Chapter 17

All right, now that my great self flawlessly executed an already beautifully crafted plan, I now need to replace this socially awkward mess.

I’m going to have to know how he acts, who he knows if he sends letters to his household, and such things. If any of those things differ I am sure to be compromised.

And there is only one tried and tested technique to get all that knowledge out of that miserable man's head, good old, bad old torture. I just need him to wake up first.

Well, while I’m waiting for the nincompoop to wake up I suppose I should look through all of his belongings.

Looking around the room it seems he just moved into this place because there is nothing unpacked. All his belongings seem to be in a couple of bags in the corner of the room.

Looking through the first bag I find, clothing, very fine clothing. Finally, something that's actually wearable for an esteemed person such as myself.

The second bag holds an empty notebook and writing supplies. And I have just thought of a problem, I do not know how to use a quill. Well, considering my genius, it should not take long for my great self to get used to this hindrance and thrive.

in the last and final bag, I find a map of the campus and the schedule for class 1-b, a pouch, and an opened letter. As my great eyes dean to give the letter approval, they perceive that it is sent from Ustosis' father. The letter says that Ustosis’ father, Bigil Ustos, out of the bottom of his heart sent him to the academy, where he will hopefully thrive and prosper to become a real mage. After that, he will return to the Ustos household and serve them for the rest of his miserable life, because he owes a debt to them, for financially supporting him through his wizarding journey. Heartwarming.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

He also wrote that he should send a letter every month, stating his experiences in the academy. And then he ends the letter off with a nice and quick ‘let the god of knowledge guide you on your way.’.

As my great self is about to look through the pouch in the bag, Ustos finally wakes up. He starts fidgeting in his chair and screaming into his gag for help. *sigh captives are so annoying.

I walk up to Ustos and give him a good slap on the face to calm him down.

I slowly remove his gag whilst also saying “If you dare to move that disgusting mouth of yours before I say you can, I will skin you like a rabbit. Do you understand?”.

The man slowly nods his head, his mind naturally seeing its lesser status.

“All right Ustos let’s get on with the questioning.”.

After the interrogation mixed with a little peeling of the skin here and there, I managed to gain all the info that I needed for now. Ustos didn't struggle much, after a couple of attempted lies he mostly answered truthfully.

Ustos doesn’t have a lot of friends or any friends really. My prediction was right, no noble deemed him worthy of their friendship. What I did not factor in was the bullies scattered throughout the 50 joining students in the first year, there are about 9 that have bullied Ustos before and the rest just ignore him.

This is a pretty good thing for me. My goal is to not stick out, although it hurts my great heart I must blend in with these dimwits. The more people that care about Ustosis existence the higher chance there is to be found out by them. So the fact that Ustos has no friends to speak of is wonderful for my odds of not being found out.

But the bullies might be a problem, I can’t fight back at them because Ustose, the soft idiot that he is, wouldn't fight back either. I need to act like Ustos so that means if a bully throws a punch at me I need to take it, if they want to beat me up, I need to take it and if they throw insults at me I need to take it. No wonder these idiots bully him, he's basically the perfect target.

He also said that, his sister, Carolina Ustos is a third year at this academy, which is annoying but she probably won’t be much of a problem.

I also asked him about the monthly letters to his father. After plenty of skin peeling I finally got the knowledge out of his dry mouth. The letter should have Ustosis's signature on it to prove that it is real and if the letters cease coming the Ustos household will pull him out of the academy, which is annoying.
