Kai’s heart pounded in his chest as the hound lunged at him. He barely managed to roll out of the way, his mind racing. “This can’t be a dream. The cold stone beneath, the stench of the dungeon, the adrenaline coursing through my veins - it’s all too real.” His thoughts were a whirlwind, a mix of fear and confusion.
He looked straight at the hound, which had its eyes focused on him. Kai stood calm, “Okay, first thing first. In the face of danger, maintain eye contact. Show them you’re not afraid.” He maintained his eye contact with the hound. He starts to recall back when he first saw the dungeon. “I am sure it’s the same location,” he thought, recalling the unique flower by the dungeon path.
He rubs his foot on the ground, slowly getting in lower position when the hound came for another attack at him. “Now!”, he quickly grabbed a handful of dust from the ground and threw it directly at the hound’s face, to which the hound yelped. He quickly rolled to the corner, as the hound tried to shake off the dust, struggling.
After the hound recovered, it looked around, tried to sniff Kai’s smell. After some time, it walked off the other way. As the hound went away, Kai landed safely from above. He sighed, thinking to himself, “I almost didn’t make it…”
Back in time, when Kai rolled to the corner: “I must hide! But where…?” as he was thinking that, he looked above. “Either this or that.” As he said so, he started to climb the dungeon walls, his muscles straining under the effort. “Man… this is such a weak body!” After some time, as the hound went off, he landed back.
“If I didn’t have survival experience, I was a goner…” he murmured, massaging his aching muscles. Back when Kai threw dust at the hound, he specifically aimed at its face. Doing so, the dust went into the hound’s eyes, making its visions blurry. Also, with some enter its nose, it lost the sense of proper smell and couldn’t get Kai’s scent anymore.
Kai started to look around, “But what’s happening?” he scanned everywhere. “Maybe I will find some clue if I check more of the dungeon.” He said to himself, and started walking through the dungeon careful of the monsters lurking in it.
“The dungeon’s kind of cold…,” he whispered to himself, as he was walking the path. He tried to recall what happened so far. “We went to the Palace, and came back. After that, I fell asleep. Between those time, nothing unusual happened, so…” he looked at the monsters in front of him, covering behind them careful of not being seen. “How did I end up here?” He had lots of thoughts in his mind. Sometime later, when the monsters went other way, he sighed. He started to walk again, when he put his hand on his right ear, “Also, Eva is not here.”

He continued to walk for some time, when he came across a huge door. He stared at the door, “Something doesn’t seem right…” he thought to himself, as he slowly opened the door. Upon opening, inside the door was a huge room. “There’s nothing here…” he observed the room, until his eyes fell on at the center of the room where there was a small bottle kept over a pillar structure. He walked towards it, where he carefully picked up the bottle. “What’s this now?”
As he said so, a screen appeared in front of him. It was a translucent, floating screen that seemed to materialize out of thin air. As he looked at it, he recalled back to where he saw the previous owner of the body had a same screen appear after he killed the golems and hounds. He was taken aback at first, but he started to read what was written on the screen. “Total Cure: Special recovery potion, with the blessing of the ancient fairies. Can cure any illness, curses, and always active. Instant healing effect upon taking damage.”
As he read it, he stared at the bottle. It was a small, delicate thing, filled with a glowing liquid that seemed to pulse with life. “This is too good to be real… but,” he looked at his right arm, which had a scratch from the hound’s attack earlier, which was starting to get infected. He looked back at the potion, “Let’s give it a try then,” saying so, he drank all the potion from it. As he did, the wound healed instantly.
“That’s nice,” he checked his arm all over, his fingers tracing the now smooth skin where the wound had been. Just then, he heard a voice.
“Times out. Dungeon closing in the count of 10”
As he heard so, a screen came above where the numbers were in count. He stared at it, his heart pounding in his chest. “Will I be going back now?” as he thought, the number turned from 1 to 0 and soon a bright light spread, covering the whole view.
When Kai opened his eyes, he was back in his room, waking up in the morning. He was sweating, checking over his body, “I am back…” thinking so, he felt the earpiece in his right ear. “Eva,” to which Eva responded, “Yes, Sir.” Kai was now in deep thoughts, “Okay, so I was in a dungeon. But in my dream? That’s unheard of…”
As he was thinking, Sakura knocked on his door, “Kai! Are you awake now?” She slowly opened the door, peeking her head when she saw Kai, covered in sweat. “Oh my! Kai? Are you alright?” she came to him, rushing to his side. She continued to check on him, until Kai brought out his notebook, showing his note, saying he’s alright.
Sakura was still worried, but finally she went off. Kai sighed, “Okay, now let’s get changed.” As he was about to get to his wheelchair, he stopped midway. “Wait… Somethings strange…,” he continued to sit in silence in his bed, his mind racing with thoughts and questions about what had just happened.
