Chapter 52: Touring The Golden Eye

Chapter 52: Touring The Golden Eye

"Nordeline, since you're idle now, why don't I show you around the Golden Eye? You're going to be on this ship for some time, it's best if you know your way around sooner."

As it was that they would be spending a lot of time on the vessel, Ozia opted to be a tourist of his own home.

"I'd be delighted" Nordeline and Ozia stood up.

"I'm coming too" Alravee stood up from his chair.

"What? I didn't get to see the whole thing last time." Al'ravee's dignified face quickly changed into a more casual one, accompanied by a goofy smile.

He stretched his arms wide and walked towards them, acting like a completely different person.

Nordeline was a bit curious about this sudden minuscule change in behavior but she didn't find it strange. After all, she was just like him. She also did not have an in-built personality.

The way Al'ravee behaved was purely due to preference. If he always looked calm, that was because he preferred it, not because he was like that naturally.

This was the same for her, Krene, Ozia, Jurdelious, and pretty much every god.

‘But why?’

"C'mon, let's go!" Al'ravee ignored them as he went to the door. His hands spread out comically.

"Watch your step," Ozia said as they all soon crossed the round metallic door.

That comment seemed off point as there was nothing in his way but Al'ravee knew that sentence was synonymous with 'Be careful', 'Don't try nonsense', 'I'm watching you', and many other warning phrases.

Nordeline and Al'ravee narrowed their eyes together for different reasons. Al'ravee had a faint smile while the former kept her face calm.

They were all members of the same pantheon, what could go wrong?

#######

"This is the prison sector or... umm... whatever you want to call it. I just keep my prisoners here."

A monotone and robotic yet casual voice echoed out in the heavily constricted area.

Ozia had led his passengers through many hallways to get to this place.

The walk along the way had been a very silent one so when Ozia spoke up, it naturally drew the attention of the two gods beside him.

The area they had arrived in was a bit congested and was more like a maze than a prison.

Walking through the maze, they came across the first prisoner.

A transparent, human-sized tube was fitted into the wall, and inside this tube was what the humans of planet Green Cloud would call an alien.

Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings.

"What is this?" Nordeline asked, her voice still carrying the heavy accent of her birthplace's language.

"This is a Krysian," Ozia said, referring to the orange-skinned, naked entity inside the tube.

This humanoid-looking being had its humanoid arms behind its back in bondage while it was on its knees.

With its mouth clamped shut by a metal mask, the thick reptilian tail behind it- which was a big giveaway of its origin- laid limply by the side.

"It's just one of my many prisoners of war?" The machine god stated with a wave of his hand.

Nordeline placed her palm on the transparent "Why?"

"Like I said, prisoners of war. I fought someone and this guy is one of the collateral."

The Krysian's big orange eyes were wide open, a testament that it was aware of itself. To be forced into such a position and still be awake for so long can only be described as torture.

The glass felt cold to the touch and despite their proximity, the Krysian didn't see her. Clearly, the glass was tinted on the other side.

"What will happen to it?" Nordeline asked. She removed her fair hand from the glass surface.

Ozia shrugged his shoulders, "I haven't decided yet, this one is level 5 mortal. Their average intelligence is pretty low and their physique is only comparable to a human child.

The only good thing about them is their tail, effective for manual labor. I might sell them off or use them for suicide operations."

The white-haired goddess nodded her head. All together, they moved on through the maze-like prison.

All through, Al'ravee remained silent and walked directly beside Ozia. He had seen this place before so he wasn't as curious as Nordeline. Instead, he was thinking of something else.

"This is a Dapexite. One of the most crucial of the insectoid variant, only beneath the queen class.

These creatures are born as shifters so if you see them in the future... "

"This right here is a Bdeli or a Bdelian. A race characterized by their grey skin, human-level physique, and intelligence. Their mortals are known to have talents that give them strong physiques or shape shifting abilities, and are also known to have some ability that gives them an elastic-like bodies.."

"These are the Kitnesses. Intelligence level is naturally higher than humans, and so is their physique. Too bad, their reproductive ability is very low and all of them are just half-beasts basically.

Born as all types of mortals with visible reptilian traits, they are known mostly for their beauty to the gods. In fact, some gods modify their bodies to look like kitnesses..."

The trio moved from one cell to another as Ozia gave Nordeline a rough introduction to the species.

"Sir Ozia, it seems there are not a lot of races naturally stronger than humans?" Nordeline asked as they left the prison area.

Anyone who saw the way they walked would not know that they had spent more than a day just walking around in the maze. And they didn't even visit all the cells.

"Yes, that's very observant of you. It's not just humans though, try not to be biased." Ozia navigated through the lit hallways, all the robots they came across made way for them as they were programmed to do.

#########

"The Golden Eye has a total of eight hangers used for parking different vehicles."

This new section they had arrived at was filled to the brim with space shuttles of different sizes and builds.

There were drone fighter jets, large mining ships, carriers, hovercrafts, hoverbikes, small battleships, scouters, and a few others parked around the corner.

With this collection of space vehicles, it would be hard to catch Ozia unprepared for any situation he may face.

Nordeline's eyes glittered like that of a country bumpkin who was seeing the city for the first time.

Al'ravee remained quiet at the hanger too. This was the last place he had visited so he was finally eager to continue the tour.

With how big the Golden Eye was, it wouldn't be strange if it took them days, weeks, or months to explore the in and out in detail while at walking normal speed.

The hanger alone was very large and the trio were not able to reach the end before they took a shortcut to the hibernation chamber.

##########

Al'ravee felt like he had been thrown into a sci-fi movie. With the things he was seeing, it wasn't a wrong feeling.

"So this is where you keep your humans. Amazing!" Al'ravee couldn't help but exclaim.

The closest thing to be likened to this place was a beehive. Everywhere they looked had glass pods filled to the brim with cold blue liquids.

Inside each blue liquid-filled pod was a naked human of any of the two genders. Breathing masks were fastened to their faces and wires to their bodies.

"I can't have these missionaries running around my ship now, can I?" Ozia replied seriously.

Nordeline was dumbfounded "Aren't they going to drown."

Al'ravee nearly slapped his forehead. 'What a dumb girl', he thought, though he did not bother to say it out.

"You see those things on their mouths..." Ozia was patient enough to explain it to her.

Nordeline narrowed her eyes to see it more clearly. She didn't have a lot of souls at her disposal so she could only settle for her ‘regular’ eyesight.

"... Those are breathing masks. Just know that they are used for keeping some organic life forms alive in unsuitable environments."

"Oh!" Nordeline nodded in understanding while she gave a side glance to Al'ravee who looked like he was watching a show.

"Will they just stay here until you need them again?" Al'ravee ignored their interaction.

"It costs resources to keep so many of them alive so I'll drop them off on some planets to spread my religion or set up factions."

Numerous silver drones flew around monitoring the vitals of the slumbering humans

*CRASH*

Just as they were moving through the rows of tubes, a chain of sounds belonging to the shattering of glass resounded out.

The sudden clamor alarmed Ozia and Nordeline as they turned around only to see a human male sprawled on the floor with shattered glass and blue liquid around him.

Standing next to the scene was Al'ravee with a facial expression depicting his surprise.

"My hand slipped, I'm so sorry." Al'ravee gave a sorry smile that wasn't really a sorry smile.

A piece of metal that had broken off from the tube lay to the side silently. And imprinted on this metal plate were the words:

Gender: Male

Level: 15

Talent: Pyromancy.
