Dream 42

Eian was beginning to appreciate how much having a group really helps.

Being almost tackled to the floor by a termendously territorial boar was unsavory to say the least.

This boar was bigger than a fucking bear, not the bear he had killed but a normal one.

It's tusks were the length of his arm, elbow to shoulder.

He was truly beginning to actually hate his helmet, it hindered his hearing to a substantial degree.

He had dodged the charge and easily killed it once he drew his great-sword.

He stabbed it deeply just behind it's left front-leg as he evaded the second charge, by moving to the side.

It stopped moving soon after, Ul had told him major organs including the heart were found there on many mammals on four legs..

'I hate this world, everything is super-sized.' Eian contemplated what all could live in the forest.

He had been walking through the forest for a while now.

His march continued through the woods.

The clouds had begun to look as though it may rain.

Eian himself was hoping for it, he was thirsty as hell.

He stumbled upon something strange soon.

A small grotto was at the center of a crystal pool of water.

It was clearly well tended to and the water sparkled, even though there was no sun.

The grotto itself contained a strange blue lotus-flower-plant at the center.

The plant held no fruits, though clearly it was of some importance to someone.

'Weird.' Eian thought.

Eian neared the pool and took a handful of water from the pool to drink.

He felt his spirit recover somewhat, he was perhaps close to half his entire well now.

'THE FUCK?!' Eian thought.

He drank greedily and deeply to completely sate his thirst.

He quickly recovered to full spirit, though he felt his channels still possessed a slight ache.

"NEEEEEEIGH!" Horse sound.

Eian turned to look and saw gigantic white-horse charge him, his head only reached the length of its legs.

"FUCK!" Eian attempted to scramble to his feet, heart-pumping, adrenaline surging.

Eian held his sword in one arm and he tried raising it to defend himself.

At the last moment he saw a horn aimed at his face, and attempted to dodge.

Something sharp impacted upon near his shoulder-joint, tearing through his armor and sending him stumbling into the shallow pool.

He held on tightly to his sword to not drop it.

"AHH! SHIT!" Eian felt his blood pump out through his arm-region near the shoulder.

"NEEEEEIGH!!!!!!" Unicorn.

The beast reared it's upper legs kicking threateningly at Eian, as he stumbled backwards on the pool.

Eian managed to get up fully and the beast entered the pool and charged him, it's legs having a much easier time running in the shallow water.

'FUCK!' Eian threw himself sideways towards the land, dodging it's charge.

Eian saw it's bloody-horn swing at him as it twisted it's neck, luckily he had over-done the jump and it missed.

Scrambling to dry land Eian kept watch as the beast circled around for another charge.

"NEIGH!!!!" Unicorn.

IT charged again with it's head lowered.

'Fuck can't impale it's head or I'll catch me too.' Eian thought.

Eian waited close to the last second before dodging, then dipping low and swinging at it's front-leg.

He felt the sword bite and the impact send a jolt up his injured arm, but the leg was severed completely.

"NEIGHHHH!!!!!!" The unicorn stumbled unto the floor, landing hard.

Eian approached the beast intending to kill it.

If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

The beast was lying on it's belly swinging it's horn to protect itself.

Eian noticed the silver-blood flowing through the unicorns leg had ceased and he saw it's hoof was regenerating quickly.

'Shit! It's like Alex.' Eian thought.

Eian rushed forward and deflected the horn with his sword.

He buried the sword through it's neck and the unicorn began thrashing.

It's horn slammed into him, but did little except stumble him.

Eian left the sword buried, backed away quickly, then waited for it to die.

It blood was gushing out rapidly.

Soon the floor was coated in it's blood, but didn't die.

It's leg soon fully regenerated, it stood, then attempted to impale Eian with it's horn.

'WHAT THE FUCK?!' Eian watched it's charge and dodged.

It's wound was still bleeding profusely and it should have long ago passed out from blood loss.

It's movement's were slow and clumsy, but no-where near where it should be.

It reared back and charged again, though slightly slower this time, Eian dodged and pulled out his mace.

He slammed his mace at the creature's leg again as it passed, though it had little effect apart from stumbling it.

'This shit is useless!' Eian thought.

The creature soon attempted to get up clumsily, but swayed sideways.

It struggled feebly for a time, before finally laying down and gurgling.

A full minute passed as it gurgled, then went still.

'Definitely gotta crack it's skull.' Eian thought and he did.

He bashed its skull mercilessly, until it was fully caved in.

He noted the horn was much denser and harder than the rest of it's bones.

It's tip was contained some of his blood on it.

'Cool. I wonder if this counts as a spear. Shit punched through my shoulder-armor.' Eian tore off the horn at the base of the head.

It was a light-golden color, with roughly a yard and a half in length.

He went to the pool and saw there were a black bubbles floating within it now.

As he approached he noticed his blood drip into the water and created a black bubble in the water.

'Ah crap.' Eian eyed the plant in the grotto.

He deduced it must be worth something, so he went and uprooted it completely.

"..roooaaaarrrr......!!!!!" Distant roar within the forest.

'Ah fuck. That can't be good.' Eian thought.

He quickly left the pool and kept going in the direction he had seen the fire-signal.

He quickened his pace, in hopes he could lose that monster.

His shoulder hurt, but he ignored it.

He didn't mark the trees anymore in his need for more speed.

He wasn't running, but slightly jogging at a comfortable pace.

After about an hour he wasn't even close to being out of breathe.

He was surprised he hadn't encountered anything else so far in-fact.

'Damn I've jinxed myself.' Eian mentally sighed.

Not five minutes later he found it was true.

Pack of five wolves charged at him.

'Fuck me and my stupidity. I hate being right all the time.' Eian cursed mentally.

He dropped the horn and the plant and quickly drew his great-sword.

He evaded and swiped the first wolf, as it jumped at him.

He caught a leg and it whined pitifully as it collapsed on the dirt behind him one leg short.

Eian quickly ran forward and tossed himself sideways, rolling to a knee.

Surely another wolf breezed past him.

Another wolf turned and he impaled through it's skull as it lunged.

It's weighty body crashed on the floor, though it missed Eian as he had properly positioned himself.

Eian gripped his sword hard and ran to the right, letting his momentum pull the sword free, as the sword slightly dragged the dead wolf.

He sprinted behind the closest tree, as the remaining three wolves chased him.

Listening as well as he could through the helmet, Eian tracked their movement and readied for a mighty swing.

The first wolf almost breezed past a second later, but Eian swung low catching it in both it's front legs.

It collapsed on the floor howling in pain.

Another lunged at him and Eian threw himself sideways down, catching himself on an open palm and a gripped fist holding his sword.

As soon as he knew it had passed he pushed himself upwards, standing.

The two remaining wolves had surrounded him, eyeing him carefully.

Eian charged forward to the front wolf, before tilting side-ways expecting the other wolf to lunge at his back.

It had and thus missed, swinging ferociously Eian's sword caught it's open-mouth full force.

The sword forcefully sliced through it's bones and almost-wholly chopped off it's upper face.

The wolf landed dead, spurting blood and brains, it's upper-face hanging only by thick skin and fur.

The last wolf jumped him with a bloodthirsty howl, and actually tackled him to the floor.

It clamped it's jaws on his unprotected fore-arm.

"Ughh." Eian grit his teeth as the wolf slightly penetrated his flesh.

It shook vigorously, but couldn't pierce fast enough.

Eian lifted it's weight with his injured arm and stabbed it's belly, one-handed.

It's teeth unclamped as it tried to flee, but Eian grabbed it by a leg.

It bit at his arm again, but he leaned in with his well-armored shoulder and it's teeth found no purchase there.

He shoved it off himself, unto its back, and drew out his blood-soaked sword.

He stabbed it's neck.

Eian saw the first three-legged wolf approach, howl and run off limping.

He killed the final two-legged wolf stabbing it's neck.

'I take it back. That dwarf rocks.' Eian smiled.

Eian watched his injured arm, which only sported a few teeth marks.

Apparently he was now tougher than alligator-hide, as he was barely bleeding.

Eian smiled again.

He retrieved the lotus-plant and unicorn-horn, then kept jogging.
