Chapter 8

Mya sat there biting her nails mumbling to herself. “I think you broke her,” Rouge told lex as lex looked at mya nervously. Lex with a sorrowful face, “you think.” Mark walks up to mya and puts his hand lightly on her shoulder and shakes her slightly, “Mya.” Mya snaps out of it and looks at Mark and smiles, “yes mark?” Mark looks down nervously, “are you ok?” Mya smiles at Mark and turns all of her attention to him like she was talking to a little sibling, “yes, it’s just hard for me to believe I have magic.” Lex rolls his eyes and mumbles, “yeah, and it was hard to believe that you were a mage.” Mya agrees, “mhm.” Rouge walks up to mya, “how about we see what you can do?” Mya looks up at Rouge nervously, “like as in magic!?” Rouge looks at mya and rolls his eyes, “no, I want to see how long you can cartwheel for. Yes, magic idiot.” Mya looks at Rouge irritated, “ok but where should we do it.” Lex smiles, “how about the attic. Rouge looks at Lex and thinks for a second, “it is pretty empty up there.” Mya looked at lex, “sounds good to me.”

The attic was full of dust and creepy Mya hadn’t gotten a good look at it until now. Mya takes a deep breath, “oh here goes nothing.” Mya puts her hand out in front of her and she closes her eyes tightly desperately trying to make something happen. Mya opens one eye to see if she created any magic, only to reveal that she did nothing, after seeing that mya opened both of her eyes in disappointment, “Nothing is happening.” Mark, trying to cheer her up, smiles and gives her some advice, “maybe try to imagine what you want to happen?” Mya looks at Mark with a disappointed face, “I did that.” Lex looked discouraged, “if you can’t even cast normal spells how do you expect to destroy the 5 magic books?” Mya turns her attention to lex confused, “destroy, why?”

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

“ You said you wanted to help this reality,” Lex asked mya. Mya looked even more confused, “yes?” Lex smiled but his face still showed discouragement, “the only way to do that is to destroy the books.” Mya looks at him curiously, “what happens if someone gets ahold of all the books and tries to use the power?” “They can bend the world to their control,” Rouge told Mya in a depressed voice. Mark chips in, “it doesn’t help that you don’t even have to be a mage to use the books.” Mya has a worried look on her face, “that’s bad.” “You think,” Lex chips in sarcastically. Rouge in an irritated voice, “why do you think the leaders wouldn’t let the humans have them.” Mya looks at the floor, “how am I supposed to destroy them if I can’t even use simple spells?” Lex is visibly upset because he feels defeated, “you can't just go home.” Rouge walks over to Lex and puts a hand on his shoulder, “Lex, don’t be so hasty.” Lex turns around to look at Rouge, “she can’t help us, Rouge.” Mark looks at them like a newborn puppy that is lost, “She can’t leave, she's our friend now!” Mya watching this whole conversation about her, felt a need to say something, “I can still try and help!” Lex looks away, “maybe your genie was mistaken, you’re not a mage.” Rouge rolls his eyes, “enough lex.” Lex looks at Rouge irritated, “why do you care.” Rouge looks annoyed, “because the mages weren’t born knowing how to use magic, they were taught.” Lex looked at Rouge blankly, “your point?” Rouge puts his hand on his head, “you are dense sometimes, Lex.” Lex irritated even more, “I'm the smart one.” Rouge grabs a map from a nearby self and places it flat on a table as he points to an area on the map, “we’re going to travel to the mage's ancient library.”
