Chapter 41 Spring break... And anticlimactic reunion.

Amanda walked through the rain soaked streets alongside Arron. It was spring, the mid terms were re-done after that incident, they were questioned a little and they told the truth, about that strange woman and the succubus. School faculty launched an investigation not only to search for how the demons had even made it inside in the first place but also how that woman made it inside as well and who she was.

Amanda was enjoying her spring break, walking with an umbrella in case rain started falling again, Arron didn't like rainy days mostly because he hated being soaked with water when rain unexpectedly hit.

Amanda sighed as she sat down, "Let's take a break..."

Arron sat next to her leaning back against the bench, "What do you think about... That woman that saved us?" Arron asked on a whim.

Amanda thought back to the incident, remembering the orange haired lady with a top hat and a bow tie... Wait... Orange wavy hair... Bow tie, suit... white gloves... Amber eyes... Where did I hear that before...? Amanda sat up abruptly rubbing her chin in deep thought, her eyes widening by the second.

She knew! It was in Regina's diary! She had read that Regina met that woman after successfully escaping the castle and hiding in a bush in their garden!

"I know! Regina knows that woman!" Amanda concluded out loud.

"She does? I mean she did look like she knew her based on the way she reacted back then..." He rubbed his chin in deep thought.

"Yes! I remember there was a perfectly matching description in her diary!" She grimaced from the mention of her mistake.

"Oh, yeah you did read her diary didn't you? Haha!" He laughed.

Amanda buried her face into her palms in shame and guilt. She was still guilty about that...

"Anyways..." She coughed into her hand her cheeks still slightly red, "The fact that there is a matching description in her diary means that she knows that woman!"

"Yeah, but what if-" Arron was interrupted.

"Excuse me?" A feminine voice reverberated and Amanda looked up only to see... A teenage girl with some strange clothing for her age... She had blood red eyes and fluffy straight blonde hair, she had a short stature. A bowler hat rested gently on her head with a yellow stripe. Round glasses with a golden amber like hue when they reflected in what little sun light there was from the clouded sky. She had a black buttoned up coat and black pants to go with it. She leaned on a cane to support her upright. And the most intriguing part about her attire was... The two large red rubies sewn into her coat, one on the left and the other on the right side of the coat.

Two wire extended out from her pocket and into her ear which Amanda immediately recognized because she also had one that she didn't use all that much. It was a music player.

"I was wondering if you could... Show me around the school you know... You seem like students yourself and I had just arrived at the city a few hours ago, my companion went to take the entrance exam..." The girl smiled widely.

"New? Entrance exam? What's going on?" Amanda looked up at the girl in doubt, there is no way she would be allowed in, prism doesn't allow anyone to join after the entrance ceremony had started let alone in the middle of the term.

"Well, I have an invitation letter by the school..." She said fetching something from her pocket and handing over a letter with a red seal on it. Amanda's eyes widened, it was the academy seal that only her aunt possessed, the principal... It was a red seal with the insignia of the royal class to intersecting torches and a star on top.

"W-well... I guess I have time to show you around..." Amanda could not help but marvel at the girl in front of her, not only did she have a letter of invitation stamped by her aunt herself but she also arrived in the middle of the term. Prism accepting this girl only means one thing... She has a talent so incredible that prism just could not afford to refuse her...

"I'll see myself out." Arron said as he walked away sensing the situation could turn tiring.

Amanda cursed inwardly, Don't leave me here alone you bastard! Amanda gritted her teeth before sighing and putting on her best smile, "Well, let's go right ahead!" She started walking motioning for the girl to follow.

----------------------------------------

"That should be the last of it... You can explore the rest yourself, prism is pretty big academy haha!" Amanda joked and breathed heavily, the task of showing her around was really greuling, the girl could only walk and at a slow speed just to add to it. And worst of all Amanda could not complain because the girl literally was disabled and it would be heavy on Amanda's conscience to discriminate against her.

"Ah, thank you for being patient with me... It's just that this leg of mine doesn't work, I've been crippled my whole life. I was born with it. Thank you, and sorry..." The girl bowed slightly and Amanda's heart melted, the girl was younger than Amanda by three years... She was only 15 yet she was so polite... Amanda could definitely not complain now. She put her hand on the girl's shoulder.

"Hey! Don't apologize it's not your fault-" she said before she heard someone calling out to her.

"Oh~ How's it going princess~~" Regina giggled as she walked up to Amanda and froze.

"Oh! great! What do you-" Amanda stopped her retort abruptly when she saw Regina staring. Her eyes flickered between the two in confusion. Regina wasn't acting right, she simply stared at the younger girl with increasingly widening eyes just as the other girl did as well.

Amanda was a little confused here she felt like she was missing something just when she opened her mouth to say something the younger girl bowed her head as far as she could. Which wasn't that much as she still used a cane and could not bow too much else it would cause her to lose balance and fall.

"Greetings older sister." She said and Regina nodded her expression softening.

"So you made it out? You were the weird one right? The one I threw out of the window. What's your name I forgot it." Regina rubbed her chin in thought talking as if her words were totally natural to say as the younger girl pulled herself up to meet Regina's gaze.

To say Amanda was shocked would be an understatement, her eyes almost bulged out of their sockets as the pieces fell in place. The similarities between the two were undeniable. Blonde hair, even if the younger one's hair was straighter and was a lighter hue of blonde than Regina's. And the most obvious part are the two blood red eyes that looked just like Regina's... And her description she's heard it before, or rather, read it before in Regina's diary.

"You're sisters?!" Amanda cried out in exasperation. Her outburst earned her a few curious and weird glances from passersby.

"Oh let's just tell the whole world now!" Regina reprimanded her, rolling her eyes and Amanda realized her mistake so she quietened down but the shock was still there.

"My name is Rachel older sister, in case you had forgotten." Rachel bowed again out of respect this time not out of instinct.

"Ah~ yeah that was you!" Regina slammed her fist into the palm of her hand remembering Rachel's name, "You're the weird creepy kid that they said was 'bad luck'!" Regina pointed at Rachel who was stumped by her bluntness and smooth way of saying such words so naturally. From the previous interactions she had with Regina back when they were kids, Regina was not this type of person was she? She was quiet, reserved and always kept to herself. She would almost always be in her bedroom...

"Well, whatever. Why are you here?" Regina asked and this time the princess answered chiming in.

"Oh~ she's here because she got an invitation to join prism! She will be our classmate soon!" Amanda explained.

Regina whistled raising her eyebrows, clearly impressed, "Look at you go younger sister- hold on. How do you know she'll be in the royal class as well?" Regina asked her expression turning confused.

"Well, you see the thing is those who get invitations by prism themselves are eligible for the royal class as obviously prism never sends out any of those invitations." Amanda said with a smile.

"I see... So you want to go explore the city together little sister?" Regina turned back to Rachel who nodded with a soft smile.

"I would be delighted to join you." She giggled.

"Let's go then!" Regina said as she walked out with Rachel following along, "Slow down please..." She said barely able to keep up with her cane. Amanda shook her head and followed after them, knowing damn well Regina would not treat Rachel well because she was just that blunt of a person...

"So the succubus failed?" A deep manly voice resounded through the throne room, the demon king's purple eyes looking over his generals, "Who thought it to be a good idea to send such a low class demon?"

One of the generals raised a hand, "Well you see sir... We couldn't actually send a power demon because it would be detected by the sensors there so we had to send a weak one that can still finish the job... But it looks like someone had interfered..." A feminine voice resounded answering the demon king's inquiry.

Venkalith Zorander clenched his fists the hard steel of the throne bending and breaking under his angered grip. His eyes blazed his horns burning with a purple flame.

"Who dares to interfere with me?!" The demon king roared out shaking the entire nether plains with his fury alone, the only demon standing unaffected was the first demon general Seskel, "You, do you know who it is that did it?"

The general being pointed out being the one who answered him, she was the queen of succubus an archdemon of the mind, "I-I-Yes sir! I know who it is! That succubus was connected to me... I could show you what she saw last before she died..." She quivered under his gaze.

Venkalith's wrath subsided slightly as he raised his hand, "Show me." He said simply and leaned forward waiting for the succubus progenitor to do as she said.

The succubus gulped and raised her hands to the air her hands glowed in a dark pink light creating a pinkish screen like display with her mana displaying her memories to her king.

Venkalith watched the mana made screen displaying the last moments of the succubus, his brows furrow. Venkalith couldn't quite parse what he was seeing. A woman? She was wearing clothes unsuitable for combat but that wasn't the strange thing, she was actively ravaging the succubus who's point of view he was watching.

"What the hell is this? Who's this strange wom-" He was cut off when the woman spoke up.

"It's about time you die honestly, it's been really boring. Do better Venkalith Zorander~" Venkalith's ego took a hit, even if this was a mere memory how could she have known that he was watching?

Venkalith's mere presence shook the entire throne room causing rubble to fall on a normal demon guard turning it into a splatter of black viscera.

"Is that a challenge?" He roared out his voice reverberating through the entire castle. The throne chairs actually bended and broke under his arms. His purple eyes shining with fury.

"I will be sure to show you hell on earth you ignorant swine!" The pressure increased from his anger.

Venkalith eventually realized that all his anger did was cause his generals to quiver in fear. So he calmed down and let out a long sigh. He turned to his first demon general Seskel and his first creation the demonic slime. "Find this woman. I want her dead, and if possible bring her to me alive." He stood up off his throne and walked down the steps each clank of his boots against the cold hard rocks of the demonic castle reverberating through it.

And he left to his own quarters...

"Wow~ this cheese cake is really great!" Rachel exclaimed cupping her own cheek as she took in the taste of the cake. Regina rested her cheek on her hand staring at her younger sister in scrutiny.

"I know right?" Amanda chimed in taking a bite of her own cake, "This place has really good cheese cakes~ and they even have discounts for students!" Amanda exclaimed. Even though she is the princess of the country she was not given any allowance by her father and neither did Evan. It was some stupid stuff about 'being responsible' with money. Amanda didn't care.

"You got it for free because we're royal class students Amanda, the discount is for normal students." Regina just had to go and ruin the fun. Of course being royal class students they had many boons. For example getting food for free, getting better discounts than normal students and many other things. But that didn't mean everything was free.

"So? I got it for free so what?" Amanda grumbled.

"She had to pay for it. You could have ordered two for yourself and shared it with her." Regina said gesturing at her sister.

"Haha~ It's fine~ I'm the one who told her to let me pay. I have money." Rachel smiled.

Regina raised an eyebrow, "You... Did you steal from the safe?" Regina asked tilting her head her expression amused.

"... How'd you know?" Rachel was stumped for a moment before she giggled, "Yes. Yes I did haha~"

"I can't believe I didn't think of that!" She slammed the table in regretful irritation, she felt like she missed out on a lot...

"... Am I missing something here?" Amanda asked tilting her head, "What safe?"

Regina turned to her only now realizing she was an outsider. "Ah~ yeah so the Cearyn kingdom is a really rich kingdom." Regina said simply.

"That's an understatement older sister, our kingdom was the richest kingdom before it was taken down by the cult." Rachel corrected her and Amanda was taken aback, richest was a really big word...

If the Cearyn kingdom was so rich why did she never hear about it? "Why have I-"

She was interrupted as Regina decided to answer her question without hearing it fully, "It's because history was omitted. You two might not realize how powerful that cult is, but I do." Regina said simply. "It was recent history and it is extremely hard to omit the fall of an entire kingdom and the richest one at that but to that cult it isn't impossible." Regina said the subject suddenly shifted to the cult which was responsible for the fall of the Cearyn kingdom.

"What cult? The cult of the devourer?" Amanda asked tilting her head to the side. Amanda had to be honest this was only the second time she heard about this cult, the first time she heard of it was back when Regina spoke about it.

Rachel frowned slightly and turned to Regina, "Just how much do you know older sister?" Rachel questioned looking at Regina in scrutiny now.

"Haaa~ It's really long and I don't want to explain it~~" Regina whined and slumped her head on the table in her usual whiny attitude when she doesn't get what she wants. She was acting like a kid... A really annoying and entitled one.

Regina had realized that she had strayed too close to her secrets trying to explain why Rachel has so much money... She hadn't realized she almost blurted out her source of knowledge... That organisation...

Rachel took the last bite of her cheese cake and grabbed her cane helping herself up. "I think we should get going. We spent a lot of time in this café." She gave a polite smile when the other two stood up.

"Yeah~ let's go, this just turned boring... I wanna go back to the dorms~~" Regina's arms slumped to her sides.

Amanda nodded while yawning, "Yeah, I'm tired as well... Oh wait... We didn't get you a dorm did we?" Amanda asked in slight concern.

"No~ It's fine I already got it!" Rachel smiled widely and displayed the key to the dorm she got from the reception before she even met Amanda.

"Wait... That number! You're my neighbour!" Amanda exclaimed with a wide smile. The dorm next to hers had been vacant for a long time now so Rachel getting it was quite the pleasant surprise.

"Oh really? Well that's a relief... If I ever require assistance I will call for you. Please take care of me." She bowed politely.

Regina grumbled, "Why do I not have any neighbours..." She almost spat out but she managed to control her tone.

"Whatever, let's go." She said her mood clearly soured. "Come on." She tugged Rachel along who only managed to keep up thanks to her cane. A truly reliable tool.

They all walked back to the dorms in peace... Except for Regina she was concerned about something...
