Willow tried to call out, but her voice felt weak, and she wasn't even sure if she'd managed to make a sound. Her throat felt dry and blistered.

She heard Richard take over the conversation then, using the same tone he took with his farmhands. She heard something about caring for...something? Was one of the livestock hurt? She couldn't focus long enough to remember if a baby had been born recently. Was there a sickness going around? She heard a sudden clanking that seemed to resound and bounce around in her head painfully and causing her to jump a little.
The pain was nearly unbearable, and she let out a faint, displeased groan, feeling her own carefully shielded magic leak through. She heard some scuffling about and footsteps heading toward her, but she lost the battle with consciousness, and she slipped back into pleasant, pain-free darkness.
