to this part, you can fight me, and three other Core Flame Evocation realm cultivators and delay treatment, but if you do that then—”

Whoosh!

Before he could finish, the two Four Star Core experts took Xue Zi’s body and disappeared, not wasting a single second to save his life!

Seeing this, the remaining members of the Blood Crypt Sect didn’t dare to linger and took off in the direction of the two elders and their now inept young master.

When silence finally reigned once more, it was less intense and was instead suffused with disbelief.

However, when it finally sank in what happened, different emotions could be seen flashing across everyone’s faces.

“So did anyone else see the tu—”

“Do you know what you’ve done!?”

Before anyone could formulate a proper summary of the situation, a rage-filled accusatory tone was the first thing to come charging forth.

One of the elders, one with a head of white hair and a pair of eyes that flashed with a sharp brilliance, stared at Long Di with anger. Of course, this was none other than the third elder.

“I would like to think that I saved everyone here,” Long Di said,

The third elder scoffed at this. “Save everyone!? You’ve doomed everyone here! Do you know what type of enemy you’ve just provoked!? You could have very well crippled their young master!”

Seeing that he was bearing the brunt of the blame, Feng Yu couldn’t stand by and do nothing. “Esteemed third elder, I’m sure that he was simply trying—”

“Silence!” The third elder roared at her. “This is not the place for a child to interfere!”

She shrank back in embarrassment after being chastised. It was true, though; she had no real power to enact any change, and the only thing she and the other disciples could do was to be saved by everyone else.

“Uhm, I’m younger than her, so can I also be excused from this argument?” Long Di raised his hand as he asked. There was no sign of panic that could be seen.

“Trying to escape blame!? Hmph! Forget it! You’ll be coming with me to—”

“Hihihi… forget it. Why don’t we… hiccup… stop trying to play the blame game and go back to the sect?”

As evident by the slur in his voice, it was none other than Uncle Tian Lu who spoke. When the third elder saw who it was, his skin crawled in disgust at the old drunk.

“Why are you even here, you old shameless mortal dru—”

“Third elder silence!”

Dum!

The normally calm and indifferent second elder immediately reacted when he saw that the third elder was about to disrespect Uncle Tian Lu. His cultivation base exploded out to support his word.

Obviously, he was not going to tolerate any sort of insolence towards Uncle Tian Lu.

“Tch!” The third elder gnashed his teeth in anger, but he could not say anything. After all, his cultivation base was lower than that of the second elder.

This was the right that power granted you in the cultivation world. Your word could go uncontested as long as you had the power to back it up.

The second elder went to the side of the first elder, who was still pale and injured because of the move he executed earlier. Even now blood ran down his body in rivulets through the cracks that covered him.

He sighed with a complex expression. He carefully supported the first elder before his quiet gaze scanned everyone here. “We’re going back to the village. Everyone is to rest and await further orders.”

No one dared to disobey until a voice that lacked any feeling sounded out. “I don’t have any problem with that, but are we really going to ignore the traitorous elephant in the room?"

The third elder stiffened while the second elder looked back at Long Di with a dangerous glint in his eye. “Excuse me?”
