Sometimes its out of the frying pan and into the fire. Never assume things can't get worse. The world sometimes bends you over and takes you for a ride. We always hear stuff like that, but we never really sit and think on it much. We usually prefer ignoring that possibily, don't we?
Jessica peeked behind herself again. She was carrying the two long-spears, the dagger, a stone gourd full of water and a stained shirt. Alex always carried the bigger shirt-ful of food and dropped it when they fought. She hadn't fought anything in a while, Sarah's hot green flames were making her sweaty, but over all she was happy there was less danger. There was only one problem.
-'I've been demoted to full-time pack-mule.' Jessica thought sadly.
Nobody asked her opinion for anything. She just went along for the ride, while she was perfectly happy to be safe, she wished she wasn't thought of as useless. When Eian got hurt she completely broke down, as much as she didn't really like him he was still a brave person protecting her. Even that sweet-heart Alex didn't ask for her opinion, only asking if she was alright once in a while. Her sandaled feet felt alot better now though, since Alex had healed the rawness, she could almost kiss him from sheer joy. They had been walking this tunnel for about half an hour and Sarah had only flash fried one more of those ugly blind albino monsters.
"Gimme some jerky please." Eian asked Alex, he had been munching feverently on the foul meat.
"Sure man." Alex responded.
Eian himself was weird, while not bad-looking at first his transformation was almost too fast for her to believe. He went from average guy to .....that, though it was all covered up now. When he had stripped the leather, she had a clear-view of his abs on his light-brown skin and his muscles even had more definition than Alex now. Overall he kind of looked like some cute athlete. Maybe about six point five out of ten, or close to a seven? Need more light to tell for sure.
'Thankfully Alex is only a seven on a bad day.' Jessica quirked a smirk.
She peeked behind herself again. In the distance shadows moved and she almost screamed. Nothing. Her thoughts seemed to be playing tricks on her. She kept peering backwards as she walked, and ran into someone.
"Eep!" Jessica screeched.
"Hey! Careful! I could burn Alex!" Sarah scolded.
"Sorrie." Jessica said quickly, luckily nothing pointy impaled Sarah.
"It's okay Sarah. Jess, try to be careful okay?" Alex nicely said.
"Okay. Sorry Sarah." Jessica felt useless again.
"Hurry up guys. I want out." Eian said from up ahead.
They kept walking, Jessica was sick of spotting those over-grown bald rodents. They were so disgusting, and bared their teeth before ruuning into a tunnel the size of a venilation shaft. She peeked backwards again and saw movement in the green-tinged darkness far back. This part of the tunnel was a bit moist and she felt the occasional droplet of water on her head.
-'Could it be a rodent? Maybe I should tell Sarah.' Jessica thought.
"Sarah?" Jessica said.
"Hmm?" Sarah from up ahead.
"Is there something back there?" Jessica thought, hopefully she wouldn't look dumb.
"Huh?! Where?" Sarah snapped to attention.
The whole group stopped.
"What's the hold up guys?" Eian said from up front.
"Jess says saw something." Sarah said peering into the darkness.
"Throw a fire ball in that direction." Alex suggested.
Jessica half hoped something would be there. It would be so humiliating for there to be nothing. Sarah threw the fire ball on her left hand straight at the tunnel.
"AHHH!!" Jessica screamed at the sight.
"SHIT! Hand over a big spear! RUN! Alex stay behind Jessica!" Sarah screamed.
"CRAP!" Eian sprinted foward.
"ROGER!" Alex quickly positioned himself behind her.

Jessica quickly complied and the entire group sprinted down the tunnel. Several large figures had been illuminated by the fire at a far distance. Several were clearly armored and many smaller ones were also there.
Running on the ground was actually harder than it looked, it was getting more moist. Inside her heart she prayed she wouldn't slip. Jessica almost hugged the spear to her chest as she ran. As she ran she didn't even notice if the figures were giving chase.
"KEEP GOING!" Alex yelled, confirming it.
Her breath soon began to grow heavy, though her body wasn't as tired as she'd have thought. She saw them breeze past a few large tunnels on both sides, but she didn't keep count. She hoped the pursuers got lost in them.
"MONSTER! DEAD AHEAD!" Eian yelled.
"KEEP GOING! TACKLE IT!" Sarah screamed.
Jessica heard the monster roar before she saw it. WHAM!
"UGH!" Eian grunted, and she saw Sarah stop near Eian.
She overtook Sarah, Eian and the monster on the floor.
"KEEP GOING PEOPLE! ALEX GO!" Sarah ordered.
Jessica kept running foward ignoring the sounds. She heard another impact, but kept running. Her belly began hurting.
"KEEP GOING JESS! THEY'LL CATCH UP!" Alex yelled, catching up to her.
"GO!" Sarah yelled from farther behind.
Jessica kept running alongside Alex. She could bearly see, but she kept running. She saw a fork and took right on instinct. Suddenly she felt her legs go out from under her. She fell.
*****
Sarah kept going. She thought she saw Jessica and Alex disappear on the right fork. She had expended both fire-balls though, so it was hard to see. She stopped by the right fork and squinted. The path ended in a large hole on the ground.
Sarah channeled her spirit through her staff and willed a fire-ball into existance. She felt her heart beating wildly along with her breathe. The green light illuminated the hole and she quickly looked down. The fire reflected off what appeared to be a dark body of water at the bottom.
-'Shit! There could be some rocks!' Sarah thought.
She heard running behind her and turned to look. Eian had caught up.
"Why'd you stop!? " Eian was barely out of breathe.
"We have a big problem!" Sarah was feeling desperate.
"What?!" Eian.
"They fell in that!" Sarah.
"SHIT! What to we do?" Eian.
"ROAAAARRRR!!!!" It echoed through the tunnel.
"GUYS! YOU DOWN THERE!?" Eian.
"HELLO!" Sarah.
"GUYS! GUYS! YOU THERE?! Eian.
Sarah tried catching some of her breathe. Eian knelt. Sarah felt a surge of adrenaline couring through her veins and her heart felt it would explode. A few seconds passed.
"+@#%#@$@#%%&Q#!!!@%@#^@#$!!!#%^$#&%@#%@^@!!!" Voices
Sarah was hearing that chatter, clearer. She was losing hope. Eian got up.
-'We have to take the other exit.' Sarah thought desperate.
"Jump." Eian.
"What?!" Sarah.
Eian dropped his spear on the ground. Eian quickly grabbed her arm and sent her fire-ball backwards into the tunnel. He grabbed her and wrapped his arms around her tightly holding all their items tightly.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! STOP!" Sarah was freaking out.
"Hold your breathe." Eian.
"WHAT?! STOP!" Sarah.
He visibly took a deep breathe, frightening her. The blood drained from her face. He tossed them into the pool.
"AHH!!!!" Sarah.
*****
SPLASH! PAIN! Water everywhere.
"UHHHHH!" Eian took a deep breathe after resurfacing from the pool.
Sarah was coughing and spluttering incoherently, she seemed to have drank some water. He held her tight to make sure they didn't lose anything else.
-'She should really listen next time.' Eian thought.
He focused on staying afloat. It was harder than he'd have thought, though it was probably due to his shield. He had used it to absorb the impact, which hopefully would have stopped any sharp rocks too. Sarah was still coughing violently and Eian began to worry a little.
"ASSHO*cough* WHA*cough*FUC!" Sarah spluttered.
-'Yep she should listen next time. That hurt though.' Eian thought over the landing.
-'Well at least I didn't land on my ass this time. That would suck.' Eian thought, ignoring Sarah's coughing and cursing.
"Over here man!" Voice.
Eian swam to the direction of the voice and soon the water was low enough to walk. He dragged the spluttering Sarah towards the voice. It was pretty dark and Eian could barely see, with water in his eyes.
"Hey man!" A dark figure.
"That you?" Eian.
"Yeah. How's Sarah" Alex.
Sarah was currently on the floor. Eian heard retching sounds.
"She's been better." Eian smiled, happy to be alive.
-'That was a crazy thrill.' Eian thought shuddering at the short free-fall.
"So I hear." Alex.
"I'm here too." Jessica mumbled.
Sarah seemed to get up. Only to violently shove Eian.
"ASSHOLE WHAT *cough* WERE YOU THINKING?!" Sarah.
"Relax. Everythings fine." Eian regained his footing.
"EVERYTHING IS NOT FINE!! I COULD HAVE DIED!!" Sarah.
"Nah. It was perfectly safe." Eian.
Sarah was began coming towards Eian and he backed away.
"Hey. Easy. Easy." Eian.
"GET OVER HERE AND LET ME KILL YOU!" Sarah.
Eian backed away even more.
"Sarah calm down." Alex.
"I WILL NOT CALM DOWN! HE ALMOST KILLED ME!" Sarah.
"The drop was safe." Alex
"UGH! HOW WOULD YOU KNOW!!! THERE COULD BE ROCKS!" Sarah.
"Jess and me dropped together and the swam about for a while looking for the shallow. Its very deep and Jessica felt nothing swimming to find me." Alex.
"THERE COULD STILL HAVE BEEN ROCKS!" Sarah.
"I heard Alex say it was safe, so I jumped." Eian put in.
"Let's go. Those things might attempt the jump too." Alex.
"FINE!" Sarah.
Sarah lit a fire-ball and revealed the drop was about one and a half stories high. The pool was wide and the space was large. They quickly took utmost right tunnel out of three that were there. It took a long while and several hard shoves and curses for Sarah to calm down. Alex explained even if they did hurt themselves he could probably heal them.
Eian was leading the way again and apparently Jessica lost everything except the long-spear on the drop. Alex lost the meat trying to hold his spear and shield. Sarah only lost her glasses, which she claimed were reading only. Eian dropped the short-spear in favor of holding Sarah and the long-spear. He held on to his shield on impact and made sure they didn't lose anything else. Eian took the long-spear from Sarah whom was still cursing him.
The tunnel descended. They kept going through the tunnel slowly, not knowing whether they could get back.
